  • Does anyone know the sound card specs (USB/Optical out) for the Macbook Pro 15 Retina?

I have looked everywhere and have just given up. The "technical specs" aren't very technical at all. Anyway, I have mine hooked up to a Cinema display, so the Thunderbolt and one USB are used on the left hand side. That leaves just one USB for 3 printers, one scanner, my Griffin PowerMate and my DAC. So I was wondering if using the Optical (Toslink Mini) out in the headphone jack might be a plan if I can find a DAc that deosn't need the USB for power AND if the optical out is 24/192.
I am just starting to set the laptop up as a replacement for my Mac Pro Desktop so wondering what to do here.
    Thanks!

I've just started to look into an issue I'm having with my DAC and my new iMac. There are some serious issues with using a DAC with USB3.0, so you may not even be able to use your DAC on your USB port. I'm getting a lot of popping noises when going through my USB 3.0 ports. I've had some success my hooking my DAC up to a UDSB hub (which is USB2). Problem there becomes power supply issue, whereas the problem with USB3 is data transfer.

  • Have anyone got the same message when remove certain package

error message, I do think the package has been removed but I got the annoying message:
    [root@A fontconfig]# pacman -R gcalctool
removing gcalctool... var/lib/pacman/local/gcalctool-4.3.51-1/install: line 22: post_remove: command not found
    done.
Or is it tied to my system, but I reinstalled my system that doesn't solve my problem with pacman, whose version is the lastest one, pacman-2.7.9-1.pkg.tar.gz.
    Thanks in advance.

This means that the gcalctool uses older gcalctool.install file without post_remove function defined. See /var/abs/extra/gnome/gcalctool/gcalctool.install and compare it to /var/abs/install.proto (template)
AFAIR post_remove was introduced not so far ago. I don't think there is something to worry about (gcalctool uses only post_install and post_update and the rest is just empty or missing but pacman tries to find it so it displays error message).
If you want to know about it more read man makepkg.
EDIT: of course the package is properly removed.

  • Anyone can help me about the driver of USB adaptor CB2

I have lost the driver of 'creative' USB adaptor, in which made my USB not work, can anyone give me the link to download the driver?, please.

@OP: there is no content in your message, it's just begging. The title
of your topic contains two more or less informative words "PARSING codes".
My question to you is: what exactly do you mean by "PARSING" and
"codes"? Parsing context free (programming) languages? I guess
you're not talking natural languages here because your project should
just take a week to complete. Care to elaborate?
    kind regards,
    Jos
ps. and why "PARSING" instead of "parsing"?

  • Anyone solved the blinking statusleds on 1252

    Hi,
have anyone solved the blinking statuslights on the 1252? -it always blinks status blinks red, green, blue when on 15,4w, 802.3af compliant switch!
Im now running the 1252 lightweight on controller 4402 with firmware 6.0.182.0, i have administratively shut down the 5ghz radio and rebooted. still blinkning!!
The only solution seems to be to physically remove the 5ghz radio.
i have noticed that when 2.4 & 5ghz is inserted but 5ghz is shutdown it draws 10019mW.
when 5ghz radio i physically removed it draws 7555mW.

If you are using firmware 6.X, then this code will upgrade the firmware of the radios to version 2.0.0 which allows both radios to operate but at a lower rate.
The lights blinking red, blue, green at a pace of about 1 per seconds means that the LAP can't find the WLC. If the light is red all the time then it means that it's gone into ROMmon.
If the light is BLUE only that means that a client has successfully associated to it. If it's green it means that it's joined a WLC but no client has associated to it.
    Hope this helps.

  • I plugged in my ipod and now i get the error message: Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled" - i have a MAcBook pro and now my USB ports do not work - can anyone help me ???

Sometimes you have to reset the SMC two or three times for it to work, don't know why. I've seen that error message before and 100% of the time it was fixed with an SMC reset. I suppose it's possible that your keyboard or mouse IS drawing too much power, do you have access to another you could try?

  • I have a digital voice recorder with a 3.5mm mic and headphone jack and want to transfer some recorded lecture to my mac book pro.  The mac book does not have 3.5mm  jacks.  Does anyone know if a jack to USB converter would work?

Is there a pattern to the time of day or other detail that may be
traced back to a OS X system cause of this odd phenomenon?
Are there any copies of system files on any of the attached USB
external drives? Any libraries, such as iTunes, iPhoto, etc?
Once the drives are indexed by Spotlight, are their permissions
ignored by the OS X? Content, if neutral, should not affect the
wake or sleep cycle; especially if they're ignored by the OS X.
Could there be a bad cable or other component? If so that would
be a difficult process of elimination to detect it. Usually replacing
most suspect components in the USB stream (external to Macs)
is a rote way to mechanically test that idea; & not 100% sure.
Does the equipment all have a good ground to the utility or house
electrical field? An intermittent ground may affect more than sleep.
Hard to say at this point. Maybe a late-night talk radio guru on
remote viewing could peer into your situation and sleuth it out?
Sorry to have run out of ideas, but the process must be electrical
& mechanical to some extent. - Or perhaps odd software inspired.
Do you have any phone-home spyware items inside, just jumping
at the chance to spill your information? Little Snitch may help.
PS: Perhaps the computer needs to go into Apple & have a genius
or product specialist at AASP test the unit thoroughly... BlueTooth?

You need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them. But a lot of USB memory sticks need more power than is supplied to the kit, so you may need a powered hub between it and kit.

  • HT3215 Does anyone know the best (or acceptable) outputs (v and mA) for AC-USB chargers?  I have a few post-market choices, and I can't get the specs for the bona fide Apple $29 charger.

  • Does anyone have problems with the lightening to USB cable when charging from an outlet? After 6  months of use, it seems to wear out as a result of twisting caused by using the iPad while charging?

Does anyone else have problems with the lightening to USB cables, particularly the longer version, when using the iPad and charging at the same time?
If so, am I doing anything wrong?

Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!
    Thanks for the advice, Bee

  • I use an iMac (27" 3.4) and have problems with the Magic Mouse. It does not use contact, but opens useless and unrelated submenus with every click, even on the empty desktop. I can't shift, open or close pages. Has anyone out there the same problem?

I use an iMac 27" (mid 2011). Until recently I had OSX 10.6.8 installed, but both, the HDD and SSD had to be replaced, and I lost all the memory.
After the repair through Apple Care I had OSX 10.7.5. (Lion) installed, which developed a Magic Mouse problem.
Unlike with most users, I have no problems with connection, but grapple with a different kind of erratic behaviour.
All fancy stuff is turned off in the mouse preferences. When I try to move, open or close pages, unrelated submenus pop up and hinder the
required task. No matter how often I click, these menus stay there, and they even come up when clicking on the bare desktop.
It renders the mouse absolutely useless, as no work can be done with it.
The first 'Magic Mouse' had depleted batteries every few days, despite switching it off after use.
I was supplied a new Mouse, which does better battery-wise, but the problems are the same. I can't get a result by clicking on any link, due to
the pop-up menus, so both 'Magic Mice' are totally useless.
At present I am using the old USB mouse from my Mac Pro, and that works still o.k.
The problem are not the mice, but the software. The first 2 weeks after installation of OSX 10.7.5 the Magic Mouse worked though.
I have no idea as to what the reason may be.
Has anyone in the community ever experienced that particular problem. Any hint would be welcomed.
    Thank you!

  • Has anyone used the QuickUSB module (Bitswise Systems) to interface to a USB Camera via IMAQ for USB?

Has anyone used the QuickUSB module made by Bitwise Systems with LabVIEW for image acquisition.   I have a USB camera and I'm trying to use the IMAQ for USB controls to no avail.   Any input is appreciated.

Are you using the NI-IMAQ for USB functions or are you calling the QuickUSB libraries from LabVIEW?  Unless the USB camera is DirectShow compliant, then it will not work with the NI-IMAQ for USB driver.  You can use the Code Interface Node in LabVIEW to call external dll's, and it looks like from QuickUSB's website that is the best way to go.  Hope this helps.

I have a Lacie External hdd and on usb 3. Now If I plug in the device it shows a message to connect to windows or mac (Parallels installed) so If I click on mac it works fine well and good but when I select connect to windows it shows a error.
The error that pops up is:
The device "Lacie Rugged USB3-FW" was unable to connect to its ideal host controller.
Please anyone could suggest what the solution could be?

I am not able to restore my iPod touch.I have forgotten the passcode.I am geeting error 3194 when i try to restore it.
Anyone out there who can help me out ??

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.
