Have brand new iPad 2 16G 3G and can't get past the first screen saying 'connect to iTunes' even though the usb is connected to my computer which has iTunes downloaded. We bought 3 iPads and I configured my sons ok but the other 2 are not working.

    Have you tried pulling the batteries out of the damaged ones so that they are completely off; then shutdown your Mac Mini via the power button on the back right. Turn on your new keyboard and trackpad then power your Mini back up? The auto detection should find your new keyboard and trackpad.

    Well, what other methods have you tried that didn't work?  Frankly, your post reads as a hoax, but I have some extra time on my hands, and an idea.  Make an appointment with the Apple Genius at your local Apple store.  You could also bring your MBP to an AASP.  Regardless, either one should be able to remove the bottom cover, and use a plastic thingy (dang, what is that tool called?) to push out the offending bit.

                     Hard reset
    1. Press and Hold power button till the laptop turns off (5-7 sec approx).
                2. Then unplug the AC adaptor.
                3. Turn the laptop upside down.
                4. Then remove battery.
                5. Then press and hold the power button for 2 minutes (to remove static electricity).
                6. Then, put the battery back in the notebook and plug in AC adaptor and turn on the laptop.
    Re-installing battery drivers:
    1. Click Start and type device in the search field, then select Device Manager .
    2. Click on + sign beside the Keyboard category.
    3. Under the Keyboard category, right-click the Microsoft ps1/ps2 driver, and select Uninstall.
    Note: Do not remove the Microsoft AC Adapter driver or any other ACPI compliant driver.
    4. On the Device Manager taskbar, click Scan for hardware changes.
    I tried installing latest Bios software.

    Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Notebook and the shift keys not working correctly. I find that in most cases a keyboard that stops responding or some keys don't work is generally a keyboard is stuck cleaning might be the only option. Here is a document on how to clean the keyboard.
    If a small vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment is available, use it to clear the keyboard of debris. A can of compressed air can be used to blow out particles that get in between the keys. I would be happy to assist if needed. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

  • I need help.  My three boys have brand new iPad mini's and I would like to set them up.  I would like to create one new apple ID and have it shared by all three.  This way they can share content (apps, music).  How do I do that?

    Looking for an information management solution.  I have three boys that have brand new ipad mini's.  I would like to set them up to manage information the easiest way. 
    My first thought was to use my apple ID for their apps and purchases.  This would give me the advantage of seeing everything downloaded and be able to monitor this closely.  The disadvantage to me, was that they would see all of my contracts, my apps, and my music. 
    My other thought was to create one new apple ID and to share that among the three boys.  This way I would not have to worry about my information being on their ipads. 
    This is a very confusing situation for me.  My goal is seperate my stuff from my kids stuff.  Appreicate input from anyone who has in-depth experience with this as it applies to apple ID, icloud ID, and any detailed explaination of how to do this would be appreiciated.  Thanks. 

    I think I will do this.  I will use my apple ID and set face time and message to work independently.  That solves one problrem.  My other problem and maybe my bigger problem is that if I am using my apple ID, how do I iflter all of this so that my kids don't see my contacts, get my apps, etc. ?

I made sure that the cartridges bleed out very well (on a damp paper towel until ink bleeds out) yet the characters come out very skipped, lined and in short, look terrible. Both printers should have been covered under the lawsuit against HP but I've yet to see a dime and I've been through more cartridges than I can count. With that said, I'm open to hearing any type of device short of thrilling the printer out the window of a 30 story building window because they both should work quite well. Any suggestions, ideas or what should I do next because I'm quite frustrated and the money doesn't grow on trees in my neighborhood or checking account.     FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
    DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
    3. Repeat the process if necessary.

    My keyboard stopped working so I went to the apple store to replace it with another one. Now I am back home and the keys at the very top are not working correctly (volumn  F12 shows the dashboard, F11 takes the screen up and away, F8 pause button shows spaces, etc.).     All new keyboards need Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and above for full functionality.
    Rather short-sighted of Apple perhaps, but that seems to be a trend these days.
    I'm afraid the only fix is to upgrade to SL. Personaly, I'd take it back and get a refund and seek an older keyboard or a third-party one elsewhere.

    Sure, you can get around it if you don't need the newest version of iTunes. I still use version 7.5 because the newer versions didn't strike me as offering anything I needed.
    If you do need a version 10-something then you will have to upgrade your operating system to Leopard (fi your computer will support it) at least.  If you need 10.5 for some reason then there's no getting around it, you will have to buy a new computer.

    I do NOT like using my credit card if I don't have to, and I went out of my way to go buy an Apple gift card, which I successfully redeemed into my Apple account. However, when I use the Apple "Cards" app, it will not let me use anything other than my credit card. I tried purchasing a card, hopefulling it would come out of my Apple store balance, but no such luck -- it came out of my credit card.
    Apple is becoming more like Microsoft every day.

    From what I gather, you have a payment method selected for your iTunes Store account which isn’t being accepted when setting up Family Sharing.
    Take a look at the he article linked below provides, which provides a lot of great information about Family Sharing, and make sure you're trying to use a valid payment method for setting up Family Sharing.

    One adult in the family—the family organizer—can set up Family Sharing for the group from their iOS device or Mac. When you set up Family Sharing, you'll be asked to confirm that you agree to pay for purchases initiated by the family members you invite and that you have a valid payment method on file.
