Have changed Apple ID (and email address).i cloud mail still shows old ID. Cannot delete it or use it.
Have changed Apple ID as I have new email address. I cloud mail still shows old ID(email address) and since new download with IO7 cannot use new password and therefore cannot use iCloud mail or indeed delete account. How do I get it to recognise new user ID which is fully recognised in Apple website?

Welcome to the Apple community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again. -
Changing users UID and email addresses
Hello all,
I have been asked to see what would be involved in changing users uid and email addresses. We have used a format of the first 4 letters of the last name and the first four letters of the last name for many years.
What would be the best way to say change the UID and email address to the users full name. I know I will also have to change the mail store because of the UID's.

1. Temporarily change the e-mail address to a dummy. Put the user in "inactive".
2. Create a new uid, with the correct mail address.
3. Use imsbackup, mboxutil, or MoveUser to move the mails over.

Right, if the Apple ID is already set up, then you cannot change it to None until you put a credit card on the account.
If you set up a brand new Apple ID by first downloading a Free app, and then setting up the ID as a part of that process, then it can be None.

I am trying to delete duplicate content in my iTunes library. I have stopped the download and I can see them on VIEW>Displaying Duplicates, but cannot delete them with the Delete button. Can anyone assist?
If you've paused the download (they are partially greyed out on the duplicates screen ?) then you will need to delete them from download window, you can't (as far as I know) delete partially downloaded items from that screen. When you have items downloading, or downloads that are paused, you should have a downward pointing arrow at the top right of the iTunes screen
If you click that arrow you should get a popup window with the items that are downloading/paused - and you should be able to select and delete them (or resume their download) from there. -
If I delete my icloud account so that I can get one that matches my apple id and email and password that I updated due to a new email address, will I lose my contacts and pics and calendars on phone that were synched to icloud. It keeps warning me when i go to delete that any contacts etc saved in the cloud for the device will be lost. If I cant delete this icloud account how will i ever have one that has working email, etc. or attached to my apple id account. I can't even download apps on my phone now bcause it says my id or password is wrong but the account name id on phone and cloud shows up as old inactive address. I can't even retype current one in box
If all you did was rename your ID, you can go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with your renamed ID. Deleting the account only deletes the account and any data you are syncing with iCloud from your phone, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts, your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.
If, however, you are changing to a new account with a new ID, choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted. Then choose Merge when you sign into the new account and turn your iCloud syncing back on to upload your data to the new account.
Before deleting the account, save you photo stream photos to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll). -
Change apple id to email address
i would like to change my apple id so that it would be the same as my email address but when i edit it on 'My Apple ID', it says 'that email address is used'. i also clicked the 'make your apple id and email one and the same' option but still no change. how long do i have to wait for it? am i doing something wrong? please help. thanks
Call 1-800-M&-APPLE, unless you can find a contact link on the My AppleID pages. I'm not entering that morass, so that'll be up to you. Good luck.

I am unable to find where to change my iTunes Store username and email address. There's nowhere on this site to be able to change it. Can I only change it through iTunes?
You can edit your Apple ID(which is your iTunes Store account name) via Apple's My Apple ID website https://appleid.apple.com/com by following these steps:
1.) Click "Manage your account" on the right hand side of the page.
2.) Click edit next to your Apple ID and Primary Email Address.
3.) Edit your account name to the desired email address.
4.) Click Save Changes.

Apps are permanently tied to the ID and password used to purchase them. If you do not remember that information, you cannot update them. If you ned these apps, you will have to repurchase them under your new ID.

on your phone go to settings - app store - apple id - sign out - then sign in with your new email address.

I'm new to my iPad & Apple!
I have updated/ changed details within my Apple ID; email, contact details and changed password.
This has worked & recognised when using updated password for use with Apple's web site (e.g. Able to login to this site) & all other apps with the EXCEPTION of iCloud and also my actual iPad ("internal/own" software/OS I would presume?!).
Shortly after turning my iPad on, the Apple ID request pops up showing my old email address. I have tried entering old & new passwords which both fail. I now cancel this request and continue ok.
This also happens with iCloud: as just mentioned, the request for Apple ID comes up with old email address and neither old or new passwords are accepted (& therefore I can not back-up to iCloud).
Can anyone help please?

(Maybe I should mention that while I live in the UK; Scotland, I am currently on holiday in France while I have made further changes to my ID password, though was at home when made initial changes).I have resolved this problem!
I try &change my email details within my iPad's iCloud settings. Though the primary (old) email could not be changed.
So I took advice from further searches here & on the iCloud site & went ahead and deleted my iCloud account. Success! Immediately after deleting the account I had a request to open & login to a new iCloud account with my new Apple ID login details already there (showing my new email address & requesting my password- all which worked fine). Also I have not lost any files.
I hope that this may help someone else in the future.

I have changed my apple e-mail address in itunes and apple successfuly but now, every time I use my iphone 5 it is asking me to sign in but it still has my old e-mail address there so when I enter my password it says wrong id or password. In settings it will not allow me to change to my new password. How do I get around this problem please?

Do not see hoe to creat another password for iCloud and have forgotten original ThanksTry temporarily recreating the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then use the password for your current ID to sign out of the account on your Mac (even if it prompts you for the password for the old ID). If you can sign out, choose Delete at all of the prompts (your data will still be in iCloud), then go back and change your ID back to the new email address again and sign in with it on your Mac.
