Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Errors when updating leads to corrupt system files and this may be your problem. If you're using windows, connect your device to PC and run any third party app like Syncios. If it detects, you maybe in luck and try to back-up your data if possible. I hope that it won't and if doesn't, there is no other way to recover files. You should be restoring with iTunes and all data will be erased, or else your device may become unusable.

  • I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes several times now, and it still states that I have not downloaded the 64 bit version and therefore my iphone 5s cannot sync.

I have contacted apple support and followed the steps to uninstall itunes on my laptop, and then reinstalled itunes from the apple website. and when i connect my iphone to my computer it states that it cannot sync due to it not being the 64-bit version. I have done this at least 3 times now and it still won't connect. I am beyond frustrated. Granted, I use a PC for itunes as opposed to a Mac. However, I have never experienced this many problems and difficulties in the past. I have been use an ipod or iphone for at least 10 years.

    First, plug off your iPod.
Then uninstall iTunes + all of Apple services (google them).
    Restart the PC.
    Install iTunes.
If that doesn't help, try this:

You should consider moving to Windows 7.

  • TS4424 I have done these steps 3 times now and I still can't open mail.

Mail is in the Applications folder, not in any subfolder; it's never been anywhere else. There is only Mail application on my computer, and it still won't open! Help!
I have downloaded the MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.dmg and SecUpd2012-004.dmg updates and restarted my computer.  I've done this process 3 times.  Before the first time, I deleted the non-working Mail from my computer.  After each set of updates, I checked the mail application and it still did not work.
All I did was update when it prompted, just like normal, just like every update - and now my Mail application seems lost forever.  Why would this happen on a non-related update?!
I have searched a few threads, and many say the same thing about the 2 updates above.  Does anyone else have any other solutions?  Can I re-download the Mail application from somewhere without having to pay for it?

Same thing happened to me-got same message box. I am totally not computer savy! I tried lots of fixes that I read on here but nothing helped me except one (link below).I had problem about 6 months ago after update and restored mail in my time machine. So I had more than one "mail" listed in my application folder. I wasnt sure which one I could delete or if I could back then so I just left it-so there were several MAILs with different names. Apparently that's where the problem began with the new security update. I read on link below that you need to get rid of all other mails except the original so it be the original MAIL and should just say "MAIL" not "MAIL(original)" like mine did. I went into my Time Machine all the way back to when I first got computer -searched under applications for mail- found it (the one with little stamp symbol icon) highlighted it and hit restore. Threw all the other "present" versions in trash.(Not sure if they were left on desktop if it would work??-just had to be careful not to empty trash just in case this didnt  work because I was really not sure if it was gonna work and I would lose previous MAIL applications and all my past emails) I threw all the weird little new pencil icon application versions of MAIL  away too(the ones I couldn't open). Searched in my present application so only one original MAIL that I pulled from TM was on there. Before that-in all my troubleshooting- I had downloaded the latest security update and the latest Java for mac update (my OS is snow leopard so it was the first one and security update was on the next page-but make sure you get regular one not server one-it's confusing -there are two for snow leopard) http://support.apple.com/downloads/ I dont think it matters that you have to keep downloading the upodates because I did several times. I think it just matters when you run it each time you switch things around and remember to restart your computer. And not ouch anything before you restart. So I threw out all the old MAILS except for one I pulled of TM. Then I reran the security update that I downlaoded and restarted the computer. It was the first time that-when I restarted-my mail icon didnt turn into a litle pencil and paper icon. It remained a stamp. So I clicked on it (the one in applications folder-I deleted the one on the bbar at the bottom previuosly) and IT WORKED. Others have said their MAIL application was not in the applications folder and missing somewhere else on their computer -that's all they needed to do to fix it-move it to the applications folder. Mine was more complicated. Hope you get it working. I've spent the last 4 hrs working on a fix for mine. Ugh. Good luck!

I recently created a new apple ID
    Bad idea.
Content bought with an Apple ID is forever associated with that Apple ID. Apple will not transfer content from one Apple ID to another and Apple will not merge Apple IDs. Unless you are prepared to forfeit all the previously purchased content and buy it all again with the new Apple ID, you will need to maintain the old ID to update and redownload your content.

  • I have sent files several times now and when the recipient clicks the link to open. it says page cannot be found.  This just started happening.  what needs to be corrected?

In Adobe Send, I have sent files several times now and when the recipient clicks the link to open, it says page cannot be found.  This just started happening.  What needs to be corrected?

I can think of a couple of reasons for this behavior.
You inadvertently turned off the sharing for the files.
The link that the user is clicking on is incomplete; perhaps it got broken across lines in an email message. Are you sending Anonymous Links or Personalized Invitations? If the former, are you certain that you copied the entire link?
    Some things to try.
Have the user send the link back to you so that you can test it. Does it work for you?
If you look at your Sent Files list, is the name in the Sent To column struck through (e.g., John Smith)? That would indicate that it has been unshared.
If you could get back to me with answers, perhaps we can get to the bottom of this.

  • Just upgraded and iPhoto said it has to upgrade library but keeps freezing. Have tried it too many times now and I need those photos ASAP  HELP!!

Just upgraded and iPhoto said it has to upgrade library but keeps freezing. Have tried it too many times now and I need those photos ASAP  HELP!!

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
    Regards

  • My iTunes parent control keeps giving me the same error message. "Parent control preferences could not be unlocked. You may need to reinstall iTunes. "I have uninstalled ant reinstalled iTunes that 4 time now and I still can't get on. Can anyone help?

My iTunes parent control keeps giving me the same error message. “Parent control preferences could not be unlocked. You may need to reinstall iTunes. “I have uninstalled ant reinstalled iTunes that 4 time now and I still can’t get on. Can anyone help?

Experimental advice ... but, plausibly, the preference files containing the parental control setting may be damaged. If so, removing the iTunes preference files may help.
For the basic technique, see the "Remove iTunes preference files" section from the "User-specific troubleshooting" section of the following document:
iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
To see those folders, you'll need to first set your PC to view hidden files and folders
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Prior to doing the preference file rebuilds: Best to make a note of any custom preferences you have set up for your iTunes. (Rebuilding pref files returns preferences to their defaults ... so you'll likely have to set some of those custom preferences up again from scratch.) Also make a note of any third-party plugins/add-ons you have installed. You may have to reinstall those after the rebuilds.
Things to watch out for during the rebuilds
Rebuilding the preference files in the \Local\ location causes the iTunes license agreement to run. So you'll need to agree to that again.
Rebuilding the preference files in the \Roaming\ location causes the iTunes Setup Assistant to run. When prompted to do so, do not add files to your iTunes library. (Otherwise you'll end up with a library full of duplicates.)

  • I just downloaded IOS 6.1.2 and it won't recognize my password.  I have reset it on my Apple ID and it still says it's incorrect.

I just downloaded IOS 6.1.2 on my iPhone 4  and it won't recognize my password.  I have reset it on my Apple ID and it still says it's incorrect.  What do I need to do?

There are two more things to try. If the first thing you try fails, try the next.
    Two Button Reset.
This is the least likely to result in loss of data.  Read that again, especially the phrase "least likley."
Unplug the phone form the computer.
Press and hold both the home and the sleep/wake buttons (ignore the red slider) until you see the silver Apple logo.
When you see the logo, let both buttons go.
If this worked, you should see an icon instructing you to connect to iTunes.  My guess is that the reset did not work.
    DFU Restore
This will very likley result in loss of data.
Plug the iPhone into the computer.
Ensure that it is running the lates version of iTunes and that it has access to the internet.
Press and hold both the home and sleep/wake buttons for exactly eight seconds.
Release only the sleep/wake button but continue to hold the home button for another five seconds.
Let go of the home button, then look at the computer screen for an instructional popup.
The popup should say "iTunes has detected a device in covery mode. . .(etc)"  Click accept to all boxes and let iTunes download and install all of the latest device Firmware and Software.
If no popup appears, repeat the above DFU instructions.  If you 've never done a DFU, it may take about three attempts to get the timing right.

  • Hello, I have a 2009 iMac, and my harddrive has failed several times now, and now I need to re-install snow leopard but my install DVD is damaged and I have bought a new snow leopard disc. However my iMac will not read the disc at all ?

Hello, I have a 2009 iMac, and my harddrive has failed several times now.
I tired to reinstall snow leopard with the install DVD that came with my iMac. However the disc is damaged so I bought a new Snow Leopard but my iMac wont read the new disc, it just stays in the apple logo screen, I have tired safe boot, holding down the "C" key on startup and tried using disc utility but getting nowhere.
    Please help. Thanks.

Might be related, if your hard drive is a 1TB drive,it could be a Seagate drive.
The drives are known to fail and your iMac maybe covered for free replacement under the Apple's Seagate hard drive replacement program until April 12 of this year.
I Believe the 2009 models are covered under this replacement warranty.
You can find out if you are eligible here.
