Have CS 3; am installing CS 5.5
Hello,
I currently have Web Premium CS3, InDesign 4. I am installing CS 5.5 design premium. Not an upgrade......purchased through a company that sells reasonably to non-profits. They emailed me the License Key. There are no instructions except on the DVD.
From reading Adobe forums I have gathered this:
1. I should deactivate CS 3, and ID 4.
2. I should uninstall them.
3. Then I should install CS 5.5 (I have DVD)
I'm not a power user....mostly used Dreamweaver and In Design.
1.What files do I need to save or back-up from CS3?
2. How do I save my website info....or will it be imported into CS 5.5?
3. What is this cleanup program I see referred to?
I'm trying to avoid downtime and frustrating error messages. Any other things I should know? Murphy's law always applies to me when I try to uninstall and install something.

I would recommend posting regarding Dreamweaver to the Dreamweaver forum - http://forums.adobe.com/community/dreamweaver/dreamweaver_general.
For #2 it is not required that you remove the previous version. Especially if you are collaborating with other users using older versions it might be useful to keep the older version. Also if you need to get a project done it might be useful to have the version you are use to and then learn CS5.5 when you have more time.
Finally for #3 the clean up tool is utilized if you are having difficulty uninstalling the software. It is also used sometimes when there has been an unsuccessful installation and we need to back that installation out before installing again. It should always be used after you have ran through the normal install process. I have an Epson printer on a Wifi network. Windows 7 desktop is running the network, and my wife's HP Win 7 laptop prints to it just fine. My MacBook Pro running Yosemite won't detect it, and I do have the latest driver installed. I didn't have a problem when I had a Canon Pixma on the network, but when I replaced it with the Epson nothing seems to work. I go to add a printer to the queue and only the FAX function of the printer shows up - not the WS-4530 print function. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Please??? :-)

As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.

@Why is it when I go to open a file in Photoshop cc I get a "Could not complete your request because of a program error". I have uninstalled and re-installed software, It works for a short time then I get that error again when i go to open a file. Thank you!
Without proper system information and other details like what files you work with nobody can tell you much. From corrupted prefs to issues with your PS swap file to actual problems with the fiel storage this could be anything.

Can I have an Action file install when a ZXP is opened in Extension Manager for CC 2014?
I have an extension that I'm packaging as a .zxp file. I'm using Adobe Exchange Packager and setting to the proper install location for the files for the extension.
However, my extension requires an action file (.atn) is installed in the user's Actions panel. Of course, I can include the .atn file in my package and copy it to a folder on the user's computer.... BUT, is there any way I can include that .atn file in the .zxp package and when Extension Manager unpacks the files, it INSTALLS the included .atn file into the user's version of Photoshop? So, this way the .atn file is already installed in the user's Actions panel after the extension installs through Extension Manager...so the user doesn't have to worry about installing the .atn file as well?
(If there were a folder to place the .atn file into, I could do that, but I do not believe that there are any folders for CC 2014 that hold .atn files in which the panel will read, if at first not installed in the normal way. I believe this is new for CC, and that the actions are held in a .psp file.)I am not sure about the .atn file location but it sounds like you want to create a 'hybrid' extension.
You create a .ZXP containing your CS extension and then create an MXI file which includes the .ZXP and .atn file.
You would then wrap this into another .ZXP which will be used as the installer.

why is it when i update my status on facebook from iphone it splits the updates into two differents boxes with some funky symbols at the beginning.. I have quicktime player 10 installed on my mac and it is considered the (default) player. How can I get my Quicktime 7 Pro as my default player? When I downloaded video from my phone, I couldn't hear the sound because Quicktime player 10 automatically opened the file and there was no sound, When I opened the file in quicktime 7 Pro, the audio was fine. I would prefer to have all movie files open automatically using my Pro version. Any suggestions? When I trashed the QT player 10 and clicked on the .3g2 movie file, it didn't automatically open with QT 7 Pro. Instead a window opened wanting to convert the file to Flash. I don't want that to happen.

Goto File > Get Info or (CMD I)
In the Get Info window, scroll down to "Open with:"
Select the player you want to open the music file.
Click the "Change All..." button if you want to
"Use this application to open all documents like this.” -
I am trying to install a program on my Mac Book Pro Retina from a Apple SuperDrive. Every time I run the installer, it says I do not have enough memory to install. However, I definitely have enough memory (186.74 GB). The program takes only 550 MB. Any ideas why?
Thanks for the clarification on the terms. I consider myself proficent at my computer, but not exactly in its inner-workings! I have 8 GB of memory installed.
I am still confused as to why I do not have any space for the program. This is the exact error message I get: "There is not enough free space on Macintosh HD disk. The Print Shop 2 application requires about 550 MB to be installed. Free some disk space and try again."

I can't open some videos--they say I need Flash Player but Adobe says I have successfully installed the latest 64-bit version. It doesn't show in the list of all programs but it is on the "uninstall" list. I have uninstalled the old version
Flash Player works if I use Explorer or ChromeYour More system details list shows that you have the Flash plugin installed.

I have downloaded, extracted and installed Elements 12 but it will not open nor can I find the Adobe file in the file where I installed it to.. When I've tried to download and install again it says that the "Object Already Exists." It may exists, but it is not visible in the file or in my list of programs on the Startup Menu.

You should not have to uninstall Premiere Elements 12/12.1 in order to install and run Premiere Elements 13 on the same computer unless your computer is overloaded and the computer resources are compromised. Just use one program at a time.
Can you still use 12/12.1 on this same computer that will not let you use 13?
What specific Window operating system are you using?
Let us go through the usual drill...
1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
2. Are you using a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
3. Did you install the program with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
4. Disable the SLCache Folder found in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit
Local Disk C
Program Files (x86)
Common Files
Adobe
and in the Adobe Folder should be the SL Cache Folder that you delete or disable by renaming the Folder
from SLCache to SLCacheOLD.
5. Are you running the program as Administrator and is the latest version of QuickTime installed on the same
computer as Premiere Elements 13?

Some files in "DOCUMENTS" icon in dock won't open. Get msg saying "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document." Already have Pages 4.1 installed. Same files will open ok from Finder/Pages App./selected file. Prob not noted until recently after sync'd with ipad2 (Pages) when I installed iOS5. Anyone-- please?!
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

All using the same driver
I have a Canon printer that has a rear tray and a bottom tray
So, I will have one printer that prints to the rear and the other to the bottom
Other printers (the same one) will be set so that they print in high quality and in duplex for example
I'll name the printers 1.Canon 2.Canon 3.Canon etc
So, when I go to print, I just hit a number on the keyboard and the printer I want is selected
Can I do the same on my laptop?

In the case you cite:

as Faces, right?
In the Corkboard view click on Mother Maiden Name and delete the 'Maiden Name'.
It will disappear and all the photos will be in the Mother face.
Note that 'Mother' and 'Mother ' (that is, with a trailing space) are not the same.
You can also just edit the name 'Mother Maiden Name' to 'Mother'
As for photos staying in manual sort, I can only say that mine do. But as I've no idea what troubleshooting steps you've used.

Generally YES.
It's possible to hold separate iTunes library's on a single machine.
Generate two new folders inside the Music folder of the Mini and name them differently; e.g. man and woman.
Copy your whole library into "man" and your wifes into "woman"
Go to sharing in the system settings of the Mini and share the Music folder in your network.
After copying the whole library's to the Mini you may point iTunes to the new location at startup by holding the option key (alt) at the keyboard.
iTunes will then ask you where the library is located.
Point it to the matching library on the Mini.
That's all.

PS ... If you both use only the Mini you have to setup a user account for each and just copy the whole library to the Music folder in particular.

I have just tried to install the full version of Anthill to my iPod touch Gen 4. I get a message on the iPod saying "Anthill failed to install" and an error on the computer "OxE8000004". I already had Anthill Free installed so deleted it in case it was interferring with the new download. I can install other free apps but now can't even install Anthill Free. I have tried the 7 resolution steps advised by Apple and have totally run out of ideas as to what I can try next. I am using a new laptop since installing Anthill Free the first time and am now running Windows 7, otherwise everything else is the same. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks.
