HAVE CS5 UPGRADE IN COMPUTER CAN'T REMOVE CS4

Need help i have CS3 and CS4 and CS5 all upgrades on my pc if i remove the older versions then CS5 does not work properly
any suggestions ???

They are all independant programs and can co-exist on same
computer. However, open Task Manager and in Processes tab make sure Bridge is not running in background (autostart option).
You can only have one version of Bridge running at the same time.

1. one application at a time [in CS5.5 I can uninstall & deactivate multiple applications, which is much more convenient]
2. deactivation must be done on the physical computer which hosts the application instance.

Feature Request: remote deactivation of applications by informing adobe to deactivate while logged in on adobe account. This cleanly solves two problems:
1. forgetting to deactivate s/w prior to scrubbing a computer which is leaving service
2. needing to run on a third computer w/o violating the adobe license. [several people have posted queries about this because they have a desk computer and two laptops or are temporarily using someone else's computer]

You can have both Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Photoshop CS6 on the same system and both will work fine.
In case you need to remove photoshop CS6 from your system, you will first have to deactivate it so save the activation count which you can use it for the future to reactivate.
Activation:
Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
Start the application.
Choose Help > Deactivate and choose one of the following options.
Deactivate or Suspend Activation. These options deactivate the software but retain licensing information. Choose one of these options if you want to temporarily deactivate the software, and you're planning to activate on this computer again.
Deactivate permanently. This option deactivates the software and removes the licensing information from your computer. Enter the serial number again if you want to use the software on this computer.
Deactivation:
CS6: You log in with your Adobe ID to activate your software when you install it or within the first seven days of use. Follow the steps below.
Steps:
Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet.
Start the application.
Choose Help > Activate. (If this option is dimmed, you've already activated your software)
Log in with your Adobe ID (usually your email address) to activate your software. If you don’t have an Adobe ID, you see an option to create one.
Optional (CS5 & earlier): After you activate, also register your Adobe product for faster and easier access to support and upgrades.

You can't upgrade to any faster, & especially not to an Intel CPU needed to run Lion/10.7 for full iCloud usage.
You can have limited use of iCloud the way it is, you can view all of iCloud in a Browser, You can use Find my Phone I hear, & you can use IMAP Mail for syncing, but no other syncing.

No. That would be against the letters and the legal spirit of the EULA and that aside it's not possible for technical reasons. Either you make a platform swap, in which case you will lose your PC licenses of course, or you buy a second CS6 license for your Mac(s) and keep your CS5 on the PCs.

I just literally spent the last 2 1/2 hours on chat with adobe technical to find they say its no longer supported and i have to upgrade for tons of money??
I originally got the disks through college bookstore for a lot less than what the upgrade is.
Is there anyway to install and make the disks I have work??

Going through the same thing myself - finding that chat support requires patience.
One thing I found was a page where you can enter either your original coupon code OR the email of the original installation (which I used) I then got a list of serial numbers associated with my email.
It came back with a bunch of different serial numbers.
They have changed the serial number format !!
It now has 5 characters and after that 6 groups of 5 numbers.
I found I have one of these !?
Now if I can just get an authorization I can hopefully install CS3 on my new computer.

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "VSearch" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.

I don't think anyone here will be able to identify which trojan that is, or whether, even, it's a Mac trojan. I would contact them. Only they will know what that code is supposed to mean.
BTW, there is no such animal as a trojan horse virus. There are trojans and viruses, two entirely different things. Thre are no viruses at all for Mac.

Considering all the uselessness of Premiere and Encore CS4 on the mac, should Adobe give free CS5 upgrades to make up for its irresponsible release of a half-useful Premiere, and an utterly useless Encore?

Very simple SD projects... lots of short clips digitized from 8mm analog tape via Dv500 card
No effects (well... sometimes a slight bit of "lighten" due to dark filming) and very simple transitions or rolling titles to introduce a scene

The way I read it, if you follow the licensing agreement to the letter, though you are allowed to install the software on up to 2 computers, you are neither allowed to actually use it on more than one computer at the same time nor is a second person allowed to use it.
Regarding your specific question, the pertinent paragraph seems to be (emphasis mine):
5. Updates.If the Software is an upgrade or update to a previous version of Adobe software, you must possess a valid license to such previous version in order to use such upgrade or update. After you install such update or upgrade, you may continue to use any such previous version in accordance with its end-user license agreement only if (a) the upgrade or update and all previous versions are installed on the same Computer, (b) the previous versions or copies thereof are not transferred to another party or device unless all copies of the update or upgrade are also transferred to such party or device, and (c) you acknowledge that any obligation Adobe may have to support the previous version(s) may end upon the availability of the upgrade or update. No other use of the previous version(s) is permitted after installation of an update or upgrade. Upgrades and updates may be licensed to you by Adobe with additional or different terms.
Whether you can actually install an upgrade on a different computer and run Photoshop on two computers at once may be a different story.

Hi I recently upgraded with a new computer. I see that when I open my itunes that my old playlist did not transfer to the new computer. I want to transfer my paylist from the old computer to the new one without loosing what I have on my IPOD Nano (7th Gen) at present. I saw that you can link the IPD directly to te computer and download the playlist to my new computer. Okay so I just hook in directly once I have it set up what do I push to transfer the playlist frommy IPOD to the computer> A by-the-number explanation would be appreciated as I am not computersavy and over 60. Serial number, bought with CS4 is no longer visible on my adobe account, I have just upgraded my computer and downloaded the product as I have no disk drive

Bought a student edition, so the serial number was sent through after confirmation process. I just upgraded my laptop and want to install the product. My new computer has no disk drive so I have downloaded CS4. My previous laptop was damaged a while ago and so I have not been using my Adobe account for some time. I now want to find my serial number to activate CS4 and I can't see it anywhere or find an easy way of contacting Adobe. Help.
