Have cursor draw in finished piece

Is there a way in Edge Animate to have the cursor draw line in a final piece? Doesn't need to have a million color or size options just something that draws the movement of the cursor on the final published stage?

I would like to know this as well. If you take a look at Tim's mouse trail particle system at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1096545?tstart=0, you can see that if the particles never got disposed of, it would do what you are asking. But I wonder how quickly doing something like that would consume all available ram.

Use EXTENSION plug-in to Catch cursor-drawing

as mentioned in the automation tutorial document, eventall can only catch the scriptable event. the none scriptable actions such as costom cursor-drawing cannot be catched.
But Kas Thomas has mentioned that the extension plug-in is used to catch the low-lwvwl tasks like custome cursor-drawing.
is there anyone knows how to use this plug-in?

I too would love to create an Extension plugin but I don't think you can with the SDK.
From "Photoshop API Guide.pdf":

Note at the end it says "Their interface is not public." :(

I've kinda worked around this by making an automation plugin and calling it via command line when Photoshop starts.

I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?

Do you have the 4 puzzle pieces in 4 separate files? If that is the case...
1. Create a blank canvas large enough to fit the completed puzzle.
2. Open one of the piece files.
3. Select just the piece (minus the background).
4. Copy the selection to the clipboard (Edit > Copy).
5. Activate the canvas and paste from the clipboard (Edit > Paste). The piece will be placed on a new layer with transparent background.
6. Do the same with the other pieces.
7. Now you can rotate/move the pieces as necessary to fit them together.
If the 4 pieces originally are in the same file you can do similar: select each piece and copy/paste, etc.
If this is not your scenario please clarify.

How to have flash draw pad save a pdf from user side?

I have found many drawing pad solutions. Some good, some not as good. All of them, however, fail to show how to save the file as a pdf (would be happy with bmp right about now) from the drawing pad to a server side folder via php. Can someone show how to do that using as3?
On the advanced side, I also need to figure out how to make it recognize logged in users of the preexisting CMS in order to save out to specific user folders. The CMS is Joomla 1.5 latest build, with JomSocial and JSPT multi profile. It would save out to folders created by the JMarketPro system.

you can save as a jpeg using jpegencoder and you can save as pdf using blazepdf (but you'll need to load the swf with blazepdf because that's an as2 component).

Custom Cursors- drawing bitmaps?

I went on to www.youtube.com and found a tutorial to set up
custom cursor using the actionscript(2.0) on the actualt movie
clip(which was my cursor):
onClipEvent(enterFrame)
_x=_root._xmouse
_y=_root._ymouse
And the actionscript on the acutal frame:
Mouse.hide()
This code sufficiantly replaced my mouse with my movie clip,
but I noticed when i moused over my button, they did not show the
same mouse over that I had with the normal mouse.
Another thing I could like to acomplish is, when my custom
cursor click anywhere in the flash movie, it overlays a bitmap(an
image(a .jpeg)) on that instance of that flash movie. I've seen it
done before in flash sites that allow that user to create things
such as characters or art. I know it's posible, but I've searched
all of the internet and have gained no fruit from it.
If anyone would be so kind as to show me how to go this, or
even simply point me to a link. I would be very greatful. If I do
get it working, I'll be sure to share it with the community, as
what I'm gonna use it for is pretty cool in my opinion.

I can't draw straight lines for fill-in-the-blank on tests and worksheets. The draw-it-yourself ooption gives me thick lines and is time-consuming. So, after all these years, do I have to go back to using a ruler and a pen?

In Pages v5.0.1, the straight lines are already drawn for you in the Shape Tool. Before we go there, select Menu > View > Show Ruler.
When you click on Shape in the Pages toolbar, the top left line is straight. Click it. It will drop into your document in a 45 degree angle. Grab the lower left selection grip and drag it up and to the right to position the horizontal line in the length of your choice. Use the Format: Style tab to manage the stroke weight. You can also choose Menu > Edit > Duplicate Selection (command+D) as a productivity tool.
If you move from the Format: Style tab to the Arrange tab, you can compare the start and end points with where you want the line positioned on the ruler. Once you have it positioned, notice the Lock button, also on the Format: Arrange tab.

Insert Video into finished piece on timeline

I finished a video and need to add about 4 seconds to a couple of shots. Adding those 4 seconds slides everything on the timeline and affects music and transitions throughout the rest of the video. Is there a way to add insert in the middle of a video and not change the rest of the timeline?

Steve, thanks, didn't realize I could do that. Not sure it will help me here but locking the timeline will be extremely useful. Let me be more specific and see if you have a suggestion. I have pictures on multiple layers that overlap with transitions. Basically, I need to add 2 seconds to consecutive pictures. So I don't need to add new clips, just time to exisiting ones. When I do this, all of the transitions for the remaining pictures shift and do not match up. Make sense? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Is it possible to have cursor effect like in camtasia specifically "magnifier, spotlight, etc..

I am currently evaluating captivate 8 as an alternative to camtasia. One effect we like to use on our demo videos is where the whole screen is darkened and there is a spotlight that follows the mouse cursor around. Does anyone know if this is possible in captivate, if so how?
I am also looking for a magnifier effect, that, again follows the mouse and magnifies the surrounding area.
Any help here is appreciated.

Sreekanth, question is about the video demo. Highlight box is static, will not follow the mouse cursor around in the video. You can add such a highlight box but it will remain static.
@future-route Camtasia for pure screencast video is superior to Captivate HD Video demo, and those features prove it. If you only want to make videos, Camtasia is the best tool, but if you want to create interactive eLearning assets, the other features of Captivate cannot be beaten by Camtasia.

I am wondering how to have iPhoto draw all photos from an external hard drive so I don't need to have them all on my iMac?

I would like to save some space on my hard drive but having all pictures on a external hard drive for iPhoto to draw from. I am able to do this on iTunes but do not see how to do this on iPhoto.

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
