Have difficulty sending mail from iPad 2

I am having difficulty sending an e-mail from my iPad 2. I am using Telus as my server and I can't find a solution?

Thanks for contributing your answer and welcome to Apple Discussions!
Pointing out deficiencies in someone's posts is not necessarily insulting and you'll have to take it as an article of faith that when I do set out to be deliberately insulting there is no ambiguity involved. I also do not agree that pointing out those deficiencies is not helpful, as I believe they are: While OP will not have his question answered (nor, indeed, could he have done), both he and others reading the thread might come away with the idea that a bit more care and attention taken in the writing up of their questions will immediately result in more and better and quicker responses and solutions to them.
I'm glad, as we all are, that your solution worked for you and, unlike the vast majority of newer users here, you did at least take the trouble to post it up and share it. Let me ask you, though: What do you plan on doing when OP (stands for Original Poster, btw) comes back with the common, "Yeah, I tried that, it didn't work, what else should I do?" response? Make a few more guesses? Ask a few more questions? Shrug and move along?
The following is the alternate boilerplate that I quite frequently toss up in these sorts of situations which, funnily enough, will also occasionally generate the same sort of reproving responses:
I don't understand what you're saying. Please try the following if you'd like to save yourself and others a lot of time:
Describe what you are trying to do
Describe how you are trying to do it, in as much detail as you can.
Describe what you expect to see or have happen when you do it that way
Describe what you see or what happens instead of what you expected; include any error messages that appear.
Provide some idea of what you have already looked at or already tried doing to fix the problem, along with the results of those attempts.

  • Have problems sending mail from a secure wireless connection. but ok from starbucks

I have several clients here at my marina all using different email providers and they all seem to have problems sending out mail from my secure wireless. They can recieve mail no problem. Now here is where it get weird. I added my gmail account to one of the problem iphones and same thing was happening, when i go to send out an email from my account on their phone it gets stuck trying to send mail. I compaired server setting on my phone to his and everything was that same, even turned off his server from fairpoint(the email he uses) and kept my gmail one and still couldnt send mail from his phone but worked fine on mine. Apple set up this individuals iphone/ipad so it make me think they did something when he had the accounts added. Any thoughts?

  • Sending mail from iPad Safari: How to choose the sender account?

In iOS 7.1 and whatever the most recent version of Safari is:
I'm on a web page and want to mail a link to the page to someone else.  I tap on the "Share" icon (the square with the arrow coming out of it) and get the overlay with the AirDrop icon, the row of Message / Mail / Twitter / etc, and a row of other stuff, and tap "Mail".  Up comes the usual mail form with an empty "To" field and a field marked "Cc/Bcc, From: [email protected]", where "[email protected]" is indeed one of my mail accounts and the one that I want to have the message sent from.  I enter my message and tap Send; the message is sent.
However (finally!), when I look at my copy of the message or the copy received by the recipient, I find that it's been sent not by [email protected], but by [email protected], which is another account I own and have set up on my iPad.  How come?  What happened to [email protected]?  For extra credit, why did Mail come up with [email protected] as the supposed sender (I have several mail accounts set up in my Mail client -- [email protected], [email protected], and several others)?  Any ideas out there about this?  Thanks!

Minor "aha": The answer to the extra credit question is that, down in Settings > Mail, there's a place to pick the Default account -- "Messages created outside of Mial will be sent from this account by default". So why isn't it?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Why can't I send mail from IPad while overseas

Why can't I send mail while overseas? I can receive but al though have placed smtp other server in settings I still cannot send

To get the right scoop for setting up your outgoing server, google your ISP and the words email settings, and you will likely find a page that will give you the settings.  While you are there, see if there is a restriction on where they will send from.  Some US ISPs simply will not send e mail, if you are put of your home territory.  The. Only way around that is a different mail provider, such as gmail, yahoo or whatever.

  • Could not send mails from iPad nor from iMac

    Hello,
very strange. I use Maverick and iCloud. With Mail on my iPad (latest update installed) and on my iMac I cannot send any mail. I receive mails and using iCloud in Safari on my iMac works fine and I also see the sent mails on my iPad and on my iMac.
    Any idea?
    Michael

    Just some more information.
If I check the connection Mail says that the IMAP connection to iCloud is okay and working. But no mail leaves Mail, they stay in the outbox.
I got my to be send mail back on the screen and a window with the message, that there is a time overrun for server „p04-smtp.mail.me.com“ and I should try another server (have e.g. GMX) or try later. Later and e.g. GMX doesn't work either.
    Any help is really appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Having trouble sending mail from iPad. It keeps freezing? Can anyone help?

I am having trouble sending mail as it keeps freezing mid send. Sometimes it takes a couple of days to suddenly send. Rest of iPad working fine. Can anyone help?

    You are welcome!
I enclose the link to show how 'this solved my question' and 'this helped me' work since there is no point in awarding either of them to yourself. As so can see, you do not get any points. It is oly a short read

  • Why can't i send mail from ipad?

I changed my password on my mail account. Now I can receive messages on ipad, but can't send anything because it says settings are incorrect. I have manually changed password. I have deleted iCloud.  Suggstions?

    1.  Make sure you are using the same icloud account for devise and icloud.com
    2.  Go into setting, mail and make sure the password is correct.  I have had that happen and I keep emails on the server and would just delete the account and add it back with the correct password.  See if that works.  This has worked for me in the past.

  • HT1694 Changed password on email account, including in mail settings, and now can't send mail from iPad

My email account account(msn.com) was hacked so I changed my passwod at msn.com and then als0 changed it on myiPad under settings/mail.
Now I cannot send email or photos with email.
Suggestions? I only have an iPad as I am traveling.
I can send emails if I sign in through Safari.

Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

  • Cannot send mail from any mail account

I have a Mac Mini, late 2014 model, running OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2.   I have constant difficulty sending mail from any of my mail accounts; these are iCloud, Googlemail, Yahoo and a personal one which uses 123-reg.co.uk.  I am currently located in Greece, but have been having trouble for ages, even in the UK.  I can receive mail, but I don't seem able to send it.  Error message is usually simply cannot send mail using this server, select a different server.  However, when connection doctor is run, all servers appear to be connected and I am logged in.  Any ideas please?

Hi, not sure why that is relevant, but we arrived at the end of January this year.  Here is a screen shot of a recurring problem, although in this case Gmail is not connected to the internet, which it usually is.  Hope this helps.
Your outgoing Gmail servers not working, everything else seems OK.
So, what is not working for you (other than Gmail Sending)

  • Sending Mail from Oracle forms or reports

    Hi
I have to send mail from forms or reports . Is there any way or builtin to do this.
If anybody have experience in this please give the
    detailed example on this.
    Regards
    Arun

    Look at http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/pl_sql/htdocs/maildemo_sql.txt
It creates a package in the database for sending mail.
If you want to send mail from the local machine using Outlook, you'll have to use OLE, but it's not something I've tried.

  • Cannot send mail from my ipad

I cannot send mails from my ipad, I have checked settings with my mail server and they tell me that everything is OK, they don't know what may be causing the problem, any ideas?

    TBS2.
There is no way for anyone to know if your problem is identical to the problem reported by maria_diaz. She didn't mention anything about getting the "relaying" message. I suggest you start a new question that gives a good title to a specific problem. Then in the body of the thread describe the problem in detail, tell us what steps you have tried so far to correct the problem, what happened, and what error messages you received.

  • I can no longer send mail from my gmail account on my iPad.

I can send mail from my iPhone just fine so it isn't gmail. I deleted the gmail app and reinstalled it; restarted my iPad; and checked the settings. My wifi is working as is evidenced by the fact that I wrote and posted this from my iPad with no problems. Anyone have an idea of how to fix this?

  • Alias address from iCloud alias address cannot be used to send mails via iPad

Alias address from iCloud alias address cannot be used to send mails via iPad

If you still have this concern: You can only use the alias address linked to the main iCloud account that you backup your iPad to. You can check that going to Setting-iCloud and check the Account email address.
I think this restriction is rather rediculous. I don't see why we can't configure an alias from a different iCloud account the same way we do for a Gmail account. I hope Apple fixes this in iOS 6.
