Have downloaded V801 but panel under search bar says I am not running the latest version

I downloaded latest version 801 the first time it loaded it was ok but every time since then the bar under the google search bar say I am not on the latest version with a triangle and ! . I have checked the help bar and this says I am upto date. I have deleted Firefox and re-installed- same problem. Have checked through update page and it says firefox is up to date
Do not know what else to try

You may see that message below the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old Firefox default home page. It appears that page is no longer being maintained. You appear to have the latest Firefox 8.0.1 installed
*See --> https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Finding+your+Firefox+version
*You can also see your version on the ''Help > Troubleshooting Information'' display
If you want the Google search page as your home page, a new, updated version is now built-in to Firefox. Reset your home page to '''''about:home''''' for that new display.

There is no major problem other than I am concerned I am not on the latest version. I have downloaded firefox 6.0 (or whatever is the latest version) but when firefox starts there is a message under the start page which says I am not on the latest version. Is there something I am not doing?

Your UserAgent string in Firefox is messed up by another program that you installed. <br />

type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter <br />

  • I have updated Firefox to 8.0.1 but the main screen still says " You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web!" What is the problem?

I downloaded Firefox Setup 8.0.1.exe from the website to my desktop and opened it as an administrator. The available choice (once opened) was to upgrade. When the process was complete my version of Firefox was identified as 8.0.1 but the main screen still said - "You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web!"

This - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Firefox Start Page used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox, I don't think it is being maintained.
Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same.

  • I am running ver 9.0.1, but I keep getting the message that I am not running the latest version? Why? and how can I get rid of this message?

On my firefox start up screen, I get the message that I am not running the latest. It asks that I upgrade now. However, under "about firefox," I am running 9.01, the latest version. I'd like to know why I'm getting this message and how I can get rid of it.
    Thank you.

    Hi jerzyguitar,
You may see that message below the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old Firefox default home page. That page is no longer being maintained by Google.
You should try changing your home page to:
    about:home
If you don't know how to change the home page, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].
    Hopefully this helps

  • I recently downloaded Firefox 9, and "successfully" installed it. However, I'm getting a prompt on start-up saying I'm not on the latest version. If I click on "upgrade", I'm informed that I'm "up to date". What gives? Do I just ignore the prompt?

    No other details.

You should change your Homepage. <br />
See - [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page How to set the homepage]
This - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Firefox Start Page used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox. I think that Google assumes that you are using an older version of Firefox, as they hard-coded that "upgrade" message into that page - all versions of Firefox see that message.
Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same.

When I'm using Safari, ocasionally the menu bar just disappears. I'm running the latest version of Lion and the latest version of Safari. This is not a full screen app problem. I have multiple windows open. This happens all the time! Firefox is fine! What the ****? Please help!

Right, like I'm trying to say, THERE IS NO SAFARI MENU bar. Example: I have multiple applications open, I click on a Photoshop window, the correct menu or title bar or whatever changes. Every other application window I click on brings up the correct "whatever" bar. If I click on the desktop, the "Finder Bar" shows up.
Everythiing else, BUT SAFARI, works the same way since OS X came out.  This is ridiculous.
I'm getting the vibe that Apple is trying to get rid of the finder.... this is the way wrong direction.

Ok, since this forum is for Photoshop Standard and Photoshop Extended, we don't know much about Photoshop Elements. There is a Photoshop Elements forum and I'll link it for you since they best know how to field your questions.

    Good luck on it!

  • I have upgraded twice but home page still says "your not using the latest version. Upgrade now"

When I open Firefox and the home page comes up it tells me that i am not using the latest version and should upgrade. I also run into a stop scrip issue when I go to clear the history. It usually takes three tries to clear the history.

I would have to guess that your home page is pointing to one of the what's new pages from a previous Firefox release. Nothing to be concerned with here. You can change your home page to point wherever you'd like by clicking Preferences/Options->General and changing the home page option.
For the stop script history issue, do you know what web page is causing the issue?

  • When I download a Numbers file from iCloud to my Mac, it isn't the latest version.

Today I worked on a Numbers file on my iPad 2 from 4:40 pm to 6:30 pm. A few hours later, when I tried to download the file from iCloud to my Mac, none of today's changes appeared. When I looked at it again on the iPad, on the main Numbers page where you choose the file you want, it showed a time of 4:43 pm associated with the file. However, when I opened it, the two hours of work was still there even though the time was off. I tried sending the file as an email and when I opened the email attachment on my Mac, all of today's changes were there. So the new changes are captured when emailing a file but not when downloading it.
It almost seems as if the file hasn't made it off the iPad and into iCloud, but I can't find any information on ways to force that or know if it's been done.

    Two possible problems. <br />
    1. BlackBoard never supports the latest version of Firefox, for a few reasons. Some schools don't run the latest version of BlackBoard Vista or Campus Edition. Also, BlackBoard upgrades seem to be tied to the "school year" cycle, the changes they make to improve and update their software seem to be rolled out for the fall term so that changes aren't being made during the normal "school year" and possibly causing problems for the schools. That also may be a function of their contract / payment cycles with the schools that use their programs.
    http://www2.blackboard.com/tuneup/viewpage?name=tuneup_browser_tuneup_windows_firefox <br />
Select the link for the version of WebCT Vista or Campus Edition ''(version info is usually at the bottom of each page, in the footer)'' that your school is using, then see which version of Firefox is compatible.
Depending upon which version of WebCT your school is using, you will have to use Firefox 3.6.x, Firefox 3.5.x, or Firefox 3.0.x when accessing the Blackboard site.
My advice is to install the Firefox Portable version that you need for Blackboard on your computer, and use that installation only for Blackboard. Continue to use 4.0.1 for all other web browsing. <br />
    http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy
    2. Firefox uses a Plugin ( you have Office Plugin for Netscape Navigator installed) to open files that aren't "internet files", like word processing documents. <br />
I can't help you directly with Office, as I use Open Office, but there should be a preference for that Plugin within your Office preferences or options under something like Internet, to have those files '''Display documents in browser'''. <br />
Or see this to make sure you have your "file type" set correctly. <br />

  • I get, You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web! When I go to the update site it tells me that I have the latest version.

    I start the Firefox browser.
When the start page displays I get just below the Google search box:
You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web!
Not unusual but when I go to the update site it searches for a minute and then tells me that I have the current version of the software.

If you use the www.google.com/firefox site as home page that previous Firefox 3 versions use as the home page then you can ignore the message about not using the latest Firefox version on that page.<br />
Google no longer seems to maintain that page.<br />
Current Firefox 4+ versions no longer use that Google website as the home page, but use the build-in about:home page as the home page.<br />
Google assumes that you use an older Firefox version if you still visit that site and warns you that you use an older Firefox version and suggests to update.<br />
You can use another page as the home page like about:home or www.google.com or www.google.com/ig (iGoogle).<br />

  • How do I update my iPhone 3G firmware but not to the latest version?

How do I update my iPhone 3G firmware but not to the latest version?
I currently am running 3.1 but would like to update it to the 4.1 version (not the latest 4.3 version). How do I do this? I have already gone online and downloaded the 4.1 firmware for iPhone 3G but not sure how to install it. I unzipped the file then tried to do the Shift>Update trick but none of the downloaded files could be selected. Am I doing something wrong?

There is no official way to do what you want, that's why the files can't be selected. iOS 4.2.1 is the last officially signed firmware available for your phone. If you want to install any other firmware you'll have to go elsewhere for instructions as such cannot be discussed here, per this forum's terms of use, sorry.

you are running the latest version of iTunes, have no other USB devices attached, have no security software installed, and are directly connected to your ISP source, simply restarting the computer and the iOS device can clear up certain issues that could prevent you from restoring. After restarting the computer and iOS device, attempt to restore again.

How big is your library?  I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
    - Backup your library.  Always a good idea before messing with things.
    - Create a new library.   Refer to this article for details:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589.  This won't delete your old library, you're just creating a new empty one.  Also refer to this article to get back to your old library later.
    - Add a few albums into this new library.  Not everything, just a small sampling, as a test.
    - Activate Match on this new library.  You shouldn't have to re-pay, it should just say "Add Computer" or similar.
    - At this point, Match should run again. With just a few albums it should complete in just a few minutes.
If iTunes doesn't crash at this point, then likely there's something about your original library that Match doesn't like - what that is I don't know, but at least you'll know it's not your PC.   If iTunes still crashes, then if could be a number of other things, but probably not your library.   My next suggestion (if you haven't already done this) is to uninstall / reinstall iTunes.   If that doesn't work, then my next ideas you won't like.

I try to update my ipod but it says 4.2.1 is the latest version. What do i do?

There is NO such thing as a 3rd generation 8GB iPod Touch. Period......
See this Apple document. They only made the 32GB and the 64GB model for the 3rd generation.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#iPod_touch_late2009
Another way to verify which model you have is to look on the back of the iPod Touch itself for one of these Apple part numbers.
    iPod Touch 1st generation - A1213
    iPod Touch 2nd generation - A1288
    iPod Touch 3rd generation - A1318
    iPod Touch 4th generation - A1367
