Have error #5,illustrator will not open on mac 10.6 as my illustrator was filed in my hard drive, how to open it?
my teachers copy of creative suite 5 had the illustrator software filed in an external hard drive.
i dropped this illustrator file on my desktop but it would not open saying error 5.
how do i open this illustrator?
if i must re install the complete creative suite master collection, do i trash the existing collection first and then
reinstall the complete collection?
i only want to have illustrator operating

Howard you will want to install Illustrator not copy it from one computer to another. Please removed what you have copied and download a fresh copy of the installation files from Download CS5 products. If you need to locate your registered serial number it will be located at http://www.adobe.com/. You can find details on how to locate your registered serial number at Find your serial number quickly.

Two things:
- Completely remove and reinstall the Apple software by the following. That link provides a link for Win &.
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
- If you still have a problem after restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod you likely have a hardware problem. An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is then in order. -
I forgot to mention that there is a grey screen on startup also a flashing folder with a question mark. I have tried the solutions offered on these forum pages. I cannot get past the disk utility screen.

The MBP cannot find the OSX, and either the HDD or connector has failed. If you can get the installation DVD to work, start the installation process and when the menu bar appears on the display, select 'Utilities'. From the drop down menu, select Disk Utility>First Aid and run 'Verify' and 'Repair'. If unsuccessful, a new HDD is in your future.
If you cannot get the DVD to function, then a trip to an Apple store is your best option.

Lost my hard drive and also an Ipad, but have 7 k photos on a Touch that I need to load on fixed IMAC with a new hard drive, how do I do it. (There were more photos than the 7k, but they were saved on other drives, thank goodness). 7K pohotos on the Touch are no where else, must be saved! Just never went from a Touch to iMac. I have the cable hooked up and then what, I don't want to mess up,my last chance to save 7k pics! New Aperture and IPhoto on IMAC with no other photos loaded on the new hard drive yet.
I'd ask in the iTouch forum where there are more iTouch users there than here and they should know how to off load the photos. It might take a 3rd party app.

Hello! I have had CS5 since 2010. I have had no problems with my software until a few months ago, particularly with Illustrator. My Illustrator will not open, and if it does, it automatically quits after about a minute. An error box pops up listing problem details and system configuration. Any idea of what could be happening and how to fix it? Your help is really appreciated!
Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details like crash logs.

My Illustrator will not open my files. At first I will launch the program open a file then the timer just spins and spins as if its thinking but nothing ever happens. The menu on the dock says its not responding. If I leave it like that for about 2 hours it will eventually open. But when I work and save again I get the same thing, application is not responding unless I let it sit there for a few hours. I reinstalled the software and nothing seems to be working.
Please help. This is wasting my time and very frustrating.

I'm creating a website so there is some type and some placed images. But this problem happens even when I start a new file and draw an image with simple illustrator tools. Do you think I have corrupt preferences? -
Illustrator will not open certain files
Certain files that I created in Illustrator will not open when I try to open them. I try to open the file and the AI application opens but the file itself does not. If I right click on the file and select properties, under security it says I have no permissions. However on other files created at the same time I have permissions and they open in AI just fine. thoughts?
That is strange, but if this is on your work computer, your should probably contact your system administrator to set it so that you have permission to use these images. If this is on your home computer, you should be able to change the permissions on your own.

Are you using the new Mavericks OS? If you upgrade to 10.9 with the application already installed the old prefs will have been left behind; so you need to clear them. Start by quitting PSE9.
Launch Finder and click the Go menu whilst holding down the Option (alt) key. Then go to Library >> Preferences and clear everything relating to PSE9 which usually means deleting the following files:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Settings

I have an 8 year old eMac G3. It will not start up. I need to erase it before putting it in recycling. Apple refuses to open the case and warns me that I will be shocked if I even try. They say no way to erase hard drive. They say use a hammer. Any ideas?
Hi, no eMacs had G3s, only G4s. Is it maybe an iMac G3?

Adobe no longer supports the installation and use of Acrobat 6 as it is a very old version which is not compatible with Windows 7.
I would suggest you to please use the latest version of Acrobat i.e. 11.0.10 which is fully compatible with your OS with its enhanced features and functions.

1) I can't find the 9.0 to install so I can then update thru 9.3...

Ios 7.1 etc. has a problem with communicating with exchange. There are lots of reports of problems with pdf files.

Many 3rd party apps that I have used before now will not open with the alert "XYZ application cannot be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed" Why now since I updated Mavericks?

I cannot open my photoshop. Its asking me for a serial number, which I already have. However, it will not accept my serial number. I've had this program for 5 years and this has never happened.
If your Creative Suite version is #3 through 6, you might try running the CS Cleaner Tools in preparation for a re-install.

If you have a legacy version, it may be that the activation servers for your product are no longer available.

I have 3 songs that will not download and the volume of error messages from Itunes about these "3" is annoying. I know my way around Itunes but cannot find a way to delete them and stop these Itunes download error messages.

I also got a response from Apple who said that there was a problem related to fonts and the encryption.xml file
Once we'd removed this we were able to upload the epub no problem.
It's odd that the system seems to say that all is okay when it isn't. We have to rely on guesswork rather a lot using iBook Producer.
Anyway, all sorted now and thank you again for your contribution.
