Have keyframes in effect controls window coincide with main time line

Hello,
Is there any way I can have the time line in my effects control window coincide with my main time line ?
Example, I add keyframes along my main time line, but any time I wish to edit them, I need to scrub my effect controls window timeline to get to that
spot that coincides on the main time line. I'm just wondering how I can have both time lines show the same area at the same time.
So if I'm at the end of my time line, and add a keyframe, and then wish to just scrub or move my cursor to the beginning of my main time line, the
time line in the upper window ( effects control window ) does not reflect the area of the main time line I am currently at, I need to actually click the time time
line ( main time line ) in order to "refresh" the upper effect control window time line.

How would you like the feature to work?
The same way Shift-Z can be used to Zoom to Timeline, it would be amazing if Shift-Z (or another shortcut) could be used to 'Zoom to Keyframes' whenever the ECW is the active window. This way, getting keyframes outside a clip's range into view for editing would be a quick 1 step process. Using the same shortcut again could toggle back to the default 'Pin to Clip' view.
Why is this feature important to you?
This proposed feature would be much faster to use compared to the current 'Pin to Clip' option in the ECW's Wing menu. When deselecting 'Pin to Clip', the zoom level remains the same, thus forcing the user to go through the added steps of zooming/scrolling/adjusting to get the keyframes into comfortable view for editing. A 1 step 'Zoom to Keyframes' toggle would be much more convenient than the current 'Disable 'Pin to Clip', zoom/scroll/adjust' method!

When disabling 'Pin to Clip' in order to see and edit keyframes that fall outside the bounds of a clip in the ECW, it would be very handy it the ECW's zoom level automatically defaulted to the correct setting in order to see all keyframes at a comfortable level. i.e. left(right)-most keyframe placed at the left(right) edge of the ECW, such that the all of the clip's keyframes fit across the visible work area. This would work the same way 'Zoom to Timeline' works, however it would be invoked automatically. Turning 'Pin to Clip' back on would automatically revert to the previous zoom level.
Why is this feature important to you?
An automatic 'Zoom to keyframes' feature in the ECW would make keyframe editing that much faster and more pleasant.

Here's the FR I just posted. Does this fit along the lines of what you were suggesting Jim? If so, please post as your own FR.

Just like users can use the mouse wheel to zoom and scroll a sequence by mousing over ANY part of the Timeline, it would be a great usability improvement for users to be allowed to do so in the ECW while moused over any part of the window instead of just over the tiny zoom bar.
Furthermore, the keyboard modifiers should remain consistent between the Timeline and the ECW. Thus, if ALT-mouse wheeling zooms in the Timeline, it should also zoom in the ECW!
Why the current lack of consistency?

Consistency, consistency, consistency! Consistency in a GUI makes it all the more user friendly, discoverable and efficient. For some reason, Adobe has painfully low consistency in its software, both between applications and between windows/element in single apps. Dedicating resources to a special 'Consistency Creation Task Force', or even more resources should an initiative like this already exist, could do wonders towards improving the software we use and depend on. ARD3 on Intel cannot control windows machines with VNC

I have a district full of windows machines with a version of VNC installed and the server service running. I have a Powerbook G4 running 10.4.7 and ARD3 and I can control/observe all our workstations just fine. I'm having trouble controlling any of our windows workstations from any Intel-based mac. I've tried it on a macbook pro, Intel iMac, and our Intel Mac Mini, and all have the same issue. When you attempt to connect the first time, it asks for the username and password, then says "Connection failed to <ipaddress>." and does this every time after that. I've tried reinstalling ARD many times, even tried wiping the iMac and starting from scratch, and still no luck.
I still have no problems with ARD3 on either of our 2 Powerbook G4's but this happens on every Intel-based mac I have tried. I hate having to have another (older) machine running on my desk for a single task. Has anyone else seen this issue or knows what the problem is?
Again, all our macs (intel and ppc) are running 10.4.7 with ARD 3. Thanks in advance!!

For unknown reasons iTunes will no longer open. I have an HP laptop running windows 7 with Kaspersky protection. It worked fine before but now won't open. I tried downloading the most recent up-date and it will still not open. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply with additional information.
Recent history for Premiere Elements points to the program having problems when more than 1 video card/graphics card is
being used by the computer on which Premiere Elements is running. This observation may seem contra indicated by the fact
that you say that the program did work well about 2 years ago in the same setup. But other factors may have set in with regard
to drivers, drivers versions, and driver conflicts. But this factor, does need to be ruled in or out.
Can you disable one or the other card to determine the impact of this on your problem?
But, of prime concern with regard to video card/graphics card is the use of a NVIDIA GeForce card with Premiere Elements 10.
Even if your NVIDIA GeForce were the only card, Premiere Elements 10 will not work properly unless the NVIDIA GeForce driver
version is rolled back to about May 2013. This may be one of the major factors here.
a. Device Manager/Display Adapters and find out Driver Version and Driver Date
b. Read the background information for the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue

If I find serial numbers used to download programs to the old PC, can those CS3 programs be put on the newer PC. Question 2. I really want to put CS5 suite on PC machines. Is that possible? Especially since my MacBook is showing some hard drive problems.

You should be able to get the CS3 programs installed and running on the new pc since CS3 is spec-ed for Windows 7 Service Pack 1. Downloading the programs does not require a serial number. You can find them here: Download CS3 products but you will need the serial number to activate the programs. You might be able to find that thru your Adobe account online.
You will not be able to install the CS5 Mac version on a PC and you won't be able to trade it to a PC version either due to it being an older version. Trades are allowed only for the latest version (CS6)

Finder enhnacements installed? = no. I did a reinstall of Mavericks, not a full clean install = no help. Searched for "single-app mode" in Spotlight and the web, no luck.
With Safari open on screen, from dock, opened iTunes and Safari does not show on screen. Open Word from doc and iTunes is not on screen.

Premiere pro cs 6 - 2 issues; keyframe interpolation & seeing final keyframe in effects control pan

I'm zooming and/or panning in on a photograph that has 2 dissolves (1 at the start and 1 at the end). I put a zoom effect by using the Effects Control panel. Keyframe 1 is at the beginning of the picture, or 1st dissolve, and the 2nd keyframe is at the end of the picture, or the 2nd dissolve. At first the zoom/pan is slow and even but then it speeds up about 1/2 way through the 5 second picture. Any suggestions on how to make it more even? I've tried changing the temporal and spacial effect on the keyframes but generally it doesn't work.

In the effects panel, if I have a keyfram at the very end of the clip I can't see it even by changing the landscape or widening the effects control project window. Again, any suggestions?

1. Try keyframing before adding transitions.
2. Unselect Pin to Clip in the panel menu of the Effect Controls.

When I clicked on the Newest version of itunes something happened and now when I try to access the itunes store I get an error (-32-12) and it says to check my conectivity. I have three ipods and the problem is with the on line connection with itunes.

After I clicked and downloaded the newest version of itunes I no longer am able to connect with the store. I get an error (-32-12) and it says to check the connectivity. The problem is with the on line connection. I attempted to reload itunes , still the same problem exists.

Problem with Video Time Line in CC

I have encountered a problem with the video time line panel in CC.
When importing a clip, the time line panel remains on top of the video image window.
As before, the image window does not automatically resize to float above the time line panel.
I cannot resize the clip image panel to make more room for the time line.
I have tried to reset Photo Shop to the original state without success.

Are you using a docked workspace? What zoom? Is hardware acceleration working properly? What system? What footage? Screenshots? Much more info is required...

I have reinstalled iTunes on my Windows pc. Several times.

When I open iTunes, I receive the message "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."
I have tried to eliminate all traces of iTunes from the pc before re-installing. I have done this several times, using info from this community and the Windows community. So far, nothing has worked.
I don't think I've installed other CD burning software...unless there is a conflict with Windows Media Player?

I have LR6 running on a Windows machine. Several times when launching the program I'm prompted as if I'm running a trial version, and then have to click a button to register and re-enter my license number. This is getting tedious--what's going on Adobe?

You do not have the properties in the Bookmarks Manager (Library), but you should have it if you right-click a bookmark the Bookmarks Toolbar or in the bookmarks sidebar.
On Mac you probably do not have it if you right-click an item in the Bookmarks menu (this menu is under control of the Mac OS), but I assume that this should work if you click the "Show your bookmarks" button on the Navigation Toolbar that is next to the star to bookmark the current tab and right-click an item in the bookmarks list that opens.

I too have no use for the new Photos. Trying to sort through 6,000+ photos by dates (some that are incorrect) was very time consuming. I was looking for a way to reinstall iPhoto from my Time Capsule because I thought that Apple had done away with iPhoto on my computer. I found this bit of information. I now have iPhoto back and am not wasting time trying to find photos anymore. (No I did not have them sorted into albums because I found the Event sort to be perfect for me and those were my 'albums'.) I don't know anything about the $3.99 a month. However, I do not put my photos in iCloud and did not transfer my library to iCloud when it asked me. Hope this helps.

Controlling the main time line of a movie via a button within a movie on a different level.

I have two movie is two different levels,
Level 5 is my base movie and I am loading another movie on
top of this into level 10.
Once the user clicks onto a button within the movie on level
10, I would like the animation in level 5 to stop (the animation
runs on the main root timeline of level 5).
Once the user clicks on a different button within the movie
on level 10, I would like the animation on the main timeline of the
movie in level 5 to start again from the point where it previously
left off.
Is this possible?
It would be great if someone could help me out with this.

Use your regular action to target timeline or movie clips,
just define the level number at the beginning of the path.

Color Correction Effect Controls Not Showing Controls

The recent upgrade seemed to work flawlessly until I tried to go back to some color correction I had started earlier. In some cases, when I click on the Video Effects tab in the Color Correction workspace, my controls are there and working. For others, when I click on the Video Effects tab, there's simply nothing there. I have dragged effects back onto the clip and then gone back to the Effects tab, and still see nothing. Has anyone else had this problem? Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. I've tried removing all effects, adding more effects etc, but in the Effect Controls window all I get is the name of the clip highlighted in blue. I've also gone to Window and selected Effect Controls, but all this does is reveal or hide the Effect Controls tab. The Motion, Opacity etc controls are not there when I click on the tab. Anyone have any ideas how to get the Effect Controls back?

Effect Controls Palette - Docking

Is there any way to open an existing project and have the exact window layout be the same as when you quit the project? IE, if I have multiple Effect Controls windows open when I quit a project, how do I have those same windows open when I open the project again? Toolbars and UI panels keep their place, but not Effect Controls.
I have a Null object that contains a handful of Expression Controls (sliders, checkbox controls). I adjust these controls by using the Effect Controls palette when I have the Null object selected. I know how to open multiple Effect Controls windows and even lock my Null object Effect Control window so that it is always open and I can adjust my controls without specifically selected my Null object layer. The problem I run into is when I restart After Effects and open up my project, my Effects Control palette always resets to a single unlocked palette and I have to manually reset up my Effect Control windows (open multiple instances of Effect Control windows, lock my Null object Effect Controls window, etc). If I save my workspace exactly how I want it, when I restart After Effects, the Effects Controls palette setup does not stick like it was before quitting/restarting. For this specific project, I always want my Null object Effect Controls window/palette to be open and locked, but every time I restart, I lose my setup. Any suggestions?
