Have Mac OSX 10.5.8; logitech ball mouse stops working in firefox window.
When I use my trackball on the web, it either freezes (requiring I reboot) or the left click stops responding. The right click works but only to drop down the menu.

Firefox 4.0 will not download at all, I get the circle with a slash. I have mac osx.
I had firefox 3.6, downloaded free upgrade, which totally replaced the old one, it's gone.
But the new icon has a circle and slash on it and is not viable. Doesn't work, doesn't open, messages says: You cannot open the application Firefox.app because it is not supported on this system.
I have Mac OSX 10.4.11.Same problem, but I'm on OSX 10.5.8 - non Intel mac.
Wording is actually "... because it is not supported on this architecture."

To elaborate a bit, you may come across offers of a new/unopened/unregistered version, which is the simplest case (you would need a guarantee). Other cases require much detailed information (and a guarantee).
If upgrading to 10.6.8 or higher is an option, you could use CS6. -

I have mac osx 10.6.8 and I keep getting update notices that do nothing, just search for update server. Happens every day. What can you or I do to fix this? Other people I work with and use macs have the same issue.
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Install the new version that you have downloaded

Instead of getting a wireless card for the Mac Pro, you might want to consider getting an 802.11ac wireless bridge device that would enable you to connect more than one device to it by Ethernet cable and to eventually take advantage of the faster 802.11ac wireless standard.

If you run Software Update (on the Apple menu) it will show you the latest updates for all your Apple software. And since the latest update for Snow Leopard is 10.6.8, it will most likely offer to install the 10.6.8 "combo" updater (rather than a series of the in-between ones like 10.6.5 through 10.6.7).
It also should automatically check for other updates after installing any that are prerequisites for other updates (like the Java security fixes that require 10.6.8). If not, keep running it until it says your software is up to date or it only lists things you do not want.
This is by far the easiest way to keep your Apple software up to date. It is a good idea to do that because it increases the security of your data & often patches bugs or adds new minor features to your Apple software. -

I have Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4, Quickbooks Pro 2010, Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac, Operating in Windows 7. Quicbooks Pro 2010 is not responding or opening currently. Quickbooks does not support Parallels anymore. I hear Apple Bootcamp is an opton. Are there any recommendations for running Quickbooks Pro 2010 on Mac?
QuickBooks Pro 2010 for Mac is not supported in Lion. QB Pro 2011 will work, but I just got an email today that 2011 will not be updated to work in Mountain Lion. QB Pro 2012 will be updated for ML.
Be aware that the Mac version of QuickBooks is shamefully lacking in features compared to the Windows version. I do use the Mac version, but it has more features than I need for a small business, so it doesn't affect me. No one knows why Intuit seems to hate Mac users, but they show it every day.
If QB Pro 2012 for Mac can be downloaded as a demo, I would strongly suggest testing with it before making a final decision. You will be able to import the Windows data, but possibly not all of it, depending on the Windows version features you use.
Boot Camp allows you to install Windows on its own, bootable partition. When you boot to it, you are of course running Windows in every sense of the word. Just on Mac hardware rather than typical PC gear. Your Windows version of QB will work there without issue. The problem is having to boot back and forth between Windows and OS X, depending on what software it is you need to use at the time.

Why was command-option-click functionality removed. Please bring back.
Can anyone fill me in on this issue. I used to use command-option-click hundreds of times a day. Cleared out all windows and got me to the application I wanted to use. It is, apparently, gone in Mavericks. I'd be interested to know why it was remo
