Have MacBookPro, want to share my iTunes with my wife's account on this machine

My wife and I have separate accounts, each with password (to keep the kids out) on the machine.
Can't get her to have access to my iTunes.
She has iPhone and iPad, would like to update them through this, as well as to sync.
BTW, she has way more stuff (from iTunes Store) on her machines than I have.
Jim

Transfer a copy of the contents of your iTunes into the Shared folder on the Root "/" directory, log into her account and import the content into her iTunes from that same folder.
Use the Finder > Go > Computer
Double click on the boot drive, double click on the Users folder, the Shared folder is there.

I want to keep a separate itunes account from my wife so we can do game center supported multiplayer games. But we want to have all the same apps and music shared on one computer, what is the easiest way to do this with windows? Thank you.

You can sync multiple I tunes account from the same mac.  You will need to authorize the account on the mac.  Then you can share tunes and books across devices.  just take you time when you connect and make sure you are setting up the sync criteria for the right device.
If you share apps, the originating itunes account goes with the app, so updating can get problematic, but it is pretty seamless with tunes and books.
You can also sync photos from the same master i photo system.
On each devise, you identify what you want to sync, and I tunes will remember them as seperate entries, so the next time you plug it, it will be starting from what you selected last time.

  • How can I share my music with my wife's account?

My family has multiple accounts on various devices (IPods, IPad) that share one IMac. How can I share the music on my account with my wife's account? My music doesn't show up on her account and vice/versa.

I'm sorry to say, unless you're using apples pay service, that allows you to upload your own music, there is no way to do that. I'm assuming that the music you are talking about has not been purchased through them. If it has, then you can redownload it to any devices from within your app.
I personally dont think its fair that you can't import music from your own online sources, but apple isnt in the busness of giving us what we want, just what will make them money.
You could also look into some of the rare apps that have been allowed to slip through such as 8player or vlc. One of those might be able to pull from your own online source, but I cant say for sure, and its unlikely is will work very well. I personally have started using a third party cloud service to store backups of my music, that might be something to look into.

  • How do i share iTunes with my wifes user account?

I decided to buy an IMac and although im not entirely useless with it, im really struggling to resist the temptation to put it back in the box.
the 2 main problems are our ITunes account and our contracts.
both myself and my wife now have each others contacts on our phones.
i have set up my wife a separate user account, however I cannot work out how to share iTunes with her.
I have set her up a separate icloud  account and now she has no contacts whatsoever.
is there any support that could log onto the system and correct a few things here as im running out of ideas.
    thanks in advance.

You have to turn on Sharing and then Authenticate Sharing on the other devices. You can have up to 5.

My laptop is no longer reliable. I want to share my iTunes account with my new iPad 3.   I just started viewing my iPad window on my 50 inch Panasonic wirelessly via Apple Tv 2.  That's amazing.
Now I want to share my iTunes account with my Apple TV  1, and my iPad 3, without the need of booting up the unreliable laptop where I set it up last year.   do I have to use my. Pc laptop to access the iTunes store again too authorize home sharing.   I have tried it before. O for a while I thought the we're sharing, now the Apple Tv has gone back to telling me to use my computer too sign into iTunes.
there maybe a far simpler way to enjoy iTunes on my iPad and Apple Tv.   I also have the Sony blurry Google Tv.  I will upgrade my PC with Windows Z8 and a screaming ran cache, ram disk on a 79 mother board and then pay 5 bucks a month for OnLive Plus that I hpe to show wirelesslypy on the big scree 50 inch Panasonic.   I have waited for years to upgrade as I wanted to help my kids in college.  They are finished and so I have money fr my self.CELEBRATE

Are you using the charger and cable that came with the phone?
Are you using an unauthorized third party charger?

You can move the iTunes folder to a separate drive on your pc an then configure each account to use this drive / folder as iTunes library ... The problem is, that iTunes by default stores everything in your personal music folder which is separate for each user account in windows (and by default is on "C" drive).
I create a separate partition on every pc/laptop (and map a drive name) where I store music, videos and other mass data. This will also keep the "C" drive small, which is backed up from time to time and so my backup is also small.

  • I used to have a pop-up ask if I wanted to share my location with a site. I accidently hit "never" instead of "allow". How do I undo this?

Some website apps use the geolocation of your desktop. And prior to the other day, whenever this information was requested Firefox would prompt me and ask if I wanted to share my location with the website and provided 2-3 options: "never", "allow once" or "allow always". I accidentally hit "never" and now I can't find a menu option, cookie or anything in Firefox to undo this selection.

You can see the permissions for the domain in the current tab in:
    * Tools > Page Info > Permissions
    See:

  • My family has separate icloud accounts, but we want to share an iTunes account.  How do we do that?

My family has separate icloud accounts, but we want to share an iTunes account.  How do we do that?

This is still not related to iCloud. Suppose your son has his own iTunes library. He connects his iPod to that, and the contents of his library are transferred to his iPod.
Now he connects to your Library; and his iPod is wiped and the contents of your Library transferred to it.
Any workaround is going to involve manual operation or sharing, and is outside my experience. Your best bet would be to start a new thread and ask about sharing different people's libraries, without mentioning iCloud which is a red herring.

    Hello,
check out FoneSync for Android. It syncs contacts, calendars, music and photos with your Android device and features an iTunes like interface. So it is easy to use and fast.
    Kind regards

I want to share a file that is 500 meg (video) can this be done via iCloud?

yes, my kids live 30 to 50 ,lies away and my brother in law 300 miles.
You get the ip address of the TC using airport utility. Don't use the local lan number such as 10.0.3.12
Using the Finder go to the top of the Desktop and select Go then connect to server,  type afp://that ip number , leave the user name alone and type in password. The TC hard drive should show on the Desktop.
You have to set it up first using Airport Utility: launch it and go to the Disks tab. Check box enable file sharing and share disks over wan, choose secure disk with a password  and type in your password. The other person will need to know the password.
You can now copy files over to the TC i.e. upload and download files.
