Have New Computer - Some Songs wont copy because not authorized user

I just bought a new computer and moved all my songs over. When I sync up, most of the songs copy over, but there are about 54 that wont. i get an error message that states "Some of the items in the iTunes Library were not copied to the iPod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer"
What am I doing wrong.

Choose Authorize Computer from the Store menu in iTunes, or play one of those songs on your computer; when prompted, provide the username and password associated with your iTunes Store account.

  • Have new computer and songs on iPhone and Ipod Nano won't sync

My old desktop crashed so we had to buy a new laptop. I have downloaded iTunes twice and tried every trick in the blogs and nothing works. I have an iPhone 3Gs and an iPod Nano full of songs but the only songs syncing are the ones that I've purchased on my iPhone. Nothing else is syncing. Also if I access the Iphone from the my Computer menu it shows up as a camera and if I access my Ipod nano none of the songs show up. Is there a way to sync my iTunes library from my Iphone or Nano? Is the external drive necessary(these are the only explanations on the blogs)? If yes then I'm done because my computer crashed. Please help!!

It has nothing to do with de-authorizing the old computer.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (because it does not have that function), except as you indicated, for songs that you purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that will allow transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links (if you use a Mac, add "mac" to he search).
Once the song files are on your new computer, add them to the iTunes library.  You can simply drag the files, or the folder(s) containing the files, to the iTunes window.
NOTE:  This is how you can de-authorize the old computer without the old computer.  Run iTunes and go to the iTunes Store in the sidebar.  Log in with your Apple ID, if you are not already.  Click on your Apple ID at the upper right corner of the window to go to your Account Information screen.  There should be a button to Deauthorize All.  This will deauthorize your current computer too, but you can authorize it again.  (You can have up to FIVE computers authorized for your iTunes Store account, so you can just leave the old one authorized.)

  • New Computer - Some Songs Not Authorized

Hi. I switched my iTunes library over to my new computer. It went well, except it now tells me that 23 of my purchase songs can't be played because my computer is unautorized to play them.
So, (already logged in) I authorize the computer, which it says is successful.
I then go to play the song and it says the computer isn't authorized to play it...lol
Any ideas? The same thing happened when I upgraded to iTunes 7 for the first time and there was an issue with me switching from an AOL account to and Apple account.
I emailed apple support and they resolved the issue, but can't seem to find a support email address anywhere on here, so thought I'd try the forums....
    Thanks for any help.

You are correct. Apparently it is asking me to authorize under my old AOL account information. Unfortunately, that account no longer exists. The password does not work.
This was the same problem I described in the original post. I emailed support and they "consolidated" my accounts under my appleID. Apparently, transferring the library to a new computer somehow screwed that up.
Does anyone have an email address for support. That was the way I was able to get it fixed last time. Thank you for the reply and any additional help.

  • My new computer says that my ipod is not authorized to play on it

I have a new computer, and my library has been transferred to it, and it recognizes my ipod when I connect it. However, when I try to copy new songs from my library to the ipod, it says that my ipod is not authorized to play on this computer. What do I do?

Do the songs play in iTunes? It may be that after you moved it, you now need to authorize the new COMPUTER (not the iPod), then your iPod should be able to sync everything. iPods are not authorized, computers are.

  • Latest update will not allow games and some songs on ipod saying not author

I just downloaded the latest update of itunes and it has removed my purchased games and some of my music saying that they are not authorized to play on this computer.
I have tried re-syncing but I still get the same problem.
    what can I do?

Deauthorize your computer, play one of the songs, when prompted enter your Apple ID and password, then resync the songs/games to your iPod.

  • Old computer crashed, have new computer, how to tranfer.  Already have files on new computer, but wont show up in iTunes

I guess my title is too long, sorry.  Old computer crashed, have new computer, already tranfered songs to new computer, but can't get them to show up in ITunes.  I have 2007 version of IPod, only a few songs on, and won't even transfer those.

Finally figured it out.  Just had to store all my songs/ folders in the iTunes folder.  My old computer folder set up threw me off, had duplicate folders of songs that messed everything up when copied over.
Thanks for your help though, appreciate it.

Move the content from the old computer to the new computer.
Sync the iPhone via cable to the new computer and enable Wi-Fi syncing.
It should now be possible to sync via Wi-Fi to the new computer.

  • HT1386 I am re-building my iTunes library, but still have all the content on my iPod Classic.  I have just downloaded some songs from the store and want to add them to the iPod, BUT when i attempt this the message asks if I want to delete all content on t

I am rebuilding my iTunes library, but still have all the old content on my iPod Classic.  I have just download some songs from the iStore and want to add them to the iPod, BUT when I try to sync it asks if I want to delete all content from the iPod and add only the material that I have just downloaded from the Store.  I do not want to lose my old content, because it is very extensive.

You are trying to sync to other than the one iTunes library you can sync to. You can copy music from multiple library/computer if you use the manual method of syncing. That method is described here
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
If you want to make this computer/iTunes library your syncing computer/library you have to restore the iPod on this computer/library. Restoring erases the iPod.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
To copy other music to the computer see:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities

  • HT1296 I recently purchased songs from my iphone.  All good...  But I then went to put them on my ipod touch.  They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour.

I recently purchased songs from my iphone.  All good...  But I then went to put them on my ipod touch.  They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour and there is a downlaod symbol in front of the song title.  what do i do next??  They play on my iphone and from the itunes library but not from my ipod touch.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

  • I recently got a new computer and it wont sync with my ipod. How can i get my music and stuff on my computer

I recently got a new computer and it wont sync with my ipod. How can i get my music and stuff on my computer?

iPods and other iDevices are not backup or storage devices.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder (and all other desired data) from the old computer to the new computer.

I have new Computer. Purchased Acrobat Pro in 2008.  Need to re-download, and it doesn't work.

If you reply be email instead of this forum, I cannot reply directly.
I tried the alternate method, as suggested in the email I just received:
DJScreenName please try the steps offered in Troubleshoot Akamai Download Manager 3 | Trial products - http://helpx.adobe.com/tech-comm-suite/kb/troubleshoot-akamai-download -manager-3.html.
And this make a tiny file that does nothing.
I downlooad all the time.  I have a serial number.  Why can't I simply doenwooald this softwware?
When I use MS Inet explorer with Akamai, it now says "Content verification failure".
Is there a problem downloading Acrobat 9 Pro for some reason?

  • HT1386 Have new computer and have autorized it, but cannot send new purchases to my ipod nano?

Have new computer and added it to home group and have authorized computer, however, cannot get new purchases to transfer to my ipod. Please help

You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception being itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases
