My question is pretty well explanatory. Can I, with help from iBook software, produce a book to offer in the traditional way to literary agents. Don't have iPad. Certainly can't afford one.

Sounds like a dead end (iBA specifically targets iBook on iPad with a hybrid epub), unless you can find an aggregator willing to rework your content into at least regulation epub format.
Use Pages, instead. Then you can output something that the agents can at least handle for printing and general epub distribution.

Go to System Preferences and click Sign Out, select Delete at all the prompts, then sign back in with the changed ID? (Your iCloud data will disappear from your Mac when you sign out and choose Delete, but will still be in iCloud. FCP, and all software on OSX, has a few different "preference" files (the extension is .plist), which store all your user settings. Each time you resize a window, change a setting, anything, this file is re-written. Kinda easy to see how they would become corrupt every now and then.
-Close FCP
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences and delete com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data and delete Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs
-Empty your trash
Relaunch FCP and see if that worked.
Download FCP Rescue to make this process easier in the future. When you have FCP running really smooth, open FCP Rescue and create a backup of your preference files. If it starts acting wanky, just run FCP Rescue and Restore your backup preferences. Works really slick, and it's free.

If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

I can't connect to my MacBook because I can't get THAT to start. It just sits in it's blue screen With the apple, spinning it's gear. All this happened after I used mackeeper. Hello, If you are dealing with one of the really thin iMac's that have no superdrive, then the superdrive icon should not appear on the desktop when you plug it in, but when you put in a disk (CD, DVD, etc.) that should appear. If you go into disk utility, and look at superdrive, that should be clickable and not grayed out when you have it plugged in. If this does not show up in disk utility, go to Apple, and ask to speak to their supervisor, speaking to a customer service agent is like talking to a potato, nothing gets done. Good Luck!

Are you expecting to see the apps that you can see on the iPad, on the Mac?
iOS apps which run on your iPad and use the iOS operating system, won't run on your Mac, which usues a different operating system, OS X.
