Have Siri read back messages, reminders

When I'm using Siri hands-free in my car via Bluetooth, she'll read back the content of texts and reminders, but not when I'm not using Bluetooth. Also, if I'm searching for a location, say the best place nearby for BBQ, she'll automatically select the top one on the list and launch Maps to get me there.
Is there a way to enable this functionality so that it's running even when not in a Bluetooth / hands-free environment?

New Email notification only looks unread for about 3 minutes even if I have not read the message

I have just started using Microsft Outlook to use my yahoo account. Both of those services show a new message as unread indefinitely but for some reason, my 8310 only shows the new email as new for about 3 minutes.
In the BB Mail-Options General options - I have the Display Message count as Unread, and the Display New Message INdicator as Yes, and under the Email Reconciliation it reads On. It used to work fine but all of the sudden something has changed.
Does anyone have any tips on this issue? I would hate to miss an important new message when I am traveling.

Take it to apple store and don't replace it with the new one my son had the same problem he was in there about 10 minutes and walked out with a new phone

Is there a way to make the font bigger. I like the iPhone but need a bigger screen. I hope there is a bigger screen in the future because as the iphone ages so does its users.

Just reading through this post and the best way to Reset SIRI is to go to Settings>General>Siri and then turn SIRI off. This erase's anything SIRI has learn't about you, all you have to do then is turn SIRI back on and it is reset. It is not necessary to reset the iPhone itself.
SIRI can only read back unread Txt messages, if you have opened a Txt message and already read it you can not have SIRI read it back to you. Don't forget SIRI is still in BETA and will take a little while while Apple tweek this technology.

Can Siri read messages if I turn preview off?

Hello good people. My question is about the iPhone and it's a little specific but I figure if anyone can help me it would be you good people. So here goes. Is it possible for Siri to read me my texts if I turn the "preview in lock screen" option off in Notifications for Messages? I would like to be able to have Siri read me my messages without having "preview in lock screen" on.

I would need a little more information on this issue to provide a better answer. Are you attempting to use a Bluetooth device with Siri? If this is the case, here are some troubleshooting steps that I would recommend going through.
Using Siri with audio accessories
Siri will work with many audio accessories, including wired and wireless headsets and car stereos.
Find information about troubleshooting Bluetooth headsets and headphones.
Find information about troubleshooting car stereo connections.
If you are using an audio device that connects using the Dock Connector, Siri will not route through that device. You will need to continue to use your device, wired headset, or Bluetooth headset to interact with Siri.
If you are using your iOS device with a device that uses a Remote User Interface, ensure that you control your iOS device using the car stereo or other device. Attempting to control your iOS device directly through either touchscreen, Siri, or Voice Control won't work.

Why wont Siri read out my messages and only gives business and traffic ?

If it wasn't bad enough that SIRI can only give you traffic and business locations in the US "I can only look for businesses, maps, and traffic in the United States, and when your're using U.S. English. Sorry about that." but it wont even read out my text messages. All it says is "Message from xxx" then goes silent then asks if I would like to respond. When I look at the message its full words as we dont like to use slang or TLA's

I'd call it a feature. I don't want Siri reading my messages when I'm in a meeting, and some of the messages could be embarrassing. The iPhone gives you a choice; turn on text message previews if you want Siri to read your messages aloud without unlocking the phone, or turn off if you don't. Compelete control.

Why does my Iphone 5 alert my text messages after I have already read them?

I recently got an iPhone 5 about a month ago and for the first two weeks it was running perfectly but lately I have noticed a few issues with it and the biggest one being that my phone delays the alert of my text messages. For example, I could be on my phone and the badge saying I have a text message will show up but my phone won't ring or create a banner until minutes after I have already read the message and moved on. I'm wondering if this is a data usage problem on my part or something along those lines, or if it's just a malfunction of the phone. (Note: I have only used 4 GB of my phone and have about 9GB left) Any help regarding my issue would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

This problem is usually carrier related. Contact the carrier.

Siri should be able to read your unread text messages. Is that what you're asking it to read?

When you down load message it doesn't open. The only message you receive is RETRIVING.
Also attachments cannot be opened.

There is a bug in Mail triggered by receiving a password-protected PDF as an attachment. According to reports, the bug is fixed in OS X 10.8.5.

New texts do not display in the open conversation; have to toggle back to the Messages menu and then re-enter the conversation to read newly-received texts.

When I have a conversation open, new texts from that person do not immediately show. Instead I hear the text tone, see Messages (1) in the upper lefthand corner, and have to toggle back to the main menu and then re-enter the conversation to read it. Irritating! Help?

Will an iphone 4S voice read back to me a response to a text message?

I can send a text with voice control but can the 4S read to me the response on the phone. Phone is being used by a blind person and SIRI will be very helpful but someone told me that SIRI will not read a text response.

Go to Settings, General, Accessibility and go under Vision. Turn on Speak Selection. I believe that requires a bit of sight to be able to select the text area.
To get Siri to read back a text message, I believe you have to turn on Preview, and after that when a text message comes in, you can active Siri to "read last text message". I believe that is the only setting you need for Siri.
