Hi all,
I know some guy who works at Apple. He's got a special badge so if he comes around with me in an Apple Store, I can have 10% off. But he tells me that by going through the online store, he can have 25% off.
So basically my question is: can I use the warranty if he buys it for me thru the online store?
Because I guess he has to buy it with his name, and then if I have to use the warranty (by the time I'll be back to France so I can't have him bring it back for me... And his internship will be over) it won't be my name in their records.
A second question would be:
I know this is a user forum so there's no employee but have one of you ever done such a thing?

The original one year warranty does not follow a person, it only follows the computer.
If the computer is registered to you (you can register it no matter who buys it), then you can enroll an AppleCare Protection Plan under your own name. This APP will follow you and the computer together.
If the computer is purchased in one country and it's home is going to be in a different country, don't register the computer until you're in the home country. When you turn on the computer for the first time, it will ask you to register but you can press Apple-q and then click the button to "skip" the registration. This will put a shortcut to register the computer into the Documents folder of the first user you create so you can register it later. When you're home, you can register the computer and then later, if you choose, purchase an AppleCare Protection Plan to extend the warranty in your home country.

Contact the Apple account security team and get their assistance resetting the password: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699. Once the password is reset, the other party will no longer have access to your iCloud account. Then you can go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

I think apple named your drive snow08. I really don't think they would replace your drive without the new one completly erased, that would be pretty sloppy of them. I guess they could have, i just do not think they would have!

Someone else buying songs

I was signed into my ipad and I got an email saying that someone else was on my account from a different computer and buying songs on itunes. They bought at least 12 songs without my permission. I have no idea who is doing this. I finally got it to stop by not allowing my ipad to have access to itunes anymore. Otherwise the songs would have continued to download, one right after the other. They are songs I wouldn't never have downloaded and have never heard. How do I get my money back? And how to I bump up the security so this never happens again?

I changed the password and that didn't help, they kept spending money somehow? I had giftcards out there, so it has not reached my credit card. I called my credit card company and canceled my card. Thanks for your help. I sent a message to itunes support, but they take 24 hours to respond to you...

I have someone else's calendar on my iphone. how safe is our info?

I got a replacement iphone after dropping mine...once...
I assumed this was a new phone.But when I looked in the calendar, I found someone else's information, some of which looks confidential.
I have just given the 'genius bar' my old iphone to replace, which although it didn't work properly, obviously has MY confidential info on it too.

It wasn't required to activate your replacement iPhone with O2 thru iTunes before being able to use it, followed by an iTunes sync process, or a Restore process to restore your replacement iPhone with your previous iPhone's backup - restoring the settings from your previous iPhone followed by a sync?
The iPhone includes an Erase All Content and Settings option, which you should have used before turning over your iPhone for the exchange.
Per the warranty, an exchange under warranty can be a new or refurbished iPhone. A refurbished iPhone should have the current firmware version installed with no other data - the same as a new iPhone.

Why does my updates have someone else's user ID?

I can access my App Store but, when I go to update my apps it asks me for a password on someone else's user ID. I have connected my phone on my friends laptop, and tried to send some files to my phone but it didn't even work???

The apps that are attempting to update were purchased by an alternate apple id. To update these specific apps you will need to login to your itunes and app store using these specified apple id. If you don't wish to update these specific apps you can always delete these apps and re-download apps using your apple id. Keep in mind when deleting the old apps this will then remove the historical data with the apps. If you need to keep the archived history of the apps you will then need to login to itunes with the app that originally downloaded the apps.

Is Someone Else Using My Email For Their Device?

One evening, a question popped up on my iPod touch when I was using it asking if some person could use it for my facetime,
I tried to deny it, but it kept popping up everytime i would try to deny it, I got frustrated so I just accepted it.
During a messaging conversation, messages that weren't from me started popping up into the conversation
and when I was facetiming, the person I was talking to said someone else appeared on her screen instead of me.
Not only that, but pictures of the person are showing in my photos and in my photostream.
How do I stop this?

Yes, Since Revenue comes from App Store and not via Adobe, your client can purchase an Apple iOS Developer account and the Apps you build should be submitted via your client's iOS Developer account, thus all proceeding would go to your client. As you mentioned, if your client is unable to create certificates/Upload the viewer, he'll need to share credentials with you.

Recently someone in India bought an iPhone 5 and now every time he downloads an app to it, I get the receipt for it in my inbox. His apple ID is his gmail address, which is somewhat similar to mine, so I'm guessing he set my email address as his accidentally, and was apparently able to do so without verification (I find it hard to believe Apple would allow this, but apparently they do). I tried to log on to his Apple ID account to change the settings, but the recovery email address for the password reset is not set to my email address. So, can anyone help me figure out how to get his Apple ID unlinked from my email address? I would be grateful.
I got on gmail ca 2004 and was able to get simply my first name @gmail, which seemed amazing at the time, but now that the whole Indian subcontinent is getting online in full force, with many people apparently not understanding that you can't just use any email address you want, and because my first name is a common name in Pakistan and India, people accidentally sign me up for mailing lists over there multiple times a day. I get resumes sent to me daily, responses for classified ads that I didn't post, and often the sites are set up such that I have to log on to unsubscribe, but I don't have the password so I can't...it's getting out of control! A friend accused me of switching an email account that I used several years ago to send them photos on Flikr (gmail) for their Apple ID - in other words of.messing with their account. I only used the gmail account to post / send them and several other people photos on a few occasions and have not used the account since. I forgot that I had it. When this friend couldn't access their iTunes account the store discovered that the email had been reset to my very old gmail address. How is this possible? Now, they are accusing me of hacking in although no purchases were made and nothing was done with the account. Still, my reputation is at stake. Could they have done it in error? It looks bad for me. BBM on Z10 suddenly on someone else's name.

I was travelling abroad and on returning home, a friend told me that they could no longer see me on their BBM. Upon opening my BBM, I had a message about switching to this device. As I had replaced my Z10 3 months ago, I thought it was a system check and accepted the request and now I have someone else's bbm profile with no contacts.... I have done a security wipe and restore, but it seems that person's bbm is now associated with my bbid. Please help!

Sounds like someone managed to get your password and hack into to your BBID. I'd change your password immediately. You can change it at www.bbid.com
