Have Student discount, charged full price after a year

Hello, I have had the student disount for a year and was charged full price this month.  Is the discount only good for a year? Or Can I renew if so? 

Hi velocity_love! The student discount does expire after one year, but you are able to renew it for a total of four years of discount. To re-apply simply go through the same process you did the first time around. Please let me know if you need anything else. Cheers!

    Up until March 3rd, 2015, I was paying the student discount rate of 4.99/month. However, in April I started receiving charges of the full price. I am still a student and have been since I opened the account. I just realized the charges today and would like a refund and preferably not a subscription extension as I've seen in other posts.

    Hey  unfortunately, no. But, if you register again, the discount will be applied on the next renewal date, which is in your subscription status. You'll then get that discount for the full 12 months again.

    If you bought Logic 9 less than a month ago then Apple will most likely refund you so that you can buy Logic X instead.
    The full (only) price of Logic X is as staed on the App Store. This price (whether people agree or disagree, like it or not like it) is still less than any upgrade price for any other DAW.
    A lot of people here are saying they bought Logic 9 6 months or a year ago and want a cheaper price. For me, I started on Logic 5.5. Logic 6, you could pay an upgrade price that was way over what the full app is now but you had to add costs as things like Space Designer were extra. Their serial numbers, once purchased, got added to you XS Key, which was a dongle that never got hacked in 6 and a half years.
    Apple, on acquiring Emagic, dropped the price from $1000 to $499, included all the things you had to pay extra for then dropped the price to what it is now once they went over to the App Store. They also dropped the un-cracked dongle.
    So myself and a lot of other people here went 5.5 to 6 (added the goodies that were extra) to 7 to 8 and to 9. When there was an upgrade price, the price was around what the app is now.
    I'm amazed at how many people see this as a full price and want money off whereas in reality a complete piece of softwaser is being offered for an upgrade price.
    My first paragraph will answer your question and you probably won't care about the rest of the post. $199 or £139 IS an upgrade price.

    I have a small rant and a warning for other customers! I have a line on my account that I haven't used in a long time that I am still paying for. Previously (under some previous promotion, they said) they let me switch one of my lines to the Edge program. So I thought I would try my luck and upgrade that line to a tablet through Edge. I went through the whole process and placed the order. No where in this entire process did it say I could not do this. I chose the device I wanted and options such as insurance. It told me I had no balance due or if I wanted to I could do a down payment. All was fine and well, submitted the order. It let me go through the whole process as though I was doing the edge program. Then I get an email saying they were charging my bank account nearly $700 for the full price. No explanation as to why. So I call and they said oh you weren't eligible. So instead of saying to me,"this line isn't eligible, would you like to buy this outright?" they just assumed I was going to and charged me the full amount without any sort of warning! I didn't agree to that. Not only did I have to cancel my order.. I was pretty disappointed that 1. they would just charge you without warning and 2. I didn't get my ipad I know I still had an active contract and if its not time, then its not time, thats not my issue. My issue is that they would take money and not even tell you thats what would happen. In all reality it shouldn't even let you go through the process if you are ineligible. Not sure that I will do edge anymore or get anymore devices from verizon. I may just buy outright from apple from now on as I have in the past I have to say, I love my verizon service, def the best in my area. BUT, they without a doubt have the WORST customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. You can call 3 times and ask the same question but get 3 different answers.

    You refuse to comprehend that I agree with you. YOU SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED MORE THAN YOU AGREED TO WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE!!! I have never disagreed with you on that but for whatever reason you choose to ignore that and pretend like that is what I said. Now if me pointing out that you attempted to do something you knew you weren't yet eligible to do just because you were able to do it before and decided to take your chances by trying it again is considered rude...then ok. It doesn't make what you're doing suddenly ok just because you managed to get through the cracks before. It just means that you were lucky that time and you decided to push your luck again. Doing something and getting away with despite knowing it's not supposed to happen and then trying again but getting upset when someone tells you the truth...that you tried something wrong is amusing. I never said you got upset because you didn't get what you wanted (although you kind of did). I just stated a fact. You attempted something that you shouldn't have. NONE OF THAT MEANS YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED FULL RETAIL WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE UNLESS THAT IS SOMETHING THAT VZW EXPRESSLY HAS AS PART OF THE TERMS.
    I provided you with some routes to try and get some concrete answers as to why they did it. You may also want to contact your bank if the money hasn't been credited back to your payment method yet so they can do it and investigate the charge. I wish you well but your being upset at my honesty and trying to turn it into something else was unnecessary. It doesn't change the truth nor will it hurt my feelings. Being called rude online hardly means anything when I haven't shown you rude at all. Good luck! And I hope you get the device you want soon.

  • Buy season full price after buying episodes

    Over the past couple of weeks I was puchasing individual episodes of a television show.  I planned on purchasing the season when the price dropped below the 2.99 I have been paying for episodes.
    This past week when the purchase season price was around 4 dollars I bought another 2.99 episode.  After doing this the "Buy Season" button reset itself and now reads full price to purchase season instead of around 1 dollar which I would expect it to be.
    I'm using:

    I signed up for a Student Discount with my .edu email account and got an email within a few minutes asking me to confirm my email address. Its been over 24 hours since I confirmed my email and I still haven't received the discount code. I have also:
    - checked the spam / trash / junk folders of my email

    A couple of months ago, I helped a high school student buy his mbp wtih the discount with my college ID. Now lets say I decide to buy myself a mbp tomorrow, can I still get the student discount on another (on my own) mbp? Even if I have lent the discount to my friend months ago this year?

    If I were you and asked Apple how to go about this, I would not tell them you are "cheating" the system. I thought about doing that with one of my friends, but I thought making up the $100 is more fair to him than taking his one laptop / desktop college discount a year. If you are worried about paying full price and you are not able to afford it this week or next week, or even this month; take the bus or ride your bike and save your $100.
