that is not correct. the cpu is built for up to 90°C on die surface, as amd says in it's white papers. to avoid probs, you should keep the temps under 65°C, or better around 60°C. anaything above could be problematic, anything below is nice

Will the new ATI graphics card work on PowerMac G5 Quad?

Hello,
I'm having a problem with my PowerMac G5 Quad, simply the graphics card is at fault. The rest of the machine is in perfect working order. I need a new graphics card and i've searched ebay (UK) and found some products. However, I would like a new graphics card with a little more power.
As I develop code using the OpenCL API on the windows machine, I would like to transfer this process over to my Mac (have to install OpenCL API myself, as Leopard does not have native OpenCL support). More importantly, OpenCL supports selected GPU types i.e. latest GPUs from ATI/Nvidia.
Simply put, would anyone know or have experience installing the newer ATI/NVIDIA generation of Mac Graphic cards on PowerMac G5 Quads and if so, which graphic card (ATI RADEON 4850 etc).
As I think about this, both PowerMac G5 Quad and Mac Pro utilise PCI-E and yes, even though graphics cards are not particularly interchangeable on different architectures (or are they?) I would just like to know if anyone can give me advice or if anyone has had success or failure at such an attempt.
I really cannot afford to buy a Mac Pro machine and there is still many years of life left in my PowerMac G5. I really need your help and advice friends.

No modern card will work in a G5.
The best that one can do in a PCIe graphics G5 is to use a flashed Geforce 7800 GTX 512MB card.
That card is the pinnacle of GPU power for a G5.
There are no options beyond that.

First, to prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your iPod. You may also want to turn off the ability to install apps, to prevent purchases in case the child gets hold of your iTunes Store account information, and set the password to be required immediately. In pages I have the new logo and when I try to open a document it says I need an update to open. My computer says pages has been updated. Any suggestions?

You are not on OSX 10.7.4, you are on OSX 10.9.
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
The newer Pages 5 in your Applications folder which can open the older Pages '09 but frequently alters/damages the file.
The older Pages '09 in your Applications/iWork folder which can not open the newer Pages 5 files.
You appear to be alternately opening one or the other.
Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5.

Best is to archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting its files back to Pages '09 versions, then rate/review it in the App Store, and get back to work.

I have the 'new' iPad and it won't charge when I plug it into an electrical outlet. It has been charging fine up until last week.

I have the New iPad and the last two times I went to charge it overnight, it didn't charge. I tried moving the charger to a different outlet and it would click to indicate that it was charging and then it would stop. Finally, it did charge, but today it just won't begin to charge. Is this a common problem? Very frustrating after paying the big bucks to get the latest iPad.

There are probably three reasons your ipad might not charge:
1. The outlet is. It good. But you've already changed outlets so that may not be the likely cause. Just to be sure double check the outlets with another appliance to make sure the outlet has power.
2. The charger is bad. First make sure you are using the charger that came with your iPad. Then double check all your connections.
3. Your connector on the iPad may have dirt in it. Blow the dust out and try again.
If none of these work your iPad may be falty or you may need a new charger. Goto a apple store and have them check out your hardware.

This seems from what I've read at least to be a good or even great overclocker, It's too bad that It isn't a full ATX motherboard, Maybe If sales are good enough MSI will use this chipset on a Full size ATX motherboard one day. Of course It does have an Integrated ATI video card in It and It have as much as 128Mb ram for the pci-e built-in video or You could add a separate pci-e video card in the 16x slot. Well at least You aren't buying from Logic Circle Systems That place will ship incompatible ram that is Intel approved and say then It is You cpu that is at fault, I should know I'd bought zoom3's motherboard and some Wintec ram(Samsung chips ending in TCCC) and They said they were tested and AMD approved(They aren't, Wintrec is Junk on an AMD Platform), I now have a Corsair CMX512RE-3200LL Dimm and My cpus work fine at PC3200 speeds and above, Logic Circle Systems said was at fault. Actually your suggestions are the ones that i have tried. i have seen that you have tried to help others with this issue and the only one that i could find that said they found the problem said that it was an ilife update issue and it fixed it and i have no available updates. i know it has to do with something in photo stream because it happens when i create a new library and it is loading the photos but i get the message before i reach the maximum 1000 photos. so i've tried updating, new library(first backing up photos and then deleting them from iPhoto), reinstalling OSX many times, running disc utilities. I called Apple the first day i had this issue and i was the first person to call them for support with the retina display and i actually had it escalated to a senior advisor and we thought we fixed the problem but we did not. i am pretty fluent in dealing with troubleshooting these type of issues and this is the first time i'm reaching out to the community. i figured now that the retina has been out some time now that there would be an obvious answer to this issue. thanks for the quick reply.

This is still pretty annoying. Some of us actually make, and use our own templates. For example, I do tons of product mockups in my day to day and I have a series of basic templates laid out that I use for including the mock up image and the various specifications for each product. It's been super easy, in CS4, to choose file / new from template and just pop my template open. It was even nifty enough that Bridge would redirect to my templates folder for me.
Sure, I know I can still save my templates to another folder and use them as I always have, but the question is why would they just remove this? For all of the bloat that Adobe constantly adds on to this suite of applications, year after year, why on earth would they just remove a simple, useful, entirely unobtrusive feature such as file / new from template?

How do you activate a 10.10.3 download. I have downloaded twice (2 gig each) and have restarted as instructed. I have also rebooted. "About this Mac' still reports 10.10.2 installed and I do not have the new photo app.

I have downloaded 1010.3 twice (2+gig each). The update window shows the 10.10.3 update has been installed, however, 'About this Mac' shows 10.10.2 installed and I don't have the new 'photo' app installed. Once more, the quality of Apple software approaches that of Microsoft - letting the user debug instead of delivering the quality that used to be Apple.
How do I activate the downloaded update.

There may well be a problem with the update package. I initially tried downloading the delta update (not the combo) from the Apple Support web site, and when I opened the package file, the installer ran but terminated almost immediately. I restarted and only got the normal reboot process, not the "Installing software" display. After restarting, I saw some evidence that the firmware updater was cleaning up some files, but nothing else appeared to have happened except that the 1.5Gb package file and a couple small subsidiary files had been left under /Library/Updates/_ManualUpdate.
I tried running the command line softwareupdate tool to see if it would recognize the already-downloaded package file (which is something you might also want to try before downloading again just in case it works), but no such luck. I then relented and used App Store, and that downloaded again and then performed the update successfully.
Of course, then I had to horse around with turning off all the "photos in the cloud" nonsense, but that's another story.
