Have to be a wifi printer to print through airplay?

hi you all,
i have to use an wifi support on my printer to print from airplay?
its not enough that the printer connected to my airport router via usb or straight to my mac?

It says here that AirPort Utility 6.2 supports WPS-capable WiFi printers, but on the new AirPort Extreme techs pecs Apple insists that the way printing is shared is by connecting the printer to the AirPort Extreme with a USB cable, which really defeats the whole purpose of WiFi printing doesn't it?

Have never been able to print

I have never been able to print through Bonjour to a shared printer connected to a 10.4 machine. Whenever I try, the print system crashes and the printer needs to be restarted, and then I must restart the queue on the server. The only way to actually print is to move the file to the server and print from there. It even crashes if I open the folder AFP and try to print while the file is open from the remote machine.
Is this normal? It worked perfectly under 10.4 and is totally broken under 10.5.

Definitely not normal. It would help to know the printer model.
Have you tried any of the other protocols to print from Mac to Mac? IP > LPD or IPP, Samba (Windows Printing), for troubleshooting?

Can't print through Time Capsule using Windows-operating computers

I've just bought a time capsule 500GB and it's working fine. It backups my macbook every hour and I can easily print whatever file I want through my Canon iP1800 series, which is connect to WAN port of my time capsule.
However, I have others 2 notebooks running windows, and I can't print from them wirelessly. I've installed the airport utility and Bonjour in both computers using the CD that came with my time capsule and I followed these instructions of an old topic here (_but it didn't work out_):
“1. Make sure the printer is recognized by the base station.
2. Select 'Add a new printer' in Windows
3. Select 'Local Printer' in the dialog box (auto detect and install
should be off), click next.
4. Choose 'Create a new port' and "Standard TCP/IP Port'. Click next.
5. For the printer IP address, enter the address of the base station 10.0.1.1. The port name will be filled automatically. Click next.
6. For the device type, choose 'Hewlet Packard Jet Direct', then click Finish.
Choose your printer from the list and follow the rest of the prompts to install and configure the driver.”
Do someone have any idea to tell me what's happening? How can I fix this problem and have Mac and Windows laptops printing through my time capsule?

When you installed bonjour did the Bonjour Print Wizard appear on your desktop? Or in the program menu?

In my personal experience Bonjour sometimes doesn't install properly and doesn't appear on either the desktop or program menu, particularly if it is installed at the same time as another piece of apple software. Each of the times this happened I removed bonjour, using Windows Setup:Add/Remove programs, and then downloaded it again individually.
If you have the same experience as me you'll then be asked if you want to install a shortcut to the printer wizard. The wizard has done the trick for me. I've not yet had to resort to the rather more complicated "add new printer" route.

Printing through the network

I have heard the I can print through my wireless network. Just where do I have to go and what do I have to do to get that going ? I want to be able to print to a printer upstairs from a pc downstairs. The pecee recieves a signal from my wreless router by my macpro.

This whole thing began when I asked the tech at school if he had ever used a bluetooth printer. He reponded by saying, "Why would I ? I can just print through the network," I had been thinking of getting a bluetooth printer so my partner could print from downstairs, The printer upstairs prints through the usb cable from the mac pro. No ethernet connection no blutooth on this printer. So this is what leads me to the question.
So it's the printer sharing I need to look at in system preferences ! Thanks. It's got to be possible to go cross platform. I print from both pc and mac to a printer in the room next to mine at school. I've never done anything but add printer from an available printer list which is identifiedby room number or entering the ip address for the printer. I've not needed to do anything about sharing printer in settings. Would this mean the mac pro which it's connected to needs to be on to print from the pcee downstairs or just that the network be active ?

Unfortunately, connecting a non-AirPrint-enabled printer to an AirPort base station's USB port will not make it AirPrint-ready.
You will need to use another solution, like Printopia, to be able to print to this printer from an iOS device.

Not using any mouse pad, I have a very smooth desktop. But I just tried to use a sheet of A4 printing paper, but no result, the problem persisted.
Someone on this forum suggested, that USB3 may interfere with the magic mouse.
I have 2 LaCie HDD's about 70 cm away from the mouse, I use them on Thunderbolt. But in operation or not - the result is the same, the mouse plays up! Just now I was clicking the desktop and the mouse created a new folder!!

Also, when im viewing websites and i find something i wish to print, same again, if i simply click on the print option at the top right of the screen nothing happens... the only way I can print is if i copy the weblink of the site page then click on my HP eprint app and paste the web link, then select print, it prints off fine.. but its it such a pain to keep copying and pasting links or screen dumping emails just to print...

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. We have an imac 27, with 2 accounts. We share a Canon 9000 II printer, wired.. If my wife prints a photo it printes perfectly When I print the same pic from my account, overall dark magenta cast. Ideas????

We have an iMac 27, wife and I each have an administrator account. When she prints a pic from iphoto, or from the web, the colors are perfect, they match the monitor. When i print the same pic from my account, there is a dark magenta cast overall. Same printer, same driver, same paper. Using a Canon 9000series II printer, connected by wire. This is a new phenomenon. Using new inks, cartridges are full, all lit. Any ideas what could be causing this weird phenomenon???

A first step is to reset the printer from your account:
Apple Menu > System Preferences > Printers: right click in the list of printers and select Reset Printing System

And where you are Trying to print from May only work with AirPrint able printers which the epson would not be
