Have to do CMOS reset (remove battery, hold power btn 30 secs) almost daily.
My Toshiba Satellite P75-A7200 started with this problem about 8 months ago. At first it would only occur when the battery died. When I plugged in the laptop it would not turn back on until I did a CMOS reset by removing the battery and holding the power button down for 30 seconds. I use the laptop often when I am away from my house so this would be a normal occurance. It was an annoyance but not terribly inconvenient as the battery charge would last a decent amount of time and I would rarely run the battery until dead.
Now this occurs even when I turn the laptop off, not just when the battery dies. This means I have to do the reset multiple times per day.
I am hoping there is a BIOS setting or some other trick that can be done to prevent this.

locked ipod touch with password - tried to reset ipod by holding power button and home button for 10 seconds and it came up asking for password again
If you forgot your screen-lock passcode then:
Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
For how to restore:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTuns purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -
Removing battery, disconnecting power or keep both while using MBP?
I use my MBP about 8 hours a day and I keep the power adapter connected all the time. At the end of the day I put my MBP to sleep.
There are months and months that I don't travel, therefore I don't need to use the MBP's battery as the only source of power since it's always plugged to the power adapter. I have to say that I'm very good at calibrating my MBP every month as this article says: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86284
What is the best option:
1. Disconnect my MPB from the power as if I were comuting or traveling during the day, every day. Then connect the power to recharge the battery at the end of day.
2. Leave my MBP connected and take the battey out the MBP and not use it. Use the battery only when I travel.
3. Keep doing what I am doing: Leave the power adapter connected, the battery in the MBP, and calibrate every month.
4. Other.
Thanks fo your adviceUltimately, you can to all of the above and you should do whatever you're most confortable with. However, different treaments will result in differing battery performance in the meduim to longer term.
In my experience those laptop owners that accrue around 200-300 charge cycles at the 2 year stage tend to have the batteries that perform the best at that time. Batteries are like our bodies, they need excerise the stay in top shape and the better shape you're in the fewer problems you'll have later in life.
My recommended regimen is to use your MBP on battery regularly so that you do around 2-3 charge cycles per week (this translates to using it on battery for an hour or so per day) along with a calibration every 4 to 8 weeks. Also, when normally using it on battery try not to stray past 20% remaining charge so don't be doing your charge cycles all at one as that'll ultimately result as a calibration which is not what you want. Beyond that, keep it connect to AC power as much as you like. -
2nd Gen Time Capsule - will not power up - just stopped working all of a sudden - I have tried other power outlets - I have tried pressing the reset button - no light
The power supply is shot. But that it lasted even this long is the wonder.. not that it died.
The TC runs too hot..
Look on ebay for "Time Capsule power supply"
You can get a replacement and fix it although the economics are not so good.. it is probably time for a new TC.
If you can DIY it is really only a few dollars worth of capacitors that go bad.

Reset PMU after removing battery
Is there a line missing in the instructions at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=14449 for resetting the Power Management Unit for the iBook G4 among others? They do not mention removing the battery and power cord. The instructions for several other Macs do say that. I could only get my new battery (from the recall) to start charging after resetting the PMU with the battery & power cord removed.
iBook G4 12 inch Mac OS X (10.4.7) New battery from recall on 8/14/06Since the iBookG4 1.33 mid-2005 model is similar to the
PowerBook 12" from that era, the procedure to do the PMU
is not surprising in its success, as you have found.
Even though the instructions do not say it, I read in a pdf
file where that is an option for the iBookG4 last model, too.
Good that you pointed this out, as the instruction is not
exact in this regard. ~ Thank you, too! -
My remote for my Apple TV just stopped working and I have tried putting in a new battery, re-pairing the remote, resetting the device by unplugging it, and I checked the infared coming from the remote is working. The light just blinks at me 3 times what else can I try to fix it?
Have you tried unpairing the remote? You do this by pointing your remote at the Apple TV and holding the MENU and Left buttons down together for 6 seconds.

Anybody have an ipad that will not power on, for no reason? My ipad always worked fine and then one day it shut down because the battery was low so I plugged it in and it will not power on. Tryed the hard reset option still no power on

Data sense usage reset on battery remove?
Hi.
When I turned off phone (635) and removed battery for a while, My data sense data was reset.
Is this normal behavior or it is a bug?I am curious - did you set the time and date correctly on the phone again?
It will lose the time and date when the battery is removed, but I expect it to keep the data sense information.
(My brother has borrowed the Lumia 630, so I can not test at the moment) -

You replaced the battery yourself or Apple did it?
If you did it, you messed something up.
If Apple did it, take it back. -
When will the iphone have a removable battery
With events such as Sandy, we can pre-charge several batteries and swap them when we have no power so it will last several instead of one day.
There are other external batteries other than the Mophie that are significantly less money.
The battery life of my iPhone 5 is superior to the life of the iPhone 4 that is replaced.
I carried a Treo with an extra battery. Pain in the *** and at best would get 2 hours more of life and it was a pain keeping track of the charge cycles. A removable battery would necessitate a larger phone, more complexity, more ways to get moisture in it and the battery life would be less than what it now has. Even MacBook Pros don't come with removable batteries anymore.
How many people do you know who have an iPhone? And does this mean that people who have Androids are able to charge theirs but iPhone owners can't? -
my computer won't turn on. I have removed battery and turned off and on. I can hear the drive and fan. But the screen is blank.
I'd suggest making an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar - they would be able to diagnose it (free) and then you'd know if it's a hardware issue.

i have an iphone 3gs the old battery was useless so i replaced it with a new battery but it wont hold a charge now it used to charge to old battery but would just turned off if disconnected to its not the dock connecter any advice
Advice:
1. Learn to use punctuation and sentence structure - your post makes little sense.
2. I'm getting the idea you now want to use your old "useless" battery. Why, if it's useless?
