Have to re-enter My Yahoo password every launch

I have two Macs and I try to keep them identical and synced. On one, each time I log in or restart, I can get to Safari and myyahoo front page just fine. On the other I get the main page and have to enter my name and password every time. And then I get the Keychain dialogue and have to type my password into that. This is even if I quit Safari and then reopen it.
Does anyone know what the difference might be? I'd like to have it all happen automatically as in the first example. Is this a keychain issue? The "Lock" at the upper left is open on both of them and from what little I know, the settings appear the same.
Help would be dearly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Eddie!
That password is stored as a cookie I believe so Keychain shouldn't be involved with it? If it's ok with you try to reset Safari and then when you go to Yahoo it will not recognize you. Sign into Yahoo and choose to remember your password. Then go to My Yahoo and you should be recognized. It's pretty basic but hopefully it would do the trick. I'm not sure how much you can control the way Yahoo stores cookies on your system...unless it's your cookies settings? Can you check you cookies settings as well and report back?

  • B110 printer - do I have to re-enter the wireless password every time I turn it off?

Hi, I've just bought an HP B110 wireless printer, and set it up wirelessly on my Airport network no problem, but when I turn it off (by the power button on it) and on again it starts up as though it's brand new, loading, then asking for my wireless password (which isn't the quickest thing to type in!) and then telling me to install the software on my computer.  Is there a way I can make it save the login (like any other gadget you can buy does!) because I don't like leaving things running constantly when I'm not going to use it!?

I also just set up an HP B110a. I have the same problem. I cannot believe it. It seems that every time you switch the printer on you have to enter you wireless network password and then you get instructed to put the printer CD in the computer and reinstall the printer driver. Of course you don't ACTUALLY have to reinstall the drivers every time, but you DO, it seems, have to fiddle around with the simulated keyboard pressing buttons dozens of times to enter even a relatively simple password.
Thus it appears in effect you HAVE TO leave your printer permanently switched on, which of course we do not want to do. Please tell me it's not true. Is there a trick we're missing?

  • How come I have to put in a keychain password every time safari or mail is opened? Is there a way I can disable it or save the password so it doesn't pop up every time?

How come I have to put in a keychain password every time safari or mail is opened? Is there a way I can disable it or save the password so it doesn't pop up every time? Also, I have my mail account set up from my Yahoo! account and every time I open mail, it asks for the password for my Yahoo! account. I have checked save this password to keychain and it persists on popping up repeatedly.

You don't want to disable keychain (if there's even a good way to do so), since it stores stuff like certificates and the such.  It's quite useful.
Anyways, Keychains>Preferences>First Aid.  Check Set Login Keychain as default.  When you login, it unlocks the keychain.
    That should help you.

  • Pre keeps asking me to enter my Yahoo password

It's day three of this issue. Looking around the forum, it looks like a lot of us are having issues with email, but I still want to ask if there is a solution for my Pre asking me for my Yahoo password every hour or even more. It's draining my battery! Not to mention a pain in the ass.
I plan to hit the local Sprint store, but want to ask everyone here for help too!
    Thanks!

Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

This just started happening to me last week.
Any ideas on why? I'm not aware of any new webOS updates and haven't changed my account at all as near as I can figure.
If I click on the message and either re-enter or just click Sign In leaving the stored password it works fine.
So it seems like this is just an annoying error message that doesn't actually stop email/contacts/calendar from working with Yahoo.
I find these services to be invaluable. With 3 busy kids all with shared but very active yahoo calendars I can actually keep track of who is supposed to be where when.

  • Constantly being asked to enter my iCloud password, every 5 minutes or so.

    Hey everyone.
I have an iPhone 6 and I am getting that error where im constantly being asked to enter my iCloud password every 5 to 10 minutes, regardless of what im doing.
I've just updated to the latest 8.2 hoping it would fix the issue but it hasn't
Apart from it being quite annoying, as of yesterday, I can no longer connect to my family group, or backup my phone to iCloud.
It has gone from a mere nuisance to not being able to use some key features of my phone.
I've tried restarting, and even changed my iCloud password to no avail.
Does anyone have any insight on this?
    Thank you in advance.

No it won't completely wipe your phone. You can verify that your iCloud information is up to date by going to iCloud.com and checking Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc. These are updated by being pushed between iCloud and the devices signed onto the same iCloud account. The backup is there in case you have to restore you device for some reason.
But simply signing out of and then back in again to iCloud will not erase anything - you would only have to do a restore if your device failed in some way or went into Recovery mode.  Just make sure your photos in the Photo Stream that are over 30 days old are also in your Camera Roll, or have been imported to a computer (or if you are using iCloud Photo Beta, make sure they are there).
You can also do a manual backup to iTunes on the computer you sync with if you wish.
Other than that, everything you see in iCloud.com will be pushed back to your device when you sign on again.
    Cheers,

  • Have to re-enter WEP settings after every restart.

Every time I restart my computer I have to re-enter SSID and WEP key. Does anyone know how to fix it so that the settings will be remembered when the system restarts?
Its connecting to a Netgear access point with 128bit WEP, and SSID broadcast turned off.

Acouple of things to try, but like Tim says, WEP isn't useful...
Enter your network name and password in the Network System Prefs. Go to "Show" menu and choose Airport.
Choose to connect to specific network. Enter Network name (even if SSID broadcast is diabled) For password entered your WEP passphrase (the #1 Key goes here)
Look for the adding-to-keychain option and check it.
Or in Keychain Access, click on Passwords, double click on the one that's for that network, check Show Password... if that's not right correct it.
If it doesn't exist... choose File->New Password Item…
Under Name, Type "Airport Network" with no quotes.
Under Account, enter the SSID, whether it's broadcast or not.
In Password, input the password, mine is hex, so it's preceded with $.
When these are done, click Add.
Then, select the item from the list, and click the Access Control tab. Add /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemUIserver and /Applications/Internet Connect
Then try connecting via Internet Connect.

  • I am asked to enter my wireless password every time I try to go online

Until recently, my computer remembered my WEP password for my wireless connection, but now every time I want to go on the internet I'm asked to enter the password. This problem started when my daughter started using my computer a few days ago. As far as I know she hasn't changed any of the settings on the computer, all she has done is installed Firefox. This is a real nuisance, what can I do to reset my computer so that it remembers my password? I don't want to have to re-enter it multiples times a day when I want to go online. Thanks!

Type a $ in front of the password. See what happens.

  • I just updated my iphone 4 to ios6 and now I can't keep the wifi connection to stay on. I have to keep entering my wifi password when the phone goes to sleep. How do I keep the wifi connection when I wake up the phone?

I just updated my iphone 4 to ios6 and I can't keep the wifi connection when the phone goes to sleep. I need to keep entering my wifi password when I wake up the phone. How do I keep the wifi on each time I walk into my house without reentering my password?

What? Do you work for Apple?
I have been on the phone for Apple since 5:30 Eastern Time today. We are still on the phone with them. It is 10:14 PM. We are going to get a new phone because the ios6 has major problems! The wifi connectivity is a serious problem. Apple is aware of it. More people need to do something about it. I am willing to start a class action suit against them. I have means to an attorney pro bono. If you are having problems using your iphone 4 or 4s with wifi and ios6...I suggest you spend time calling a senior advisor and get a new phone sent to you. They know they messed up but they can't fix it.

  • Why do I have to keep entering my itunes password on my ipad?

Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to have my iTunes password stored so I don't have to keep entering it after I enter my passcode to begin doing anything?  To clarify, I have a passcode set up to begin after 15 minutes of inactivity.  Once that happens, when I reopen my iPad,  I am requested to enter my iTunes password as well.  This wasn't an issue before the last upgrade.  I have tried to find the answer on my own but I'm not having any luck.
Thanks for any suggestions on how to eliminate this minor hassle or let me know if I have to live with it.
