Have to re-render tha same portion of movie. Why?
Simply moving from FCE to another active application (command-tab) and returning to FCE causes the need to re-render the same portion of my movie; always the same portion... What can cause this behaviour? This doesn't happen on other portions of the movie...
Every Application I switch to, I encounter the same issue...
Clips are all about 10 to 20 secs .flv
I discovered that:
If I close and reopen the FCE document the rendering red bar disappeares, and all is fine..but if I switch to any application and return to FCE the red bar comes back and I have to re-render......

I was trying to install OS X Mountain Lion 10.8... and I got an error saying, "This disk has S.M.A.R.T. errors. This disk has a hardware problem that can't be repaired. I saw several other questions below of people having the same or similar problems. Does this mean that my hard drive is about to crash? I plan to head to the place I purchased and have it checked out. I backed up my data a couple of days ago. Any comments?
Yes, S.M.A.R.T. is a built-in diagnostic on the hard drive, and it is reporting a problem that may cause it to fail.
You can see the same status in Disk Utility, and possibly get more info. Run Disk Utility and select the DRIVE in the sidebar. Be sure to select the DRIVE and not the volume indented below it. At the bottom of the window, there is a field for S.M.A.R.T. Status. If there is no problem, it should say Verified.
You can also do a Get Info on the drive (File -> Get Info) in Disk Utility, and the Info window provides more detailed information (toward the bottom) about what is being checked. -

Try updating directly on the device, via iTunes on the computer, and iTunes on a different computer.
If the iPhone has been hacked or jailbroken, it may not be possible to update. -
Iphone 4 will not unlock but the same portion of the screen is active using SMS or any other feature. What is the issue?
It won't recognise it at all, but luckily I backed up very recently.
I've booked an appointment with an Apple store who promise a working iPhone within 10 minutes of your appointment, whether fixed or a brand new iPhone.

Why do I always have to re-render and re-connect project?!?
Hoping someone can help me with what I imagine is a pretty basic issue...
Whenever I open my ProRes 422 HQ project, I always see two problems:
(1) I get a warning that 160 audio files need to be reconnected
(2) About 20% of my timeline requires rendering for video and audio
Neither of the above is a problem in and of itself. I simply reconnect the audio files and render out the unrendered timeline sections.
I then SAVE my project and work normally. And of course I SAVE again just before I quit for the day (in addition to frequent auto-saves).
But the next day, when I boot up my Mac and re-open the project, I still see the above two issues! I then have to reconnect media AGAIN and render the same sections AGAIN! Never fails.
How come these changes never get saved? What can I do to ensure that these items get saved? The reconnecting media is not a big deal but the re-rendering takes an hour.
Any input appreciated.Could be a system/os problem or might be a corrupt sequence or project in fcp.
Simplest thing to do, create a new sequence with the same settings and copy everything from the old sequence to the new.
Still have the same problem? Try copying your sequence to a new project.
As a test, you might try changing your render scratch disk to your startup drive as a test and see if the problem persists.
Make sure your esata card's drivers are up to date.
Are you absolutely positive all clip settings match the sequence settings? Could be a slight difference in audio sampling or someting of the like causing the need to render certain clips. Is it the same clips that always require rendering. Put the playhead on a clip in the sequence that requires rendering and match frame (f) and edit into a new sequence. When fcp asks if you want to match sequence settings to clip, say yes. Does it require rendering? If not, there must be some difference between the clip settings and the original sequence settings. -
I am using Adobe XI Pro and in various parts of the document there is brown / biege lettering when on the document it shows as black. My printer guy has been in and checked it out top to bottom and that part is fine. I have tried to print the same document and it comes out fine. Any ideas ? Using Windows 7 Service Pack 1

If both accounts are authorised on your computer's iTunes (Store > Authorise This Computer) then you can download the books from both accounts to there (download the books from one account, then sign out of it via Store > Sign Out, log in with the other account via Store > Sign In and download the books from the other account), and sync them over to the iPad's iBooks app via the Books tab.
Or you might be able to sign out of your account on the iPad by tapping on it Settings > Store and sign in with the other account and download the books from that account - I think that it should work, but it's not something that I've tried so I'm not 100% sure that it will -
is there any way to find out which device dowloaded apps when you have multiple devices using the same itunes account?
The purchase information does not include the device used, but does include the Apple ID used for the purchase.
Apps downloaded on one device with the same Apple ID can be downloaded on another device with that Apple ID. -
I am new to iTunes and am wondering if I can share iTunes with my family or do we just have to all purchase the same songs multiple times since our devices have different apple ID's. My iPhone was set up last year to one iTunes ID and I just got an iPad but it has a different apple ID. So I can't even share with myself! It seems stupid to have my husband and I both purchasing the same music.
There are two ways to share your content. The simplest is just to use homesharing. Simply set up homesharing on each device from the iTunes advanced menu (you need to use the same details on each computer), providing the computers are on the same network they should see each other and can be found in the list on the left hand side of the iTunes window.
The second way is to transfer the content to another computer, play it and authorise it to play content from that account by entering the original account password when prompted (this only needs doing once for each account, not for each tune) -

iTunes Match is not sharable across Apple IDs. The best way to get the music on her iPad is to leave hers signed into her Apple ID on the iTunes Store and sync via USB.

I have multiple devices with the same cerificate, once I have an exception for one, FF denys access to the others. I cannot change the certificates, I need to stop FF blocking them.

Some users create another Apple ID just to use for FaceTime and Messages, but I have 4 devices using both apps and I use one Apple ID on all four. I added another email address on the other devices as the contact at email address and kept the Apple ID email address on my iPad as the contact at email address.
Settings>FaceTime>You can be reached for FaceTime at>Add another email address. Add the email address, Apple will verify it. Go to the InBox of that email account, read the email from Apple, follow the instructions to complete the verification. Go back to Settings>FaceTime and uncheck the Apple email address and check the address that you just added. You can also tap on the blue arrow next to the Apple ID email address and remove it in the next window if you like.
Do the same thing in Messages and ...obviously you need another working email address. You can use your wife's own email address on her iPad as the contact at address. -

Create multiple Windows User Profile with each managing his own iTunes account and library.
To create a user account on Windows 7:
To open User Accounts, click the Start button , click Control Panel, under 'User Accounts and Family Safety', select Add or Remove User Accounts.
Click Create a new account.
Type the name you want to give the user account, click an account type(make sure to give Administrator), and then click Create Account. -

If you sign out of an Apple ID under Settings > iCloud, you should be prompted for an option to 'Keep on my iPhone' in regards to Contacts and other related data. Then, when signing in with another Apple ID on that same iPhone, you should be prompted to 'Merge'. If you do both, then you won't lose any Contacts, and the iCloud Contacts will then be merged into the new Apple ID iCloud, but also will stay on the old Apple ID iCloud.
In the future, it might be best to post your own question thread instead of bumping a thread that is over two years old.
