Have to reset my Ipod daily

I have a 30g Ipod, about 1 month old. I almost always have reset it after it been turn off for a little while. It always comes back to life, but it's a little annoying. I've run the updater.Any suggestions?

I have to reset it because it won't turn on by normal means. Its fully charged and updated. I turn it off by holding the play/pause button for a few seconds until the screen go blank. Then I slide the hold button to hold. When I try to turn it back on few hours later, nothing. So I end up reseting it to bring it back to life. Other than that it works fine. Don't know if its a hardware or software problem. By the way the internal clock isn't losing time, so I don't think its a power problem.

Safari and YouTube disappear in my iPod when I up date iOS 6, do I have to reset my iPod?

Youtube was removed by Apple in iOS 6. Safari should not be removed. Try restoring your iPod in iTunes. You should then get Safari back. Also, there is a Youtube app in the App Store. It's in the free section of the Top 25.

  • Hi i have just reset my ipod and it will not my home  wi-fi hot spot

hi i have just reset my ipod and it will not my home  wi-fi hot spot can u help ASAP

    Try:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset Network Settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    Could this be the problem?
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
It is unclear from your description what happens when you try to connect.

  • I have to reset Apple TV daily at least.

I have a 6-month old Apple TV that's recently updated.  When I try to watch Netflix or Trailers, it simply says "accessing..." forever.  I have to reset it, then it's fine for a while.  If I go more than an hour or so between using it, I have to reset it again.  I tried resetting my Belkin wireless-N router, which didn't solve it.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

I had another freeze up after Apple's change. It took a little longer, but it happened. I made an additional change on my own after that. I noticed that Comcast's setting within the router (for the mode) was "Up to 150 Mbps g/n only". I don't know if it will make a permanent long-term solution or not, but I changed this to "Up to 150 Mbps b/g/n mixed mode". I had the Apple TV running for four hours plus yesterday afternoon with no freezes after this. I'll run it again all afternoon today to see what happens and keep you posted. There has got to be a simple solution to this besides Apples suggestion of buying their router at a cost of $100 to $179 (which I refuse to do - this thing was working just a week ago as it should!).

  • After updating two of my Ipod touch's to 5.1.1 both cameras refused to work, although after a few days one began to work the other one still refuses to open the shutter. I have tried resetting the Ipod, restoring and so forth. Does anyone know how to fix?

I have tried restarting it, drainging the battery, resetting it to factory settings, restting the general settings and every possbile thing. The reason I need this Ipod to work is because although the first iPods camera does work, the screen is no longer responsive in the middle. HELP.

If you restored to factory setting/new iPod and still have the problem time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • HT201210 I started an update on my daughter's Ipod.  An error occured.  Now it's saying I have to reset the Ipod back to factory status.  If I do this, her pictures will be lost, correct??

I started an update on my daughter's Ipod.  An error occured.  Now when connected to the computer, it states that I need to do a factory reset on it.  She has pictures on there that we are afraid we will lose if we do this.  When we turn on the Ipod all we get is a picture of the USB end of a charger with an arrow pointing to the iTunes logo (music note in a circle).  Anyway to unfreeze it, without losing all the pictures??

You need to restore the iPod. I is erased now.
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If no backup you may be able to get them from the restored iPod

  • Why do I have to regularly reset my iPod?

I recently upgraded to the 5th gen. 30GB iPod with video. I am noticing that I have to reset my iPod quite regularly, sometimes daily. I happens at the beginning of the day when I go to turn it on after it has been off all night. Is this normal? Is it a sign of something possibly being wrong with it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry but I don't have much
experience with that one. I had it happen once with
my year+ old 30GB iPod and never with my (since
February) 80GB. The one I get a lot on the 80GB is
the semi lockup where everything on the iPod works
except actually playing music. Screen shows playing
but the song doesn't actually advance. I have had to
reset a lot for that one, but not for your
    condition.
By the way, when you turn it on in the morning, how
are you doing it? Normally, at least in my case, I
switch the hold slide to OFF then hit the menu button
to wake up the iPod which normally starts up with the
Apple logo. Are you doing that or something different
    or expect different results?
    Patrick
Normally, I would just hold down the play/pause button and it would turn on (that's how it worked with my 20g 4th gen that I have) even if it was off all night. With my 30g 5th gen, I have to hold the center button and menu button to get the Apple logo to appear and wait maybe 30 seconds for the menu to appear. I haven't tried the lock button and menu button as you described, but I will next time and see if that works. Thanks.

  • TS2771 my ipod touch is frozen with the apple logo on the screen, won't turn off, have already reset it and it still sits the same...logo on screen.  Can anyone help me out?

My IPOD TOUCH is frozen with the Apple logo sitting there on the screen.  I have already reset the ipod because it was freezing up so I reset it, but now it won't shut off or got o main screen it just sits with the logo on it.  I can't turn it off.  The screen will also flash as though it will turn off then goes back to the logo screen.  Does anyone know what the heck is going on with my IPOD?  It's reall frustrating me...ALOT!!!

    - Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try again
    - If still not successful, time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My ipod keeps getting corrupted and I have to reset it

My ipod keeps getting corrupted, and I have to keep resetting it. I have owned four ipods. Yes that's right. Four. I have been returning them but every single one does this. It is the same every time. I press the middle button when "Music" is selected, and the device completely shuts off when I do this and goes to the Apple icon. If I press play, then it will play songs, but only at random, and I cannot access my playlists. I have to reset the ipod to fix this problem. What's going on with this?
    ipod Nano   Windows XP

Im not sure EXACTLY what would cause this, but if you have had 4 nanos do the exact thing, its either a issue with the nanos being sold at the place your getting them at, like the local store in your area, or its a issue with your PC. I know some people report a issue with a certain malware program that sneaks on there system and causes havoc with the iPod service and in turn causes weird things with there pod.
The iPOd Service is a program that runs in the background of windows and, in basic terms, acts like the "Middle guy" translating things from the PC to the pod.
Scan your system for any viruses with a antivirus program and scan for malware with Ewido http://www.ewido.net/en/download Then download install and run the latest iPod updater on your nano here http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/

  • TS1363 I have a 5th Gen Ipod Classic which has just stopped being seen by iTunes.  I have reloaded itunes and rest my iPod but still nothing.  Any advice?

I have 5th gen iPod classic and although it is recognised by my windows vista software within the "computer" tab. iTunes does not see it.  I have totally reset my iPod and reloaded the iTunes software on my PC (which actually sorted my issues with mt 32gb touch) but to no avail.
Any assistance would be grately appreciated?
    N

Nothing has changed frlom when it worked on Saturday to it not working on Sunday!  The iPod does not appear in iTunes on either my laptop or my PC.  The iPod appears to be fully functional, the wheel works and the date/time etc is all correct.  However, it is empty of all music and videos.  It was almost full (give or take 10 gb)
The display on the iPod says connected!  Is there a setting on it which changes it from an iPod to a disc drive?  Other than that, I can see what's wrong.
Everything is working perfectly apart from it's deleted all my stuff and the PC only sees it as an external hard drive?
As I said, my touch is fine

  • Have to reset synching each time

I have my ipod set to synch all playlists and songs. From time to time I plug it into other computers to get podcasts only. When I plug back into my main mac, I have to reset the synch all songs and playlists. In the interim, some songs are no longer playable. I have ipod 1.1.1 and itunes 6.0.4 and have tried resetting the ipod. TIA

    John,
Are podcasts set to update manually? Connect the iPod to the computer. When it appears in iTunes, go to edit-->preferences. Click the iPod tab, then the podcasts tab under that. Set it to manually manage podcasts. Click OK.
Also, is this what you are doing?

  • My ipod touchs location services has stopped working. I just installed a new modem to my pc could that be the problem and how to fix ? ive already reset the ipod to new status and no help. thank for any help

my ipod touch has lost location services after i installed a new modem to my pc . it is turned on in the settings and i have even reset the ipod to new status. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Nothing you can do except wait until Apple adds the router to their database of routers and their location. If you or someone nearby does not have an iPhone it can take a while. There is no way to tell Apple to add a router to their database.
