Have to restore factory settings, how will i get my apps back?

I have to restore my ipod to factory settings but dont konw how i will retrieve applications that i bought directly from the app store on my ipod.
For instance, i payed $10 for monopoly and since i downloaded it directly to my touch instead of onto my computer i dont know how to put it back on after restoring my ipod.
does anyone know what i should do?

You should be able to copy it from your iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, or you should be able to re-download it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes Store home page - if that says that it's already downloaded, then that implies that it's already on your computer

I was using my ipod not only for iTunes purchases, but also Amazon music. The current Amazon music app isn't compatible and it doesn't offer the old one. I've been having this problem too, but here's the catch: originally it was only with my dad, and only sometimes. Now it's dad and husband, every time! Pix go through, via imessage, to everyone else, and they go through to dad/husband if I "send as text" after it fails.
And the other annoying thing- the blue bar will run all the way, and it will say "delivered". So I close out of imessage. When I reopen it again, the "delivered" has changed to "not delivered" with the red exclamation point. I just googled "imessage not sending photos" and founds TONS of people with the same problem, but no solutions. (I have rebooted phone, reset network settings, with no luck. If the apps are not on your computer's iTunes (did you do File > Transfer Purchases prior to starting the update ?), then you could try downloading them to your computer (re-downloading) and then restoring to your backup and see if that restores them and their settings/content - a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings, so for the restore to work fully iTunes needs access to the apps so that it can restore them.

If the music was purchased from iTunes and if you are in a country where music can be redownloaded and it's still available in the store, then you should be able to redownload it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your device, or turn on Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under the 'Show All' heading) 'on' on the device and it should then show in the Music app with a cloud icon against them for redownloading

Your apps will only be where you put them. if you failed to put them on your computer beore updating, then they would certainly be gone.

Earl, welcome to the forum.
It sounds like the resolution changes when you start the game. You should check the video settings. I checked the Mahjong game (Win 8.1) on my computer and there is no way to set the resolution in the Options.

I downloaded 4.0.1 and lost all my Yahoo toolbar apps but still have the Yahoo search bar. How can I get the apps back? Refreshing the "gear" does nothing.

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

Do you have an Restrictions set that would hide the apps? Settings>General>Restrictions
Have you used the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find them.

I called AT&T, who had me download itunes on my work computer (can't get up the stairs to home computer after knee surgery, specifically asked if this would damage anything on my phone and was told no. after downloading latest itunes and connecting to this computer, all my apps, photos, contacts, everything is gone. Is there anything I can do to get that stuff back? Kids' 8th bday phontos on there...

Not sure what happened but whatever happened was a major problem if the only option was connecting your iPhone to iTunes which requires restoring your iPhone with iTunes.

AT&T handles problems with their network, which the problem with your iPhone had nothing to do with. It would have been better to call AppleCare for this instead.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced or manually managed with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred to an iPhone from a single computer only.
When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first with a warning message provided indicating this will occur - the first warning message provided is your iPhone has been synced with an iTunes library on a different computer.
An exception to the warning message provided would be if restoring an iPhone with iTunes is required, which apparently was the case in your situation. Restoring an iPhone with iTunes completely erases the iPhone first followed by the firmware being re-installed. If this is done with the computer you normally sync your iPhone with, you have the option to restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup which must be followed by a sync to re-transfer your selected iTunes content and any photos from your computer to your iPhone. None of this data is available with the computer used to restore your iPhone.

Hold the home and power button down until your phone restarts. If that doesn't work, backup and restore using iTunes.
