Have to set my Router 2.0 to factory settings to w...

My router works very well on my desktop running XP and has done for several months. However I regularly have to reste the router to factory settings so that the Aspire notebook, running Linux, will connect to the network. I make no other changes to the router configuration, and I am not aware that I have changed anything ever, except enabling power saving. Any ideas please?

have you made sure that the wifi driver in your netbook is up to date?  using your pc download inssider2 from metgeek and run it.  It will show the networks round about you including your own and also the channels others are using.  if you are on a popular channel then change to another channel or at least one that is less congested.
you could also chnage from b/g/n to just b/g in the hub which may help

Nothing.  The message means you MUST restore your phone to factory settings.  There's no way around this .  Your phone is in recovery mode.  That's the only way to get it out.

  • Hi,we have had to reset our pc to its factory settings and i can no longer sync my ipod when i purchase a song.

    Hi,
we have had to reset our pc to its factory setting and i can no longer sync my ipod when i buy a song? can anyone help? cheers.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately this has not worked. I didn't have quicktime to begin with so I don't know if that makes a difference? After following the instructions, I get the "registry keys missing" problem appear again (which I've subsequently fixed again) and then when I connected the ipod I got the following message - 'Device driver software was not successfully installed'.
I've tried windows update but this doesn't do anything as '...the service is not running'.
    Any suggestions?

  • Im trying to set my ipad back to its factory settings and in doing so Itunes seems to be unable to activate it. It says "We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time" which makes no complete sense to me. Any thoughts?

I recently got this Ipad2 in hopes for a working device. I had originally stated it up by syncing it on my sisters pc but by doing so the app store on the Ipad automatically gave me her husbands Apple ID instead of my own. I'm well aware that by syncing with her Itunes library something like this may have come as a result of it. So, I took it home and tried reseting it to its factory settings so that I was able to put up my own Apple ID and download some fun and helpful apps. I connected it to my notebook and had Itunes reset it which made it download something that took more than half an hour to do. It had told me that once it was done downloading this it would automaticlly set the Ipad back to its original state. It did no such thing. Now im trying to start the thing up and Itunes keeps telling me its unable to do so at this time. If you have had a similar situation and know of a possible solution please respond to my question. Much appreciated.

  • I was asked to update my iphone but then got an error message (6) saying I had to go to itunes which says I have to restore my iphone and default to factory settings. All that I am getting on the screen is a sign to plug in to itunes. I am VERY unhappy

It was working fine until I tried to update the software as requested. Help! I do not want to go to factory settings and lose everything. Can I uninstall the update somehow? Please respond asap

If the screen shows a plug going to itunes, then you have no choice,  It's in recovery mode.  You'll be given the chance to restore from a backup either from itunes or icloud.
I assume when you got the message to update (was this for the ios or update some apps?), that was before the device when dead.  At any rate, doing a restore does not change the ios.

  • Set iMac (late 2012) back to factory settings?

Hi! How do i set my late 2012 iMac back to factory settings?

    1. Press Command and R keys while your Mac is starting and open Disk Utility.
    2. Select Macintosh HD in the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the partition.
    3. Close Disk Utility and reinstall OS X

  • After closing Firefox with the red "x" in the upper right corner, every time I start firefox again it launches the last page(s) I was (yes I have it set to go to homepage in my settings, this does not happen if I close through the menu).

    I have a Win 7 PC using FF 4.0.1.

I have noticed something similar with my Macs. If I close with the red X, I get a popup message asking if I want to close the tabs or cancel. If I close with Firefox > Quit or Cmd-Q, I get a message asking if I want to Save and Quit, Quit, or Cancel. The thing is, using the red X, is just supposed to close the interface, not the underlying process.

  • I have a restriction passcode that I have no idea what the passcode could be. I know that I need to reset the phone to factory settings but how do go about doing this without losing all of my contacts and other info, etc? (mainly contacts)

At some point, I don't even remember doing this it must have been so long ago, I set a restrictions passcode on my phone. This has become a problem now because I have so many apps that I do not ever use that take up so much space I can no longer take pictures or put more music on the device. I have read that I need to restore to factory settings but that once I do that I cannot restore to a backup because restrictions passcodes are saved in backups. Is there any way for me to restore my phone to factory settings and then get all of my contacts and perhaps as much other data back as I can? I have tried every passcode I can think of for the restrictions passcode (24 times! to the point that ever time I try and fail I cannot try again for an hour. To say the least, this is quite frustrating as is limits what i can do with my phone on a daily basis, whether it be music or taking pictures and videos etc. Can someone please help me solve this problem without losing minimal data? I have already backed the phone up to my computer as well as iCloud. Even the woman at the apple store told me I had to restore it to factory but was too busy to get further into it and I didn't have a genius bar appointment. If all else fails I can make an appointment and go in there. I just thought I may as well ask on here first to see if there was a way I could do it myself. Thanks for reading and hope you can help me!
    -Mike

You can't. Restoring new means everything is erased. If you have a backup made before creating a restriction code, then you can restore that backup, but none later.
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • How do I set an a powerbook G4 back to factory settings

I wan to set a powerbook G4 back to factory settings and I do not have a disk or any software for the laptop. How do I do this?

You can't without disks. The is no downloadable version of the software that came with that Mac so you must have disks. A Tiger 10.4 full retail install disk set would get you going but they are still in demand and may cost as much as the computer is worth.
For computers not quite so old, you can phone Apple, give them your model and serial number and they can check to see if they have original install/restore disks like the ones that would have shipped with the computer. Its a long shot on a ten-year old model.

  • I have had to reset my iPad to factory settings and lost iTunes

Question: how can I retrieve my iTunes, mad configure across all 3 pieces of kit.
I have had to reset my iPad 2 to factory settings, and in so doing lost iTunes and photos.
This has been a very long term issue with my Icloud account. It's never worked on my mac notebook, iPad nor recently purchased iPhone 4.
This issue has been compounded by bad advice from Apple Helpine who is insisted I recreate an Apple ID using a gmail account.
A meeting at a Genius Bar discredited this advice and promised to send me an email explaining how to get, retrieve my mac e address, that email did not arrive.
In desperation I have had to reset my iPad, reset my ID and at least iCloud is now working for the first time.
However I suspect the iTunes is now attached to the gmail account, which I do not wish to receive.

    Typos mad = and
    Receive = retrieve
