have tried several times to clear my browsing history and every time I do firefox freezes and stops responding, then I have to "force quit" from the main menu

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

I have been trying to download apps from the app store and every time it tells me there is a problem with my previous billing and direct me to put in new billing information and every time i do that it still will not let me download any apps.

I have tried several ways to transfer my itunes library and Playlists to a new computer. I get the music library but not the playlists. Can you advise?
2nd > I purchased 21 new tunes yesterday on the new computer> worked great> but when I made a disc to transfer the playlist. I get the music but no album info just 1,2,3,etc. So I have signup both computers to share thinking that would work. But no to that also.
Please advise.

I keep trying to burn a CD-R in Iphoto, and every time iPhoto stops burning halfway through and i get this error message, "Attemp to burn a disc failed. Burn failed due to a medium write error." I am using memorex CD-R's and have tried with 4 times with different CD's. Is this a software or hardware problem? Any info would be awesome
Export the photos to a desktop folder, right click on the folder and burn to disk - see if that is any different

My browsers (safari and Chrome) continue to open an old version of a website - even though I've cleared my browser history and cache. It's essential I see the newly launched site - rather than the old ones. It's strange it's happening in both browsers.
Please help!You, or someone using your computer, hacked the system to redirect certain URL's. The file modified is /etc/hosts.
The easiest way to fix the hosts file is to restore it from a backup that predates the modification, or to copy the unmodified file from another Mac. If you can't do that, then do as below. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data. This is a simple procedure, but if you don't follow the instructions exactly, you could be left with an unbootable system. In that case, you'll have to restore from a backup or reinstall OS X.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
open -a TextEdit /etc/hosts
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). A TextEdit window should open. At the top of the window, you should see this:

Below that, you'll see some other lines. There should be nothing above the first line "##". If you have any doubt about that, STOP and ask for guidance. Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the document. Scroll bars are hidden by default until you actually start scrolling, so you may not realize that you’re not seeing the whole document.
If the contents of the TextEdit window are as described, close it, then enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (by copy and paste):
sudo sed -i~ '11,$d' /etc/hosts
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Confirm. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Quit Terminal.
That will fix the hosts file. There is now a copy of the old hosts file with the name "hosts~" in the same folder as "hosts". You can delete the copy if you wish. Don't delete the file named "hosts". -
Always facing the "Not Responding" issue while launching the internet explorer 11. I have tried reset in advanced, deleting all cookies, history and all. Also I did change the default site to https://www.google.com. But no result.

I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. Loosing patience :
I've tried for 2months to switch over to my new 4s, but every time I enter my apple ID to retrieve backup from icloud. I'm informed no back up available.
Given tried for 2months, I'm tempted to bin it and get an alternative phone.As you backup the iPhone in iTunes, it overwrites the last backup. Files are kept as they are changed, so that would explain how you get different dates in your backup folder. The only backups that are saved and not overwritten are the ones done just prior to a restore. You do have the option to go back in time on a Windows computer, however depending on the last time you set a restore point in Windows, it could be back further than you are willing to go.

Need to disable the clearing of browsing history and what is the "about:config" function for it?
I am working on an Group Policy Administrative template for Wetdog.exe, and it's awesome by the way. Just want to know what function to use (listed in "about:config" url) so i can turn this feature off entirely.
I don't want my users deleting browsing history, or have any ability to view it either.
Still, i want the browser to keep at least 30 days of history.
This is EASILY accomplished in Internet Explorer via GPO, but not so much in Mozilla with wetdog.exe and it's admin templates. I am using Windows Server 2003 enterprise edition R2 on 2 domain controllers, and Windows XP Professional SP3 client workstations with Mozilla 3.6.3 and the latest version of Wetdog.exe and it's admin templates.
Any help would be much appreciated!!!

just need to disable the "history" button, the "tools\clear recent history" button, and "tools\options\privacy tab\history"It can be annoying, but I think their motivation is good. They are trying to make things better for their customers and I think they have, even though sometimes it is annoying. I think it would be nice if they would advise us when the pages are going to be down for maintenance, In the mean time, you could have another E mail account so you can always get access to your E mail.

I want to clear my browsing history but can't access the Firefox window.
My Firefox was set up by an IT guy to take me directly to ATT/Yahoo email. I can't clear history nor access a Firefox Screen to set that up, as per the tutorial.
How do I do that in my setup? Everything I try takes me to Att/Yahoo.I have a new Dell I 7 laptop running Windows 8. As I said, Firefox was set up to take me straight to ATT/Yahoo email and I can't clear history when browsing or access a Firefox window to follow the tutorial.

This is bit of a Nightmare situation - and there can be a zillion reasons for why it goes wrong. See if You might find help in my list.
When iMovie doesn't work as intended this can be due to a lot of reasons
• iMovie Pref files got corrupted - trash it/they and iMovie makes new and error free one's
• Creating a new User-Account and log into this - forces iMovie to create all pref. files new and error free
• Event or Project got corrupted - try to make a copy and repair
• a codec is used that doesn't work
• problem in iMovie Cache folder - trash Cache.mov and Cache.plist
• version miss match of QuickTime Player / iMovie / iDVD
• preferences are wrong - Repair Preferences
• other hard disk problem - Repair Hard Disk (Disk Util tool - but start Mac from ext HD or DVD)
• External hard disks - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work with Video
( UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things - but not for Video )
• USB-flash-memories do not work
• Net-work connected hard disks - do not work
• iPhoto Library got problems - let iPhoto select another one or repair it. Re-build this first then try to re-start iMovie.

_ on start up of iPhoto - Keep {cmd and alt-keys down}
_ now select all five options presented
_ WAIT a long long time
• free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk to low (<1Gb) - I never go under 25Gb free space for SD-Video (4-5 times more for HD)
• external devices interferes - turn off Mac - disconnect all of them and - Start up again and re-try
• GarageBand fix - start GB - play a few notes - Close it again and now try iMovie
• Screen must be set to million-colors
• Third-party plug-ins doesn't work OK
• Run "Cache Out X", clear out all caches and restarts the Mac
• Let Your Mac be turned on during one night. At about midnight there is a set of maintenance programs that runs and tidying up. This might help
• Turn off Your Mac - and disconnect Mains - for about 20-30 minutes - at least this resets the FireWire port.
• In QuickTime - DivX, 3ivx codec, Flip4Mac, Perian etc - might be problematic - temporarily move them out and re-try
(I deleted the file "3ivxVideoCodec.component" located in Mac HD/Library/Quicktime and this resolved my issue.)

I've reviewed the options settings a number of times and no change. Any suggestions would help.
You can check the settings for clearing the history when Firefox closes if you use that feature.
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" > [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords. -
Issues updating my apps I've had for the past 2 years.
If your account is disabled then you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
