Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?

I have installed the cars 2 app mate on a ipad 2 from an ipad 1 synced with itunes account.. all is working except this app. After many times of un installing and re installing aswell as talking to apple tech suport this app is still not working.... its there it just has no function...... how can i get this installed and working, my grandson is autistic and uses this app many hours a day........ it is important for me to get this up and running again for him.......
(1) So, I found a youtube video showing how to open up my iMac and replace a Disk drive. I opened it. I removed the disk drive. I opened the metal cover of the lid of the disk drive. It was clean and immaculate; so, it destroyed and debunked the dirty drive theory. But, just to make sure I sucked around the optical sensor with a vacuum and gently brushed it with a Q-tip.
(2) I then watched a you tube video showing how the drive operated (it was a drive supplied with power outside an iMac with a transparent cover unlike the opaque metal cover that we have on our drives). My scientific curiosity started to wonder if somehow the mechanical part (of the electro-mechanical assembly) was locked or jammed. So, I started messing with the arms with the utmost care after watching the video to see if i could move them manually. Yes on some. The main arm that is linked with the drive motor was immovable. The rest I played with a little bit, took great notice in the start of the video to see how the arms looked before inserting a disk. I then put it all back together.
It works now. My guess is that taking it out and then placing it back in along with the resetting options that others have done was the trick. I believe it is a possibility that the hard drive became locked mechanically in some strange manner after ejecting a DVD in conjunction with the uploading of the new OS. I believe the actual removal, reinstallation, and resetting of the drive put everything back into sync. My computer sits in a climate controlled dust free environment. I knew for a fact that this hard drive was OKAY. -
I cannot open emails in my university's Outlook Web App. I cannot re-open Firefox after I exit because it doesn't really close down (parts still in Task Manager which I have to end before firefox reopens.). Hi! I've got CS3 Design Standard - the actual disks and Software License certificate. It was installed on my laptop which crashed and could therefore not be uninstalled. I have now installed it on my new MacBook Pro, but cannot get it registered with the serial number. Is it because it wasn't uninstalled on the previous laptop? What to do now?? Thx!
Maybe this can help someone else... I simply had to properly uninstall CS3 and reinstall it again after that. I think that sorted it! I also remember having a similar issue with Macs at work a couple of years back. Not sure whether the same applies to CS5/CS6. I cant get my ipad 2 out of recovery. The apple icon stays on and nothing happens. I tried restoring it through Itunes but it comes up with a 3194 error code. I have the latest Itunes being 10.6.1.7 and the latest windows update.Can someone please help?
Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -
Using windows 8 - receive message "ipod detected but cannot be identified properly" when connecting ipod nano 7th gen. Have unisntalled and reinstalled itunes from apple site as advised with no luck. Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it please?

I have purchased the ios 3.1 update for my 1st generation iPod Touch, but cannot get it to download. When I check the summary on iTunes, it says that I have the most up-to-date version of 2.1. I use mainly Chrome but also tried IE8 just in case - no difference. However I finally remembered that when I had a similar problem downloading/installing OS4 for my iPhone (which crashed it and caused total lockup for about 4 days, resolved only after hours of calls to iPhone helpdesk) it turned out that the problem was caused by my home wi-fi connection. When I hard-wired the network connection the problem was solved. I tried it with iTunes - and it installed first time.
Don't know what would cause this problem, which as far as I can see affects only Apple software. Everything else seems to download and install over the wi-fi without glitches.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them: -
Hello. I am receiving "error codes" when trying to dowload songs. It charges me but the songs never download and I have restarted itunes and it does not automatically start downloading as instructed online. Help?
I don't know exactly what they said b/c they are nolonger on my screen. It said something to the effect of "incomplete dowload, there was an eror during the dowload of *Song*".
The songs purchased were showing in my purchased list with an "exclamation point" by them, which I believe indicates the download was incomplete. I restarted iTunes and the songs are no longer on my "Purchased list".
