Have windows 7, ITunes keeps freezing and I think disrupting other programmes
ITunes progreamme keeps freezing, I think this is causing other programmes to run slowly. I think the problem is user specific as I have set a new user and the problem does not seem to persist.

I recently moved all my music from my iMac over to an external HD as my computer was full. Everything in iTunes was working fine and the music and videos and everything is back on iTunes and playing from my external HD.
Problem is, now every time I open iTunes after about 25 minutes I get the spinning wheel and I have to go and "Force Quit" then I cant open it again and i have to reboot my iMac so I can get my iTunes open again...
I have tried downloading iTunes again to see if maybe installing it over the top of the current version might overwrite or fix the problem as read that it worked for someone else in another thread.
Any feedback, advice or support here people??

Why does my itunes keep freezing and give me the rainbow wheel of death?
Whenever I am doing stuff on my computer it will randomly freeze up and I am almost positive it only happens when iTunes is open and playing. I have a lot of free space on my hardrive even though I have around 6000 songs and a bunch of movies on there. I just downloaded a bunch of games form the app store too that could be taking up space. Please let me know if you can help!
what model year make computer do you have what os are you on how much ram do you have?
go to launchpad (yeah I said it) utilities> system information.
on the left hand side, hardware should be highlight and you will have all the information you need to give us.
Feel free to exclude your serial number. you can do so in preview. But it doesn't really matter, and it would be nice to have a reference of it somewhere should it ever get stolen. it your choice. -
I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) and previously when using iTunes (running latest software) all has been ok. Over the last few days I have noticed that Itunes keeps 'freezing' . when I click on the icon, iTunes opens, then tries to connecyt to the Store. The progression bar stops at half way and the whole programme freezes. I hav etries deleting and re installing, but still the same problem. Please help!

Used Task Manager to see if syncserver.exe was running on my other account but could not find it...
Nothing works ......... but I can replicate the problem each time I select Preferences.
I have just openned up 2 User accounts on the computer and from what I have read it seems that the problem is restricted to computers with more than one User Account.
Why oh why do Apple make it such hard work to run 2 of it's purchased devices off one computer, if they could only work on a way to sort this problem out we wouldn't need to go around the houses to try to find fixes. -

My iTunes keeps freezing when I try to switch from the Summary page to the Podcasts page to try and manage which podcasts I sync to my iPod. It doesn't freeze when I manage anything else, only podcasts. I have the latest version if iTunes. I can't figure out why this is happening.

That's consistent with an application (other than QuickTime itself) having dropped old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.) -
It seems that iTunes doesn't want to work. I've reinstalled, ugraded and restarted my computer. But nothing seems to work iTunes keeps freezing. Now it's just a useless app on my computer. It controls all the music and it's taken many hours to be bothered to use it, now that I depend on it it doesn't work. Is there another more reliable program that organizes and transfers music to iPods? Or am I just stuck with the music thats on my iTunes?
I'm not really impressed and that my family has many apple products that are mainly run by this one piece of software is mind bogglling.
Are there older versions of iTunes to use? because before this last update I had no issues.If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

Satellite C660 11K - Keeps freezing and unable to access Windows
Recently bought Satellite C660 11K and loaded a game on to it, within a couple of hours it froze (ctrl alt delete wouldn't work) I shut it down and started it back up and got a message saying some software or hardware was stopping Windows from working.
I restored it to factory settings with the recovery disk. However I have not loaded any games or other software since, but it keeps freezing and I've had to use the recovery disk 3 times!
I don't know what else to try!Once I've used the recovery disk it's fine for a couple of days. I've been using the internet when it freezes and won't respond to anything. When I turn it back on the error message I get is ' Windows failed to start, a recent hardware or software change might be the cause' it then gives the option of using recovery mode. It sounds like your Mac is becoming unresponsive for no apparent reason. I recommend starting by resetting your computers SMC:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.

Then perform a Safe Boot, and then restart the computer again and retest the issue:

To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), follow these steps.
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key.

Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
After the logo appears, you should see a progress bar during startup. This indicates that your computer is performing a directory check as part of Safe Mode.
To leave Safe Mode, restart your computer without holding any keys during startup.
