Have Yosemite. App Store only showing Mavericks update

Hello!
I've been on Yosemite since it launched publicly, but the App Store has only ever shown updates for Mavericks and have never seen the 10.10.1 update show up.
When I click 'UPDATE' on the 10.9.5 update, nothing happens.
The About screen isn't bugged either, as I do have all the new features of Yosemite and use them regularly.
Any idea what's going on here?
Thanks!

Hmmm, never mind, the problem has mysteriously fixed itself thankfully :-)

  • Safari / App Store crashing after mavericks update

Weird stuff after Mavericks update.  Internet connection is fine, Chrome works perfect.
Safari attempts to open webpage, but shows 6-9 white boxes surrounded by green border in the upper left hand corner of the page.  The webpage will show up, then safari crashes.  If I disable Javascript, then smaller boxes show up, but safari is usable.
App Store will also open, but shows nothing.
Disk Utility has a bunch of Open Error 1 and Open Error 5
    Any suggestions?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • App Store Issues After Mavericks Update

Hi. I upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks yesterday.
When I run the App Store app, it shows that IMovie is available for an update. When I click the update button, I get a message saying my IMac (bought in late 2007) doesn't have the video card requirements for the new version of IMovie. The problem is that every time I run the App Store app, it still lists IMovie as an update. Is there a way to prevent it for continuing to list IMovie as an update?
I also own IWork '09. After I updgraded to Mavericks yesterday, I was able to download the new Pages, Numbers and Keynote for free. Apparently, the download also slightly updated the versions from IWork '09.  Today, I ran the App Store app again, and it redownloaded the updated '09 versions of Pages, Numbers and Keynote. I have no idea why it downloaded them all again. Is there any way to stop it from doing it again?
    Thanks.

I had this issue on 3 different macs when upgrading to Mavericks.
I resolved it by deleting the Compressor app and the "Compressor" and "Apple Qmaster" folders from Library\Application Support\, emptying the trash, rebooting the computer and reinstalling from the App Store.
Unfortunately this did delete all of my encoding presets and qmaster cluster/settings but the app is up and running again.
Also Get Info on the Compressor app after reinstalling and disable App Nap.
    Good luck!

  • Yosemite App Store error will not update large item

Had a problem I wish to share with the community which I was able to solve and it points to a particular error in this first release of Yosemite which may strike many other users.  I am on a DSL connection and it's unreliable.  Usually App Store is good about pausing or restarting downloads of large updates but on a couple of occasions, it refused to update a few items (Xcode and Pages come to mind) and this is what I found to be the problem...  LAUNCH PAD!
If App store refuses to install or download an update, for some reason there is a direct connection with this problem and launch Pad.  Go into Launch Pad and look for the item you are having trouble with.  Click its icon, double click its icon, or if those don't work, hold alt and click the X on the corner of the item's icon then if its deleted from your Mac, go back into App Store into the prior purchases area and redownload it again.
I hope this helps someone else.  I know figuring out the connection between Launch Pad and update issues took me forever to figure out.  This may save someone out there struggling a lot of time to know.

I would try with some basic troubleshooting....
    - restart your computer
    - verify that you are connected to the internet, by launching safari
    - if you are connected, quit all open applications, then only open the Mac Apps store
    - try to install just one software update
NOTE - when connecting wireless, you are going through a router.  The router may have some of the "ports" blocked that are required to get these updates, and therefore connecting to the internet direct wire, would be my next step in troubleshooting

  • App store wrongly shows 1 update needed.

My App store indicates I have one App to update ... (a little red circle with a 1 inside it) ... but the list of Udates shows everything is up to date. Ive re-booted and it makes no difference.
What should I do? (this is for iOS 8.2 )
    Thanks

Wait it out. That's what I do when it happens to me - and it does happen to me from time to time. Eventually it will be corrected. If you force closed the App Store app and reset or restarted the iPad, there really isn't anything else that you can do other than maybe restore the device and I think that would be a little bit of overkill for this little annoyance.
IF you didn't force close the App Store, you can try that, but I don't think its going to make a difference. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.

  • I deleted an app downloaded from the Mac App Store, Mac App Store is showing an update for deleted app.

I downloaded Blackmagic Speed Disk from the Mac App store last year.  Its not a pirated copy or anything.  I deleted the app cause I never used it.  After I deleted the app the Mac App Store shows an available update for the deleted app.  When I click update, it just re-downloads the app.   Cant figure out how to completly get rid of it.  I uninstalled the app and then used easy file finder to delete the app's files completely.  How do I get rid of the annoying Update??? Thanks

Hide the app from your Purchases list. Sign into your account (Store menu). Go to Purchases pane, right click on the app in question, Hide the app.

  • App Store constantly shows 1 update avail ...

but no update actually is. This happens when I quit App Store. When I reopen the App Store, the 1 update option disappears. What's going on?

Getting rid of that irksome red No1.   Two solutions I know of.
Completely remove the app with AppZapper or the like.  Then reinstall it. Reinstalling it will be free because you would have already paid for it.   The new install would then be the updated version.
And Dah*veed wrote this recently to offer the following solution.
You could try reindexing your HDD.   The MAS uses the Spotlight indexing in determining what apps need updating.   Go to Systems Preferences / Spotlight/ Privacy; add your Hdd to the list then remove it from the list.   Spotlight will then reindex your HDD.
    This has worked for me.

  • App Store not showing available update (for X-Code)

    Hello,
I regularly check if there are update's for the applications I've purchased and downloaded from the Mac App Store.
    So also yesterday.
Result: "all applications are up to date / no updates available".
    I have Apple's X-Code installed. Version 4.2.1.
As I browsed the App Store and clicked on X-Code, I saw that the current version was 4.3.3.
Anyone an idea why the App Store said all my applications where up to date where that wasn't the case?
Do I have to check each installed application manually to be sure I have the latest update?
MacBook Pro (early 2011 model) running Mac OS X 10.7.4
    Kind regards,
    emeu1

If you downloaded Xcode from the App Store the update should have been available but there is a work around for this.
Download this free utility to uninstall Xcode and all the associated files > Download AppCleaner for Mac
Then launch AppCleaner. Then drag the Xcode app from the Applications folder to the AppCleaner window. Delete all the associated files listed in that window.
Now go to the App Store and re download the app. That will install the latest 4.3.3 version.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original download.

  • HT2404 Although I have selected the recent OS X 10.8.3 update several times, waited for the installation to take place, then Restarted at the prompt the App Store still shows the update to be outstanding. How can I tell if the update has completed?

When I choose 'About This Mac' from the Apple pull down, I get a pop up that says I'm only updated through version 10.8.2... My question has changed - why is my iMac not taking the 10.8.3 update?

    From several others:
Download the OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.3 (Combo) at

  • Itune's app store keeps showing same updates?

I check for updates to my iOS apps and I keep getting the same updates even after I downloaded them. Why is this? It's vary ignoring. I have rebooted the mac and quit and relaunch iTunes but nothing seem to get rid of this issue. I don't want to delete my library file and start over. Is there a way to repair or any tool that will rebuild the library without starting from scratch?

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • App Store keeps showing update for program that has been uninstalled

The App Store keeps showing an update available for Virus Barrier Express even after I have removed it completely from my system.  Going into the Purchased list shows it is not installed.  When the application was installed it always said there was an update.  No matter how many times you clicked Update and allowed it to download and install the update, the App Store still showed the update needed to be installed.
On another machine it constantly shows an update for one of the installed applications but clicking the update button doesn't clear the update once it's been downloaded and installed.
Deleting the App Store preference hasn't resolved the issue.  Enabling the debug menu and using the Reset Applications option has not either.

I found out what was causing my problem (can't re-install an app that I deleted and which was purchased from the App Store). The app I was trying to re-install under Lion was Apple's Compressor v4 which is only available through the Mac App Store. However, even though I was booting from my one-and-only copy of Lion the Mac App Store was apparently getting confused by an old copy of Compressor v3.5 that was installed on another boot disk that I maintain for Snow Leopard. I'm running on a quad-disk Mac Pro so all four disks mount whenever I start the system. In any case, all I had to do was unmount the other disks and the Mac App Store then allowed me to install Compressor v4 on my Lion system.
The reason I was able to pinpoint this solution is that I wanted to run another Mac App Store app (Find Any File) and even though the Store said it was "Installed" I couldn't find the application in either the Lion Application folder or within LaunchPad. I then realized that the App Store was referencing the copy of that app that was stored on my Snow Leopard disk and unmounting that disk finally allowed me to install both Compressor v4 and Find Any File on my actual/current boot disk (i.e. Lion).
Now, the odd thing about this problem is that Compressor v4 wasn't installed on any of my disks, it was the older version of Compressor (v3.5.3) that apparently was preventing me from installing the new version 4 on my Lion system. In fact, Compressor v3.5.3 crashes immediately under Lion so that version of the app isn't even usable when I'm running Lion.
So, if you're having a problem with installation or app removal or updates from the Mac App Store try dismounting any other disks which you might have attached to your Mac and see it that solves your problem. If it does solve the problem then you can almost be assured that the cause of your difficulty is some file that is present on one of your other disks (i.e. app may not even be on your current boot disk).

You stated; " I have been successful with My Power Mac "
A Power Mac is incapable of being upgraded to Mavericks. It is a PPC Mac which can only run versions of OS X up to 10.5.8 and no higher. Any version of OS X higher that 10.5.8 requires an Intel processor to run.
Does the iMac meet the hardware requirements for Mavericks?

  • The App Store says I have 3 apps that need to be updated but when I go to update no apps show up

The App Store says I have 3 apps that need to be updated but when I go to update no apps show up

I have a similar problem and have had this before.
I rang Apple the first time and they said because I had 2 Apple ID's this can happen so I cancelled one Apple ID (which is another problem and drama in itself) and that resolved the issue.
I now have the problem again with only one Apple ID so I've transferring purchases from my iPhone and iPad to iTunes. Then I synced again and hoped for the best. Unlucky! Didn't work. Time to call Apple support again...
