have you guys thought about as an option to upgrade nvidia 8800 GS to nvidia 200 series,nvidia gtx 260 and 280 model's for the 3ghz+ intel imac and your next gen line or even your towers as well even funcom and gear works are behind it 100% just as a suggestion but fairly reasonable one

And secondly, you can have variables of type int and variables of type Integer. What is the difference?Integer is a wrapper class for the primitive int type. It allows you to use int-type concepts in places where an Object is required. But don't over-use these as there is a memory and performance overhead that must be taken into consideration.

Firefox 4 Beta crashes everytime I open it. Then I'm forced to close the program and it won't let me restart it since it says it's already running. Which isn't true. I'm done trying it. Do you guys know about this problem?

Everytime I start Firefox 4 beta it crashes. I usually can visit one site on the web (doesn't matter what site) and then it locks up. The only thing that works on the browser then is the close button. After clicking the close button I'll try to restart the browser and I'll get an error message saying it can't open Firefox because it's already open. Which is a bunch of BS. The only I can get Firefox started again is to restart my computer. This is so frustrating that I've given up trying. Hopefully you guys know about this bug and can do something about it. I wasn't trying to post a question here I just wanted to make sure you guys heard about this problem.

Have you guys seen this fatelf stuff before?

I was just reading through some of the backpages on reddit... Anyhow, this fatelf concept is new to me. I was just wondering if it would ever be possible for something like this to be utilized by arch. I think it would be really cool if both the x86 and the x86_64 portions of arch could be merged back into one. I must admit that I don't understand this all too well, but it really does seem quite interesting.

From the standpoint of the x86 version I do agree with the added size and complexity that this would create. However, for the 64-bit version of arch I think it would make things more clean. I think i have around 30 different lib-32... packages on my computer, which all work great until I install something which is not familiar with the arch lib layout, then there is trouble. I think if the 32-bit and 64-bit libs were combined under the 64-bit ed, then such situations would just not arise. Perhaps I am just looking at this from the end user's point of view though. If it was considerably more difficult for the people making the packages, then I would see it as a bad thing. However, if on the other hand it took the same amount of effort to create one combined package as it would to create either package seperately, then what would happen is there would be less work in total for the people creating these packages. Or maybe at some point in the future there could be the option to install a 32-bit, 64-bit combined library instead of the standard 64bit lib that would come with the system. That way people who have no desire to run 32bit software would not experience the swell from these larger binaries, however people who do want to run 32bit stuff would have a more simple implementation.
Sorry to worry you guys, I don't really have any intention of wanting to make arch into archbuntu. I just thought this idea was interesting and wanted to see if it could be usable here and if so where.

Since updating to iOS 6 on my ipad i am unable to connect to the internet, itunes or the app store. I have tried many suggestions about changing the dat, logging in/out of itunes etc but nothing has worked! Please help :)

Since updating my ipad to iOS 6 a few days ago i can't seem to get onto the internet, the app store or itunes, nor can i update to iOS7!! I sent an email to apple support and they said we don't handle these issues and redirected me back to the help forums which i have already seen and tried everything other people have suggested and nothing has worked (changing date, signing in/out of itunes etc). When i go to app store the screen is blank, in itunes it just keeps saying loading but never gets anywhere and same with the internet! When i go to settings to update to iOS 7.0.4 it says software update unavailable, try again later. Not sure what to do now. Nothing works, can't use my apps, facebook, music etc. Will contact apple again and try get some answers. But thanks for any info

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

BT should get their supply chain problems sorted before overloading it with this inessential item.

you posted on the adsl speed/conenction board and were offered help by john46 but you have never replied and posted the information requested. This may help you get a better conenction speed but need more information

How easy it for a novice to overclock this chip without software?

The software overclocking programs you give won't work on the Nforce2 anyway.
here are some that have much more chances to work and are very easy to use:
- clockgen: choose the nforce2 program
- Nvidia System utility
- 8rdavcore
This should give you a good feel for it.
An advice: overclock slowly, 1MHz FSB at a time and test using prime95.
Overclocking too much too fast can
- lead to instabilities
- freeze or reboot your system
- even damage some part (very rare)

dorcuse is correct.
You can't install that(or any other applications,for that matter) on your iPhone.
Supported Apps should be available for the iPhone sometime early next year.

My daughter alerted me to a call she received from Verizon telling her that we had an $80 credit and just to log in to receive it.
Today, I just received a phone call (robo-call from phone number 800-922-1212) claiming that it was from Verizon and because I was such a good customer I could save $80 on my next bill by logging onto www.Verizon80.com. When I tried to call back the number it was not in service. When I looked on the official VerizonWireless.com website there was no warning but also no such program.
I typed in the URL that they had given on the message and Chrome warned me that it was a Phishing website. Just trying to trick people into giving away their account information. I wanted to warn others. This is a Scam!

Came from the Verizon customer service number just like yours. What got me thinking for a moment that it *might* be real, is because I am currently using the prepaid services, but my phone is currently off and the fact that I still received the phone call is what go me thinking.

All of a sudden, with the last two new versions of Firefox, I am having logon problems at Gmail, Youtube, Yahoo, and other sites that I had NO trouble before. What have you guys done?

I never had trouble logging on to such common sites such as Youtube, Yahoo, or Gmail, until I upgraded to the latest version of Firefox. I never had to "delete cookies" or "clear cache" in the past to get logged on. If this issued isn't corrected soon I regret I'll have to go back to IE...oh the agony!!!

Then make your software into .rpm format
While I can understand that it would take a fair bit of effort to put the whole of oracle server into .rpm format, the instant client, version 10.2.x.y has been out for a YEAR and it's still not available as an rpm file.
If you can't be bothered to support rpm format, how can you honestly expect me to take your pronouncement that you will be "supporting" RHEL seriously.
We've got a RHCE working here that made an RPM for us in an afternoon, and Oracle hasn't managed to do it in a year. I can only imagine how slow REAL support for REAL problems will be with RHEL.

Three notes.
1) Nothing against Oracle, or their commitment to this, but the rpms listed above are part of the install for Enterprise Linux, which is really just a copy from source of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (with some extras like OCFS), including their installer and everything, just rebranded and repackaged. Now Oracle would definitely not go through the hassle of changing the delivered format, as there is no reason to do so, as it means changing the entire install AND update architecture.
2) If you look on the install listing, you will see the OCFS, which means it is delivered as an RPM...so this answers the, "yes, Oracle knows how to produce an RPM".
3) I personally would love to see at least the major product lines be deliverable via RPM or some text based installer method. I do a lot of remote work...remote GUIs are not kind.

It was indeed, due to application requirements ESXi was downgraded from 5.5 to 5.0. This implementation was prior to the release of 6.0.

The Google toolbar is not compatible with 5.0. It has been compatible with every previous version up until now. I need to know if and when it will be compatible.

Have you heard about "Softpedia" and the program "Burn"?

I ran across this site (Softpedia) from a Leo Laporte mac news podcast.
I have a CRT imac and have an external CD/DVD burner. I can play DVD's and CD's from this and have even burned CD's.
Have you heard about this site? Any good/bad news I should know about them?
I have upgraded my hard drive so I have over 100 GB of space, I’m running system 10.3. 500 megs of ram.
I know I don’t have toast, but may want to try burning a DVD, will Burn work? Have you Heard anything about this program. Free sounds good to me! But is it too good to be true?

Haven't heard about them . I use Disk Burner from centromedia ( http://www.centromedia.com/en/products/discburner/index.html ) that along with Patchburn ( http://www.patchburn.de/download.html ) . Patchburn I have because of the drive wouldn't be recognized without it ( came from an old HP pc ) Both are free . Disk Burner works great with iTunes , iMovie , iPhoto ,... it blends itself well with the OS just like it came with the system . Good luck.
