Have you had problems with Bridge CS6 after CR 8.4 installed?

Adobe Bridge CS6 running on Mac OS X 10.7.5 crashed several times while sorting images .  After installing Camera Raw 8.4, images in portrait orientation rotated to landscape and now the rotate image buttons and menuitems are unavailable for raw files including dng's.  Camera Raw preferences will not open from Bridge.  What is the best approach for uninstalling/reinstalling Bridge and CR updates?  Should I reinstall Photoshop as well?

I do recommend that anyone who is having weird issues with iTunes try Dave's suggestion of UNINSTALLING Flip4Mac and see what happens (but will an uninstall get rid of this particular file? who knows).
Good point, and something I should not have trusted without confirming. I just tried it and the uninstaller does not remove that framework. That's a serious "oops" on the part of Telestream (and I did confirm that the Flip4Mac installer does install that framework). The framework folder will need to be removed manually.
Regards.

  • TSLicence: have you had problems with this file

If you have, and I had major issues requiring me to erase and reinstall the OS, not once but several times, listen up: if you cannot open iTUnes, if all it does is bounce a few times in the dock and then die, you may (or may not) get a warning about "TSLicense..." Spotlight will not locate it. Using the finder you will not locate it. You have to go to library: frameworks and just delete the **** thing. Now maybe this license is part of what is attached to, and controls the allowable viewing time of, rented movies from the iTunes store. I don't know and at this point, after an incredibly exhausting two days with Tech Support (and getting a new hard drive installed under warranty), I think by deleting this folder I have my iTunes back. So no more rentals for this puppy: I"m going to go down the street to the store to rent movies. Way way way too much of a headache to bother with the "convenience" of downloaded rentals. (I don't have any problems with the movies I have purchased, by the way.) I hope this saves someone else tons of time. ANd if, by chance, "TSLicense..." is a regular feature of all iTUnes movie rentals, well. Someone better figure out why it was causing this user (and, I'm sure, others) to not be able to open iTunes.

  • Have you or have you had problems with iTunes while downloading?

I have noticed that when using iTunes using a slow DSL connection and sometimes trying to browse while downloading, iTunes does not download the complete file that is there is no Cyclic Reduntancy Check.
For example, a 40 MB file halfway downloaded will complete and not resume if somehow the internet connection was interrupted.
It would be great if there was a bit torrent or download manager like DownLoadThemAll (FireFox extension) would be used so you can schedule and resume a connection that was interrupted.
If you are having a similar problem, please post here and notify Apple to fix this problem.

I don't have a definite answer, but by any chance do you have your hard drive encrypted? (e.g. Windows BitLocker, or a third-party full-disk encryption package)
Playing my iTunes media files on my laptop used to work perfectly. Ever since the full disk encryption software was installed, my music skips & buzzes (and sometimes just plays more slowly, which is really weird) whenever the files don't get decrypted fast enough. That's usually when other apps are also accessing files, maybe there's a disk access priority scheme that doesn't work as well when it has to funnel through the decryption driver?
Also, although my symptoms are occurring on a rotating disc drive, I've heard that there are some compatability problems between the disk encryption packages and the SSDs.

OS X Yosemite v10.10.3 Update - I had problems with my iMac after installing the previous update and I removed that update.  Have there been problems associated with this update ?

I've been using it on all of my computer without any problems. Remember you won't see any positive comments here. Everyone here is complaining about a problem. If you want a good experience with any upgrade or update first make a backup from which you can boot the computer. If you are installing an update, like 10.10.3 for example, always download and install the Combo Updater - OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update. Before you install any update or upgrade over an existing system you should do this:Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

but cannot do this because I cannot access Mac App Store
If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

  • HT6065 I installed this update.  I have never had problems with "multiple prompts to unlock "Local items" keychain" until after I installed this update.  Now, I can't get it to STOP prompting me.

So how do I fix this?  How do I get this to go away?  It's prompting me for a password that I haven't ever set up!

I have the same problem with three pop-up prompts:
    (1) com.apple.iCloudHelper wants to use the "login" keychain. Please enter the keychain password.
    (2) CalendarAgent wants to use the "login" keychain. Please enter the keychain password.
    (3) AddressBookSourceSync wants to use the "login" keychain. Please enter the keychain password.
I can enter my login password and the prompt goes away for a little while, but eventually returns.  Or I can click on "Cancel" many multiple times and it goes away for a little while, but returns again.
I want a solution too and hope this additional information will help.

  • Problem with Bridge CS6 and MCXRedirector (OS X 10.9.5)

Good afternoon all, I have a very irritating issue with Bridge CS6 that I've pretty much given up on now, so I'm wondering if anyone out there can help me before I do.
The issue lies with Bridge CS6 running in a networked Mac environment, first, a little background: I am using OS X Server's Workgroup Manager facility for various restrictions and folder redirection. Our users had a nasty bug a little while ago that caused saved Photoshop files to end up in ~/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems instead of the actual network home location they selected to save in. While this was happening, a single entry was being used in the MCXRedirectory preference to redirect the entire of ~/Library/Caches/
This was resolved by changing that preference and branching it out a little more, so now the folders subject to redirection are as follows:
    ~/Library/Caches/Adobe
    ~/Library/Caches/Adobe Camera Raw
    ~/Library/Caches/Meta
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Doing this fixed the saving issue with Photoshop, but has in turn broken Bridge. When launched, Bridge immediately fails with the error "Adobe Bridge CS6 quit unexpectedly" and gives the three options to ignore, report or reopen.
Taking away the ~/Library/Caches/Adobe redirection allows Bridge to work as normal again, but then I'm back to square one with Photoshop files saving in TemporaryItems again.
Does anyone have any advice to remedy this annoying problem please?
    Thanks in advance.
    EDIT: Bridge version is 5.0.2.4

Sorry, did not solve the problem. The info given did not bear much relation to what I could see in the print drop down box. I have been through all settings I can access and every thing appears normal. The print preview in the print box appears normal and shows colour, but this does not translate to the actual print.
When printing a docuement of 3 pages or more using double sided the result is the first docuement page on one side of a sheet and the last page on the other side, but upside down, despite orientation set to long edge binding. All other pages between first and last are ignored.
When printing docuements originating from printer software such as Print Quality Diagnostic and Make The Most Of Your Printer, the printer performs correctly with good quality printing and colour.
I assume that the Mac update to 10.9.5 has corrupted something but I am not knowkedgeable enough to understand what. Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Problems with starting Windows after Boot Camp was installed on a Win-PC

    Hi,
i have a very interesting problem for the MacComunity (haha -.-). The problem is: after I have installed Boot Camp from my Snow Leopard DVD on my Windows PC (not my iMac); I can not start the system. In the Boot Camp System where i can set the system to start with, there was only the Boot Camp System available (not Vista). However, the system installs some Vista-Updates and some Updates from Apple Software Update (iTunes 9.2, Quicktime 7, Safari 5, Airport 5, Boot Camp 3.1) on my PC.
Everything was all right but after I have restarted the System nothing happend. the System freezed when the boot-Screen (Intel Logo) appears. The Systemkeyboard was not detected. It only detects a n external apple Keyboard. There are some reactions when I press the keys, but the Monitory is frozen, anyway. What can I do?

Sounds like a lesson in there: don't wait to put OS X on an external drive that is usually off line.
Rush to a store or on-line and get a UPS of the 1500VA sort (APC RS would be nice, or SMART UPS 1000VA).
The directory of the drives could be corrupt.
I have all my equipment, modem, routers, the works, but we had a bad storm and one port on the router/modem is out (the one I used, the modem seems to be okay) and I am worried that the UPS's line filter for DSL in is also 'compromised.'
Storms and power outages can wRECK or cuase havoc.
It sounds like you need to map out bad sectors maybe (zero all in Disk Utility) perhaps. The directory, volume blocks, or even journal file, got scrambled. However, because no test can find it means - to me - it could be the "non user partitions" rather than OS X partition etc. Hence, zero the drive or just reformat it in full.
Why have you not ever with these outages, just continued to live w/o one? I wouldn't just shutdown, I would unplug if a storm approaches.
PS: SMC Reset button is under drive bay #4. Give it a 5-10 seconds depress.

  • Recurring problem with Bridge CS6 64-bit

This happens every time I close Bridge to optimize my resources when I'm working in After Effects. I close out of Bridge - work for a while in After Effects, then need to import a new graphic into the project. When I try to start Bridge, nothing happens. So...I go to the task manager (Win Vista Business 64-bit), and guess what's still running there? bridge.exe - so I close it down in the task manager, then it starts up just fine.

Never done it myself, but isn't there a Mac-style never-close-Bridge thingamy in Preferences (minimise to tray, or Start Bridge at Logon)? I think, when it's ticked, Bridge never closes, it minimised instead.
In Bridge preferences is a setting you can check so that Bridge starts when your computer starts (in other words login to your user account)
When you check this setting in Bridge on a Mac it starts in the background when you start the computer (the application is running but hidden from the desktop)
Hence I always use the option via the system preferences itself because I don't want it to be hidden but immediately active when I start working
However Bridge has it's own mind (sadly enough not limited to this setting only) and every now and then decides to either start hiding itself or even deselect the auto start option totally. To my memory this problem is as old as it first appeared (in CS3?)
I have learned to live with this, although under protest...
Can't think of a reason this setting should not be able in Windows (for Mac it is in the advanced preferences tab 'start bridge at login')
And on a Mac we have three little button icons on a document or open window. A red one to close it, a yellow one to minimize it to the dock and a green one to fit the screen.
Neither of them quits the application itself
That aside I seem to remember other threads about same issue with closing windows and not quitting the application for Windows also.

  • Have you had trouble with an itunes gift purchase?

I purchased an itunes gift card for my son. It never arrived via UPS Or USPS. I called to cancel it. It is very difficult to even get through to a real person on the phone line. The recorded messages on APPle contact phone number only refers you back to the website. AFter canceling the gift card, I purchased a gift certificate to arrive in MY email and I would give it to my son. It has been two (2) days and I have not received the etunes gift card. I have spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON THIS EFFORT!!!! I will never purchase another card. Frustrated step-mom in Borrego

From whom did you buy the iTunes card? If it was from the Apple Store, did you call their ordering/customer service number (1-800-MY-APPLE)? I can't imagine that unless the line was just busy and was directing to the Apple web site people who didn't want to wait for an agent (and of course it is Christmas time, so it's quite possible that the order lines are jammed). You could also check your order status by going to the web Apple Store and clicking on the Order Status link. If you bought the card through some other vendor, then of course you'd have to check with that vendor.
As to your gift certificate, first check any spam filters on your computer or with your ISP to make sure that the email from Apple isn't being filtered out. Nine times out of ten, a gift certificate that fails to arrive has been caught by an email spam filter. Confirm that there's no spam filter in place that would catch a message from Apple and then try resending. Here are the steps to resend a gift certificate...
    1. Launch iTunes.
    2. Click on the Music Store icon in the Source pane to go to the Music Store.
    3. Click on your account name to sign in to the iTunes Music Store.
    4. Enter your password.
    5. Click Purchase History.
    6. Click the small grey arrow next to the Gift Certificate you'd like to resend.
    7. Scroll to the bottom of the detail screen for the Gift Certificate and re-enter the recipient's email address.
    Hope this helps.

  • Have you had experience with a large number of queues in XI/PI?

We currently have an application that sends work orders using quality of service EOIO. The problem with this approach is that if one message fails, then no further messages are processed until the error is resolved or the message is cancelled. Additionally, throughput is affected since there is no opportunity for parallel processing.
We are considering changing the application so that rather than having one queue for all work orders, we would specify a separate queue for each work order. This would potentially create thousands of queues but since queues are a logical concept in XI there should be a negligible resource overhead.
Has anyone tried this? Are there any problems with the qRFC QIN Scheduler in the event of a mass failure?
We intend to run some tests but are looking for some words of wisdom from anyone else who has been there before.

    hi,
check these links on controlling queues so that message processing and the available workprocesses to a queue is controlled.

  • Problem with Bridge CS6 and zooming to 100%

When I click on a file to zoom to 100% it zooms to 800%. I had the same problem in CS5 and fixed it by deleting the com.adobe.bridge.plist, but this does not work with CS6 and I don't even find the plist. I have a Mac with OS X 10.8.2. I found two plists, com.adobe.CSXS.3 and com.adobe.CSXS2Preferences but it didn't fix the problem deleting them.
I use the zoom function alot and would be very grateful if someone could help me. I do not like the preview workspace with the little 100% window, I prefer zooming to 100% by clicking on the file.

It does not work on a Mac, and they have only one set og +/-, at least my Macbook Pro has.
That is a bit strange, it always has worked for that way on both my Mac Pro and my MacBook.
I can use the scroll wheel on my mouse to enlarge the 100 % preview from loupe in preview window to 200, 400 and 800% but also the + and - keys from both my qwerty key board and the number pad of my extended keyboard for the same result.
Hitting tab for full screen preview I don't even have to click, both aforementioned + and - keys set to 100%, 200, 400 and 800% as well my scroll wheel.
All those methods work on both MacPro and MacBook.

  • Power Mac G4 - Have you had success with a SATA Drive?

I am replacing a bad SATA drive- have any of you used a SATA drive and had a good experience with it?
the Seagate 1TB I'm replacing is less than a year old. I only want to do this once.
    thanks!

    Hi-
I've been using WD SATA drives for over 3 years in my G4's, using Firmtek Seritek PCI controllers.
    No issues at all.
I have several WD6400AAKS drives, which are very fast and very reasonably priced.
The WD Black drives are excellent as well, with the 2 I have providing reliable eSATA transfer for a couple years.
    Performance is shown Here.
