So I got a call from one of my co-workers this morning regarding an email that he has been trying to receive from a (vendor?) regarding generator information. The domain is powersgenerator.com.
In looking in my logs, sure enough there is a message in my amavis log regarding open relay:

What is the best way to word an email to this person (in a respectful business manner) to tell him (probably not in IT at all, and will have no idea what I am talking about) the reasons his email was rejected? Some examples would be awesome.

Have you had success using Deployment Manager in 9.1.0.2?

Have you had sucess with Deployment Manager in 9.1.0.2?
I am seeing very inconsistent before for simple imports UDF, simple adapters, etc. Things work better the first time only after a restart. Sometimes I can fail on the first UDF but other times I can get a couple out of 50.
We are running 9.1.0.2 BP01, Weblogic 10.3, Oracle 10.2.0.4 2-node rac database.
Any suggestions?

I've been using WD SATA drives for over 3 years in my G4's, using Firmtek Seritek PCI controllers.
No issues at all.
I have several WD6400AAKS drives, which are very fast and very reasonably priced.
The WD Black drives are excellent as well, with the 2 I have providing reliable eSATA transfer for a couple years.

Have you had success with offbrand ram?

I just got off the phone w/ 1800 4 memory because the ram I bought (1 gig to max out my computer to 2 gigs) is faulty. They suggested that it might be apple trying to keep people from using third party ram. He suggested I pay more for the samsung ram (that is what originally came with my computer).
I opted to receive another stick and see how that works. Has off brand ram been a problem for MBP's?

Most all RAM comes from the same manufactures. There are just a few, and they get together like the oil industry, cut back production, and drive prices up like you seen this summer/fall.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Breaking into the market

Hi Guys,
I am keen to land a job in Java Programming and would appreciate any advice...
I have a good Physics Degree rather than a computing one but I am currently studying for a HND in Software Development and the SCJP exam. What do people feel is more important to have the HND or the SCJP?
Also it can be tough to break into the market without experience - the old catch 22 situation. How did those of you that work in programming get your first job ? And what level were you at - i.e. could you already write programs or did you learn to program on the job?
Your feedback and experience would be welcome.

The catch 22 is always there in the job market, regardless of the field. The trick is to find a way in using what or who you know. For me it was a co-op program at the university I attended many years ago. And I know several people where I currently work that broke in using the same technique quite recently. And don't turn down opportunities to work in related fields, eg. a financial industry job will provide you with a lot of domain knowledge that can come in handy later.

Have you had high cc usage for a planned expense that lowered your FICO scores?

In a week or so I am initiating some home improvements and repairs. I know the charges to my cc will be way over the ideal limit until I pay it(them) down, but I now have zero interest on several cards so now is the time to do it. Has someone done this and seen their credit scores sink to the bottom of the barrel? I am thinking I should just not look at scores while I am doing these necessary things and just continue paying down the balances until my credit scores recover. How badly did your credit take a hit if you have done this? Was it worth it to you? (I only just got these scores in the last weeks due to utilization and new accounts.) Oh, and what is considered 100% usage? How close to the limit can I go? Thank you for any responses. Utilization is balance/limit. If the balance equals the limit it's 100%. Musiclover wrote:

Try resetting the SMC and PRAM first, if that doesn't help try a cleaning disc.....and then buy an inexpensive external burner. Slimline super drive failures are all too common.
To reset the SMC
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

If the app is designed correctly, the no, you won't. However, you'd have to ask the people who wrote the software, Adobe.

No. The warranty does not cover damage.
You can only get a replacement if you can talk Apple into selling you and out of warranty replacement.

If I always have my MB Pro plugged into the power adapter. . . .

If I always have my MB Pro plugged into the power adapter, will my battery still wear out as it would if I were depleting and recharging it daily?
I tend to find a power outlet anywhere that I go in order to run my MB Pro on the adapter rather than using battery power. It's a habit that formed while using my 6 year old Powerbook G4 with about 5 minutes of battery life per full charge.
I understand that it shouldn't wear out to the same extent as running the battery down constantly, but is there still a significant effect?
Does the adapter bypass a full battery and power the computer directly?
I feel like an idiot asking this question, but I am really curious.
