Have you noticed?

Have you noticed the new alert sounds for new Text Messages? I actually wish the doorbell sound was available for this. . . .oh well.

Yes! I like how we can tell the difference now between when it's a text or an email without looking at the screen.

  • What GOOD or NEW things have you noticed after the update?

    What good things have you noticed since the update that were not mentioned in the update video?
    One or two of these may have been already there, I might just be taking a closer look.
    Faster screen switching in Phone mode
    Ability to specify ports in email settings
    Slightly smoother scrolling in Contacts

    More ways to spend money on iTunes. Nothing else. Guess we'll have to wait till OS 10.5 for possible inclusion of any real useful features.

  • Hi everyone,have you noticed that there is kind of green light inside the camera even if the camera turns off? It it normal? Thanks!

    Hi everyone,have you noticed that there is kind of green light inside the camera even if the camera turns off? It it normal? Thanks!

    I assume you mean green reflection from the camera?

  • Have you noticed that iMessage now takes up a lot of space in iOS7?

    I just updated to iOS7.  One of the things I noticed when I look at my usage of the memory is that it says Messages is taking up 4GB of space.  Is that true?  I don't recall every seeing that in iOS6.  Are you seeing something similar?
    If it's true, how would I be able to clean out that space?

    Regularly update and sync your iPhone with iTunes. Syncing will permanently remove any cached files or other items that have been deleted from the device. When you sync your device to your iTunes, it will overwrite those old files with fresh ones.
    If the 503MB you see is in the iCloud section then backup your phone (Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage > Backup Now) and check again when it finishes. The 503MB may have been from a backup before you deleted them.

  • Have you noticed high fan RPMs after installing Quadro 4000 ?

    Just after I installed my new Nvidia Quadro 4000 for Mac I noticed that the fans are running at a much higher speed, everything else is working fine though, has anybody else noticed something like this ?, thanks

    Yes it has been reported.
    We have some threads over the last months, and on MacRumors.
    Do you have ATI 5770 in there also?
    I would use SmcFanControl 2.2.2 and boost the fans to get moe air flowing to begin and prevent heat buildup.

  • Have you noticed the newest version 3.6.23 crashes frequently? Mine does it a few times a day on web pages that used to work fine before the upgrade.

    Since the last Firefox update was installed on my system, Firefox crashes several times a day on websites that used to be no problem. I have five crash report id's from the last two days (I usually don't send the report). Do you want all of them?
    I'm running Firefox 3.6.23
    I'm running MacOS X version 10.5.8, on 1.5ghz powerPC G4
    with 2gb memory and over 100gig still available on my 150gig hard drive.
    I checked for updates - there are no new updates.
    I tried sending feedback, but the feedback page said I had to be running the latest version of firefox. So I clicked on "latest version of Firefox", and got "Unfortunately the latest version of Firefox isn't compatible with your computer's operating system"
    The "learn more" link took me to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/4.0/system-requirements/ which says that OS 10.5 is supported.
    So - how do I get back to my previous version of Firefox so it doesn't keep crashing
    AND/OR
    Is there a fix coming to stop all the crashing
    AND/OR
    What do I do about Firefox versions on my computer?
    Thanks

  • Social Media Trends for 2014 - Have you noticed them?

    Recently I have been conducting some research on Social Media trends that have grown in popularity especially this year and look likley to continue to grow.
    Here are the top 5 trends that most experts recognise as an area of focus for all social media specialists. I would love to hear some feedback on this and see of you are using any of these channels on a day to day basis and keeping up with the trends.
    Twitter - Real Time Twitter Visual Advertising rapidly increasing and becoming more and more noticeable. Visual content is KING! as it gives you the ability to communicate complex messages very quickly. This is essential and is becoming more popular because it allows Digital Marketers to grab the attention of users quickly and swiftly.
    Google Plus - The growth of Google Plus has man predicting that it will pass Facebook in users in 2016. A lot of people agree that it is time to enter the fray as along with many benefits that come with Google Plus the main benefits includes cirlces & niche content as well helping with your SEO.
    Facebook Advertising: 90% of Facebook's revenue comes from Facebook advertising and the numbers are expected to keep growing. My experience with Facebook advertising is that it does work but does it work for you?
    The downfall of Facebook Advertising is the constant change and tweaking that continuously happens. From the changing of the interface to the changing of ads it does become frustrating at times. The thought of limiting free traffic to your pages is a big NO-NO for me as it pushes you to pay in order to build a fan base that you've worked hard for.
    Blogging: Blogging is far from dead! Tumblr has roughly over 100 million blogs and WordPress is not too far behind at 63 million. Blogging is still very dominating and a great way to get content directly to consumers and prospects easily and efficiently. Blogging if done correctly can be the sole driver of users to your website.
    Podcasting: Podcasting is a "multimedia digital file made available on the Internet for downloading to a portable media player." The number of digital marketers using podcasts sits at around 5% but in the next 12 months could jump to 24%. .

    That can be a problem with a plugin, possibly Java.

  • Adobe Illustrator users on rMBP: Have you noticed horrid pixelation in vectors lines and fonts?

    Hey all...
    I understand the scaling issues on apps that aren't yet developed for rMBP - But really... this is practically unusable.
    FYI I'm using CS6 Illustrator.
    Does anyone have any work arounds or do we just have to hope adobe redesign for retina displays?

    If you're in your 14-day 'no questions asked' return period, you could always exchange your Retina display for a non-Retina. While I understand that Adobe is 'working on' a version of Photoshop that would be compatible with native Retina display, I've heard no rumors that they are currently working to upgrade any of the CS6 apps at this time. You only need look at the Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop forums to see how unhappy Adobe customers are with the Retina display.
    I have no idea when any other third-party apps are going to be upgraded for Retina display models. If you look at how small the market is for Retina display it simply doesn't make economical sense to pour a lot of engineering time into such projects. While I'm 100% certain that Adobe will come out with Photoshop maximized for use on Retinas, there's no hint that any of the other apps are in the same boat.
    One of my friends here bought the MBPR and he calls it "a piece of cr*p". He's selling his.
    Try to get Apple to exchange it if you're still under the 14-day grace period. I think that you'd be much happier - and certainly more productive - using a non-Retina model. When third-party software vendors come out with apps that can handle Retina, that will be the time to buy. Apple software - most which support Retina - doesn't do everything...

  • Have you notice that in Facebook app you can @ people...but only at certain times?

    Has anyone else noticed that at certain times in Facebook app you can @ people and other times you can't? I can't seem to figure out when tho. Any ideas?

    Something like this will work:
    long now = System.currentTimeMillis();
    GregorianCalendar cal = new GregorianCalendar();
    cal.set(Calendar.HOUR,17);
    cal.set(Calendar.MINUTE,0);
    cal.set(Calendar.SECOND,0);
    int day = cal.get(Calendar.DAYOFWEEK);
    int yearday = cal.get(Calendar.DAYOFYEAR);
    cal.set(Calendar.DAYOFYEAR,yearday + (day == Calendar.FRIDAY)? 3 : 1))
    long next = cal.getTime() //don't know... maybe needs another getTime()?
    Thread.currentThread.sleep(next-now);

  • Have you noticed that it gets slow at opening multiple displays or apps in OS Mavericks?

    When I'm running your OS Mavericks. It gets slow, I don't have many apps or files but it is slower than Lion 10.7.5, even mountain lion
    Can you please tell me what to do?
    There are a lot of things that I don't like it's slower and it was supposted it'd be faster..
    1. The internet is the same
    2. There are less file than before the installation
    3. The podcast app in the utility is not in this and this has deleted my files
    4. While I am using only safari, it gets hot and slow internet
    5 It's slow to respond to my actions in every tab, tab to change the app
    6. I have to update many apps so in my harddrive there's less space
    IT IS VERY SLOW AND I DON'T LIKE. THE IMAGE OF THE OS IS PRETTY BUT IN EFFICIENCY IS POOR JUST IN CONTRAST WITH THE KEYNOTE HAS SAID
    http://www.apple.com/apple-events/october-2013/

    Got it!
    Unchecking/deselecting is what I have been doing. Separating configurations using the "playlists" seems to be the only/best way to accomplish what I need ~ different library files for different iPods being used.
    You have confirmed my suspicious.

  • Have you noticed the 3G struggling to run some apps?

    I thought it was just a dodgy update but after trying the apps on a 4g iPod Touch its clearly the 3G at fault.
    Vevo - The music video service, you open it, it gets to the home screen then just crashes, runs perfect on 4G
    BK App - Again just randomly closes, runs perfect on 4g
    Ubertwitter - The new twitter client, I've only had a brief play with it as its only out today, but its dog slow
    I'm sure there is more than this, I may be wrong, but could it be something to do with the high res images used for retina display take up more memory and the 3G can't cope?
    Whats your thoughts?

    It's not the 3G it's the 4.0 OS. Apple doesn't give a crap so they won't fix it

  • Latest upgrade - have you noticed a BIG change in CPU temp and fan activity

    I have just installed the latest update which included the Mac OS X Update 10.5.7.
    Prior to this, the CPU temperature was averaging 100, fan speed approx 2-3k, no matter what I did. Checking the ACtivity Monitor showed no runaway programmes.
    Now CPU temp is 56, fan speed 1k.
    The battery pack no longer is hot enough to fry an egg.
    Has anyone experienced such changes?
    I wonder if this relates to the very poor battery life/usage associated with these MBP originals?
    royuk

    thanks for the response.
    'All processes' is selected - showing 50-70% CPU idle. MacBook has good ventilation, sitting on a hard table. I upgraded the HD a while ago, to a 7200 rpm 320GB unit, would this make a difference?
