Have you removed the risk of removable media?

When it comes to ransomware, everything comes down to one question: What’s the cost?Because there are definite costs to your organization beyond the ransom itself.Almost every case includes hiring outside resources, and a long go-forward plan with consultants, equipment upgrades, and new software. What costs far less is up-to-date protection, patched machines, and secure backups, which is all on a to-do list somewhere in all IT departments. Maybe it’s time to move it up on the list: http://blog.lumension.com/10270/ransomware-to-pay-or-not-to-pay/. Read the full series on ransomware on the Lumension blog: http://blog.lumension.com/

Have you removed iPod Classic from your product line?

    No, I haven't.
More seriously though; you're not talking to Apple here, we're fellow users like you. But a quick check of the UK store site does not have the iPod Classic listed, which suggests that Apple have discontinued it.
If that's so, there's probably nothing anyone here can do about it. On the other hand, since all the store's pages appear to be incomplete (if you can get them to load), perhaps you should check again tomorrow to see if any further site updates give you new information.

  • Have you used the new workflow features in CM 12?

In CM 12.0, users can optionally deploy the standard
approval processing or new flexible, workflow approval
processing based on the project and/or document. Have you
used the new workflow features? Do you think the new
workflows will allow your organization to better drive and
control internal and multiple party reviews?

I was one of those users who fight for this
    functionality.
I find using it however very
    unhandy.
    Let me give you real
    life examples:
    1. Once you
create an order/contract and do not choose "New
Method" you cannot change approval method to new any
more. Imagine one of my users was creating an order
with 120 items (hell of typing!) then she spotted that
she cannot send it with new review process to several
reviewers in sequence. The need for retyping it makes
5 other ppl already against this software, even if
they did not used it at all.
    2.
    Document Owner has admin rights.
    For some
reason user needs to be document owner in order to
setup review process. Imagine in our situation usual a
site assistant, or junior person in technical office
is responsible for creating and typing all the
orders/contracts. So this person needs to be Document
    Owner in order start review.
    Document owner
however can also approve/reject in name of other users
mentioned in review cycle. This I find strange and
make entire new review/approval cycle worthless, as
the situation is still that anyone can approve someone
on someone behalf with no control.
    <br
/>3. Alerts missing. I couldn't find an alert that
would be generated if a document is held internal (by
user) for more then ... x days.
    <br
/>4. I'm also missing a Project Setting for "all
documents must use new review process"; "defoult
reviewers is + 'All in sequence' + 'list of reviewers'
    - for each kind of document.<br /><br />If
you want to force users to follow a strict
methodology, and your software gives them chance to
choose whomever they want, wherever they want, use any
approval method, approve on someone behalf ... you
    will finally fail.<br /><br />I keep
hearing that Primavera sold thousand of licenses, and
they will develop this product, I just hope they will
hurry, before users switch to other software.<br

Dear Apple, Have you fixed the 'Time out' issue with airport? It now happens to me 2-3 times a day for the past 6 months. Answers please.

We're not Apple - these boards are user-to-user.

  • Have you received the official 2.2 OTA update? When, where and what version.

Since I have seen several posts where Verizon techs have said the update continues to be pushed out, have you received the official (not downloaded) OTA 2.2 update since August 5, 2010?
If you could, please include: (1) the date and time your received the update; (2) where you are located; and, (3) the version of the 2.2 update.
    Thanks!

My son-in-law received it a couple of days ago but there are 3 others of us in the family that are still waiting and we live close to each other.  The distribution is also obviously not first-come-first-served.  I guess there is nothing to do but wait.  I'm hesitant to download it.  I would be happier if Verizon had a server available so you could choose either to download it or go OTA.  And I would be happier if Verizon were more forthcoming on the distribution plan and time-line.  There appears to be so much mystery.  Some of you have been told that they are releasing 5000 at a time or 70000 a day but I have yet to find an official schedule or plan posted by Verizon.
    So I continue to wait.

  • Why have you removed the bookmarks side panel button? This is THE most important feature of firefox.

Since last update of firefox, the button to open the side bar bookmarks have been removed (ctrl+B) equivalent.
I don't want to do a ctrl+B command in a graphical interface that I use so often. There is no good enough extension for that task.
This is THE reason I used firefox since the begining.
I have gazillions of bookmarks cleanly ordered since YEARS of web browsing. This is the way I use internet. If I have a project I create a folder and I put every interesting links I want to remember in it. There is no way to do that in a dropdown menu which close at every click.
I know people who use chrome and keep up to 60 tab open just to remember what they need.
I just spent half a day searching for proper extension in chrome and opera.
I feel so frustrated and powerless in front of browser developpement, I have to tell it. I would gladly pay 20$ per year to keep that function there, a single button sending ctrl+B command, so simple and already coded.
Firefox was my only browser for years, I leave you with that. Now I'm going to download and try the new internet explorer.

You can find the link to open the bookmarks in the sidebar at the top of the bookmark menu button list that opens if you click the folder button (Show your bookmarks) next to the bookmarks star on the Navigation Toolbar.
You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.
    *Classic Theme Restorer: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
*You can check out the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
*You can find extra toolbar buttons and more toolbar settings in Customize (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)
In current Firefox releases (29 and later), that have have the Australis user interface, the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three-bar Firefox Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar and this button is always visible, whether you have the menu bar visible or hidden<br>A consequence of this location is that you no longer can hide the Navigation Toolbar
*There is a star like button next to the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu.<br>You can find "Show All Bookmarks" to open the Bookmarks Manager (Library) at the bottom of this drop-down list
*If you bookmark a page then "Bookmark This Page" in the Bookmarks menu changes to "Edit This Bookmark"
*You can make the title bar visible via the "Title Bar" button at the bottom left in the Customize palette window
It is still possible to have the menu bar visible via the right-click context menu of a toolbar to have menus like the File menu with Print (Ctrl+P) and Print Preview and the Bookmarks menu available.

  • Why have you removed PhoneGap Build from Dreamweaver CC?

From Dreamweaver October 2014 release is now live! Important information.
"Phonegap Integration deprecated: To ensure that you have access to the latest Phonegap updates, this feature is deprecated. You can use http://build.phonegap.com directly to package your applications."
How to kill a perfectly good service!

The service is still there.  You'll get the latest version directly from the PhoneGap site.  It's impractical to update Dreamweaver with new versions of PhoneGap Build every time PG changes.

  • How have you made the DInc2 work best for you?

How have you personalized your DInc2 and made it work best for you? I mean, how have you set up the home screens, added/wigits or apps, organized stuff on your phone to make it the best phone for you? I LIKE my DInc2 but don't LOVE it, so I'm looking for some ideas to make it more me.

Here are a few apps I found useful:
    ColorDict - a free dictionary
    ColorNote - a free notepad
Skype - this is the full version downloaded from the market that can take advantage of the front facing camera, not the the skype mobile comes with the phone which doesn't have video call.
Kindle - a nice ebook reader
Yahoo Mail app - it pushes mail to your phone
My Track - a free Google product that uses GPS for tracking. It's useful when you are hiking
Since the HTC Clock/Alarm Clock app is broken, I also downloaded an alarm clock app
I also downloaded a few games to stimulate my brain once awhile.
In case you're interested, here are the apps I have on my home screen:
Yahoo mail, Battery meter, Music, ColorDict, Skype, ColorNote, Gallery, Maps, GPS, Navigation, Camera, Camcorder, Internet, People, Messages, Calender.
I wish the phone can lay golden eggs but so far it hasn't.

  • To JER...have you seen the illusive bottleneck.....lol

I do hate to rub it in, but unless I am very much blind....lol....this problem that he was very thoughtful in warning me about has yet to rear it's ugly head.
In fairness, the amount of gaming he must think I do leaves me rather awestruck
Also, the game is not like those that require 'performance' settings.
If anyone has even watched Golf on TV you'll know that it does not exactly race along.
The ideal settings for my game are Quality, Anistropic Filtering(AF) at 8x.
The game's rendering settings are at the slowest end, for best detail.
Links 2003 (like it's predecessor 2001) actually runs a system test and then sets the games draw rate accordingly.
Also, after alot of hiccups, as mentioned in other threads of mine, I disabled the overclocking, and set the CL for 2.5.
Since then this machine purrs along.
Lastly, my HDD is IDE, and 5400rpm.
Alot of the 'Technos' here have 7200+ SATAs.
Methinks I have actually got the right setup, although I do appreciate JER for the thoughfulness in bringing that point to my attention
    Thanks again

  • Have you made the fix with google plugin so i can update to the latest firefox

i have updated to the latest firefox but i lost my google toolbar so i uninstalled it and reverted back to the firefox before that

  • Have you noticed the newest version 3.6.23 crashes frequently? Mine does it a few times a day on web pages that used to work fine before the upgrade.

Since the last Firefox update was installed on my system, Firefox crashes several times a day on websites that used to be no problem. I have five crash report id's from the last two days (I usually don't send the report). Do you want all of them?
    I'm running Firefox 3.6.23
    I'm running MacOS X version 10.5.8, on 1.5ghz powerPC G4
with 2gb memory and over 100gig still available on my 150gig hard drive.
I checked for updates - there are no new updates.
I tried sending feedback, but the feedback page said I had to be running the latest version of firefox. So I clicked on "latest version of Firefox", and got "Unfortunately the latest version of Firefox isn't compatible with your computer's operating system"
The "learn more" link took me to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/4.0/system-requirements/ which says that OS 10.5 is supported.
So - how do I get back to my previous version of Firefox so it doesn't keep crashing
    AND/OR
Is there a fix coming to stop all the crashing
    AND/OR
What do I do about Firefox versions on my computer?
    Thanks

That can be a problem with a plugin, possibly Java.

  • Have you seen the new changes in Microsoft Word?

Microsoft recently made updates to Microsoft Word online to make working between documents as seamless as possible. The updates are being rolled out region by region, so you may not see these updates until later this week.
    Let’s check out the changes:
    1. Comments
When reviewing a document, comments can be critical to refining your work. Now, comments will be available in Word online just like the other versions of Microsoft Word you are used to. The new comments panel makes it easy to see all of the comments in a document.
You can not only reply to comments, but you can also mark them as done. Hints along the margin make it easy to tell where comments have been added.
    2. List Improvements (I wish I could post a photo here, so I could show you an example)
Lists are a great way to stay organized. Now, Microsoft is bringing some added intelligence to lists. Word will know when a list ends and a new one begins. You’ll also be able to click a menu item and select one of the list-specific options, Start
New List, Continue Numbering or Set Numbering Value.
When you choose Start New List, numbering will start from 1. If you would like to start a list from a previous list in your document, you can select continue numbering. If the previous list updates, your
current list will update as well.
You can also choose Set Numbering Value. With this option you can start a new list with numbering starting at any number, or you can continue from a previous list but have your top entry skip a few numbers. The possibilities
    for lists are endless.
    3. Exporting Document
It is now easier then ever to export documents in Microsoft Word online. There is now an option to download as a PDF and printing to a PDF is easier now too.
If you weren’t using Microsoft Word online before, now it’s time to start. We no longer live in a world where we just work at our office. Work is done everywhere and on the go, and using online programs has become a part of
our daily lives. These updates to Microsoft Work will make it easier to work effectively between documents, and we can’t wait to see what changes they will make next.

    Hi,
Thank you for focusing on our product and sharing your experience here, this will definitely help other users who are interested in our product.

  • Have you got the same problem?

    Hello,
I've been editing some code and wanted to use the 'insert
destination path' tool in the editor.
On pressing the icon Flash CS3 just...... QUIT. No saved
work, no message, just no window.
I'm shocked, since fortunately I wasn't working over some
important stuff for a client, which I didn't save.
    Anyway it just scared me.
The app is unpredictable. I don't remember now exactly how it
happened but during the first days after the installation,
it crashed while PS was running in the background.
Judging from how Adobe was advertising the product, it should
run smoothly and be trustworthy. I'm disappointed at the bugs.
    Did you encounter similar crashes?
I'm running WinXP with sp2 and all critical patches. System
works fine, no redundant litter. I use it only for designing.
I don't think any software clash could have caused the crash,
it must have been Flash CS3 bug.

  • PT880 Neo LSR----Dang----have you seen the bios options in this baby!

Bought this board from NewEgg for $59!!  Rumored to be Via's "Canterwood Killer"----and man---for $59---what a steal!
Got the rig together but haven't updated bios yet or loaded Windows.  But these things struck me immediately!!
BTW----it posted perfectly the very first time...
    1. AGP/PCI lock for the first time in any Via Bios!!!!!
    2. Extensive DRAM settings---way more than most boards
    3. Vcore voltages were excellent and ran very high
    4. VDIMM voltages went from normal to INSANE!!
    5. Excellent AGP votage adjustments.
    6. Northbridge voltage adjustments!
    7. Southbridge votage adjustments!
Plus it has some "Turbo" and "High Performance" settings I don't even know what they do.  Not to even mention the "Core Cell" Dynamic Overclocking stuff.
There is SOOOOO much to tweak and play with on this board----as much as any good Abit overclocking board like the IC7 Canterwood.
This is gonna be fun----hope it overclocks nicely and the benches are good.
If this thing will do 250 FSB with good timings and decent Vcore-----it WILL be a Canterwood killer----who wants to pay $100 more for a board that basically does the same thing.
Plus----call me a guy who just likes the underdog----but I LOVE the idea of VIA with as good or better product than Intel----and it being a whole lot cheaper!!!
Capitalism and competition-----don't you love it!
    John

I just got this board myself, and put it in my machine and did a WindowsXP reinstall.
Haven't had a chance to test it out in games. Only thing I had to do was put the motherboard in 4X AGP mode, as my Radeon 9700 Pro has the problem when running in 8X mode, within 3 to 5 minutes of booting WindowsXP, my monitor goes in to powerdown mode and only way to get it out of it, is to press the reset button. My Radeon 9700 Pro is a revision 1.1, which notoriously won't work in 8X AGP Mode.
Otherwise I like the board, espicailly the serial ATA controller, if I have to add more harddrives to my system.

  • Have you fixed the compatibility with HP printers and Symantec yet for the latest Firefox? I am waiting before installing.

You told me to install the 3.7 version in April. It messed up both my printer and my Norton security. I downgraded successfully. I am waiting to hear that HP printers and Symantec are now compatible. You said this was their responsibility, but it is your responsibility to inform us when you have become compatible with the most common devices, security and other programs. How else would we find out except by bombing our computers by upgrading you?

It seems like Symantec has.Hope this helps-
