Haven't received Gingerbread update on HTC Incredible

Is the Gingerbread rollout for HTC Incredible owners complete or still ongoing?
I keep reading about HTC Incredible owners having their update but I haven't had any update notice on my phone.
Anyone have an update on this?

Hello forum members,
I am please to advise that the rollout of Gingerbread has started, again! lol. The rollout began on 10/25. Although I don't know how long it will take to complete, historically software updates takes about 7-14 days to finish wirelessly. Please understand that if there is an unforeseen issue with the rollout then we are available to assist on the forums as well as on Twitter. Congratulations to those who has already received the update successfully! I'm sure that you will enjoy the enhancements to the device that this software update provides!
Thank you...
Update:  This response was referring to the HTC Thunderbolt.  Sorry for the confusion.  Thank you.

  • How to get Gingerbread update on old Incredible

Hi i am new to the community but not to Android. I am currently using a HTC Thunderbolt but i have an old Incredible that i would like to get the Gingerbread update on. Will i be able to get the Over the air update since it is not activated anymore? I have not recieved it yet. If i cannot get the over the air update is there a simple way to manually update the incredible to Gingerbread?

Thanks to all the community members for your input.
Hello Awhoward, adding to what Wildman stated, you would need to have the HTC Incredible device activated in order to have access to the update. This is because this update is available on our network and is the recommended method for obtaining a software update. Also, updates are pushed out to the phone when the become available. You can log into My Verizon under the account owner and do the equipment change to have the HTC Incredible device on the line that has the HTC Thunderbolt on it. Afterwards, please use this link to the instructions on how to complete the software update. If you want, you can change back over to the HTC Thunderbolt and activate the SIM Card. I hope this helps.

  • Gingerbread update for HTC Thunderbolt?

Sorry if this has been asked before....I'm new to the forums....
I was just wondering if anyone one has any information about when/if the thunderbolt will receive gingerbread?
I'm an original droid user.... upgraded to iphone 4.... got bored with it.... so i traded with a friend for the Thunderbolt.
So far I loooooove it. Not having any problems with it like it seems many others are. The battery life does really suck but I have 2 chargers and a car charger. And teaked my settings to save battery life.....
the only thing I wish I could do was watch netflix! and from my understanding this will only be possible by rooting (which I dont want to do, can't afford to get a new phone god forbid I mess something up) or getting the OTA update!
anyone have any ideas? I've read around it was expected to to be out by now, so whats going on?!?!

No update...The lastest Rumor  Note I said 'Rumor"  that the udpate was pulled back for some bug issues.
None knows for sure if that was the radio update or the GB update, since the "Official" persons VZ and HTC never give you any information, and "if" they do you are never sure if they are blowing smoke up your hindside or if it is actually true.

  • Gingerbread Update for HTC Droid Incredible

Here we go it's the Official thread for the upcoming "Gingerbread 3.0" update for the Droid Incredible.
Float this thread to the top of your page to always see whats new and never stay out of the loop!
    Tag often!
Here is some basic info regarding the new upcoming update. If you have any new information PLEASE update this thread and attach some links for all of us to follow.
Android 3.0 Gingerbread will be released in mid- October (around 15 -16th), 2010. First handsets shipping in November/December – for the Holiday Season.
Minimum hardware requirements for Android 3.0 devices are: 1GHZ CPU, 512MB or RAM, displays from 3.5” and higher.  (We all, of course, heard that Android handsets with 2GHz CPU’s are coming)
New 1280×760 resolution available for the devices with displays of 4” and higher. (Anyone thinking about Android tablets now? )
Completely revamped user interface. If you want to get a feeling of what Android 3.0 Gingerbread UX is like, check out the Gallery app on Nexus One. The same overall feel, light animated transitions, etc. Natively, through all the UI.
Android’s split into 2 branches becomes official. 3.0 for top of the line/high end devices. Cheap, low-end mass market handsets will keep Android 2.1/2.2
Just a few jabs to get the fire started. Keep it nice here please, and lets help each other be the highest informed forum on the net!                                            GO GINGERBREAD!!!!!

As I can see from your specs, we won't benefit from this update at all. Useless update. The new resolution would only be compatible with screens 4' and above.
With all the features we have now, what else are we gonna need?
Besides that, not even all Incredible ownsers have Froyo yet, it's too early to talk about some Gingerbread. Not even all Froyo users use all of its new features, such as 3G Hotspot and bugging apps that came with the update.
I'm just wondering what would Gingerbread bring that will make me like this phone more than I already do. Nothing.

  • Gingerbread Update Broke HTC Weather/Clock Widget

This issue is being reported by other users in various forums including the HTC Support forums...
The standard HTC Clock/Weather widget on the home screen is supposed to call up the Clock app if you press on the clock in the widget. From that app you can set alarms, timers, and more. After upgrading to GB, this no longer works though I think it may have to do with running the Clock app from the App list first.
After updating to GB yesterday, I believe that I was able to use the Alarm/Clock function from the widget at least once. Since that time, I ran the Clock app from the All Apps screen and now the Widget no longer calls up the Clock App and the Clock app itself has disappeared from the App list.
I think the root of the problem is the missing Clock app. Do NOT want to factory reset to get this back. There must be another way.
For those having this problem, is your Clock app missing?
Is there a way to reinstall just the Clock app?

I had to do a factory data reset.  The clock app is back  My info under applications is as follows
    Storage
    Total - 92.00 KB
    App - 0.0 KB
    Date - 92.KB
    Cache 0.00B
The only other  things I messed around with last night were skins under Personalize and the Dock app.  I don't know if that those have anything to do with the the clock app disappearing.
My talk app seems to be working ok again but it is still too soon to tell overall how the phone will hold up.  A factory data reset might not be the answer even though it will be suggested by VZW support.  The signal reception has to be a hardware problem as that seems to be unchanged.  I continuously get an error on the Market saying that I do not have a connection!

  • Z10 STL003 haven't received any updates to 10.3

my z10 hasn't recevied any update in software update.but it is available in blackberrystore

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
There are many theories about how control over the automatic updates is done...and the discussions are pointless. If the official methods don't offer you the update, then your only choice is to resort to unofficial (e.g., AutoLoader) methods if you simply cannot wait for that approval to release the automatic update to you.
    Good luck!

  • Update instructions for HTC Incredible to Gingerbread

These are the instructions that I followed to update my HTC Incredible to Gingerbread. They are straight forward and do not require a rooted phone.
Word of caution - this update is not without its problems (as demonstrated by the numerous issues posted here), apply at your own risk. I have had "low memory" issues, hardware information showing I have a 4.3" display, deleted applications (not a lot) and battery life issues.  I have not had IM issues since I don't use IM. If I was to do it again, I would backup my phone and do a factory reset after I applied the update (to clear out applications and reinitialize the OS file system).
    Hope this helps.

I received the update notification and everything proceeded as described in the PDF until the update reported I didn't have enough space in system memory to complete the process.  It left me in the Application Management app.  I dumped some data and moved some apps to SD but now I have not way to resume the update.
I performed a soft reset with the battery pull.  The PDF does not cover this scenario.
    What should I do now?
Thanks to the community.  I can understanding the update process has been difficult. The next step I would take would be to do a master reset. Once you reset the phone it will prompt you to install the update.  The steps to performa master reset are as follows:
From the home screen, touch Menu
    Touch Settings
    Touch SD& phone storage
    Touch Factory data reset
Tap Reset phone or Reset phone & internal storage
    Tap Erase everything
    I hope this helps. Thanks.

  • Its 9/10 and I still haven't received the Gingerbread update... Any suggestions VZW?

Its 9/10 and I still haven't received the update... Any suggestions VZW?

Hold on tight it'll come i got mine accouple days ago. An when it Does some things to remember before you except
    it.
    Do this:
Make sure you run the battery down an then Recharge it fully before doing the update.
Its a good idea to be close to the Tower so you can get the best signal while doing the update process
let the update go fully thru its steps it will take from 20 to 30 min. an no incoming or outgoing calls can be made an at the end of the update for about 2 to 3 min. it will look like its doing nothing but it is just leave it alone an finally it will be done an will be then at the home screen.
i would then shut it off wait about 5 min an then turn it back on. the boot up process will be alittle faster.
And my final suggestion is enjoy your new Incredble thats what i call mine.   B33

  • Haven't received the 10.3 update on my Z10

    Greetings ,
I still haven't received an update in my blackberry z10 . I use a bsnl
carrier and I'm from India . The model number is STL 100-4 and it was
purchased in Dubai . Does this mean i have to send this back to Dubai if i
have to update my phone ?
I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter pretty soon as I
am travelling back to Dubai in 2 days and would like to know if it would
help taking this phone back for an update .
    Regards ,

Mine also same problem not showing update. You mention about the carrier. I have bsnl braodband connection from which i'm accessing internet and still it is also showing no update! All is fully explained above. And carrier refers to your mobile service provider, not your home/office ISP...regardless of how you access the internet from your device, your carrier is typically in control of what you are offered for upgrades. But, again, it's merely an academic bit of information...I have no way to accurately know when or if you will ever be offered the update via the official methods. So the choice is yours...either continue to wait, or move to unofficial methods to force the update.

  • Gingerbread update

If you're from the grand rapids, mi area and got the update..lemme know please.

The state across the lake got it. (Wisconsin) lol. Gotta love Lake Michigan lol. Suprised you haven't recieved it yet. Should be soon if we got it. Hang in there homie. It'll come.
Pretty sure that recent posts that state other people in the Chicago area haven't received the update defeats any speculation that who is receiving the update is in any way connected to where you are.  It's more specifically about you and/or your phone's identification.

  • July 2014 update from HTC breaks WiFi

My wife and I received an update from HTC via VZW OTA and now neither phone will connect to the home Wifi. It doesn't connect to the WiFi at work and I'm seeing a lot of complaints on various forums about the update causing problems with WiFi for the 8x.
What was this update supposed to do and when will this issue be resolved?

Oops, I am so use to replying to android I just replied.
In any case Verizon may push it out for the maker of the device HTC be it androids or windows. The code did not come from Verizon.
Lets have HTC tell you the code was from Verizon.
The support is under the manufacturers warranty minus any water or physical damage.
Its just like customers yelling about updates to apple devices when Verizon does nothing to push them out. They cannot win.
    Again Good Luck

  • New Gingerbread on HTC Incredible

Both myself and my boyfriend have downloaded and installed the new Gingerbread update for our Droid Incredible.  We are experiencing poor battery life.  I take my phone off the charger at 130pm and by 5 pm it is in yellow.  We are also experiencing "low on space" warning when truly there is 500+ MB available!
We are also experiencing slow/no sync with Gmail.  We can manually sync it, but it doesn't seem to sync on it's own..
    Ken

After you reset did you try to use the device for a little without installing any apps to identify if the issue is related to a app possubaly...   Try booting into safe mode to see if it works better with apps disable..
Turn the power off. If your HTC DROID Incredible is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
    Hold the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button
You are now presented with a menuthat allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button
Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO
