Having 0.1Mb broadband is getting very annoying......

I have tried the usual ways of contacting BT re my broadband speed being similar to dial -up.  I e-mailed a complaint on 8th March as we hadn't had normal broadband speed for a number of days.  The download speed of 0.1Mb really was a shock.
I had heard nothing in response to my e-mail, so decided to try to telephone on 9th March and hoped I would not be put through to an Indian call centre.  Unfortunately, Anton was definitely from an Indian call centre.  I explained the problems and he assured me he would be able to help.  After all this he expalined he would carry out some tests and call me back in 10 mins.  He did this and told me he had found problems at their end.  He then asked me to monitor the broadband speed over the next 3 hours as the speed would slowly increase.  He said he would phone back at 10pm.
It took over an hour for there to actually be any broadband available.  Then the speed was still awful at exactly the same as before; 0.1Mb.  I waited all evening and finally gave up waiting for Anton to call me back.  I was awoken at 11.35pm with his call.  I told him the speed had not changed at all and he then told me he would phone the following day.  He said he would phone in the evening.  It is now the next day and nearly 9pm, needless to say there has been no phone call.
I am extremely fed up with BT now and wonder why I am being charged for broadband I am not getting.  I also chose to go back to BT for my calls and frankly I wish I hadn't bothered.  I shall be getting an address from this forum, as there seems to have been a few complaints, and will write to complain as this seems to be the only option left.

if you want you can post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run btspeedtester http://speedtester.bt.com and post the results.   
this will give something to compare against at end of 10 training.  it will also confirm the upgrade as modulation should now be 992.3/992.5
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

    Is she facetiming your phone number or email address, b/c email address should not do that.. Was there an old iPhone associated with your number or email?  I've seen texts show up on long "deactivated" devices..

    Ok, thanks that helps. I don't have an external hard drive though. What about backing up through 'the cloud'? I'm just wondering since my husband syncs his iPod to the PC through iTunes and he's worried that he will lose all the songs on his iPod if the library is lost from iTunes and he tries to 'sync' it up again. I'm not exactly sure how to  'copy the entire iTunes folder' either. I kinda suck at this unless I have step by step instructions, which I haven't found yet on iTunes help or other sources.
    The only way I know how to back anything up is by going back to a restore point, etc. (as stated before, we don't have an external hard drive.)

It has the option of "Continuing" or "stopping" the script When I click to Continue the same error keeps popping up all the time. Same as with clicking on the "Stop" the script option.   • Why doesn't my IPad purchases no longer transfer to my IPhone 4S.  I am really getting very annoyed with Apple and their products.

    I have never had issues with purchases made on my IPad or IPhone transferring to the other device.  Today, I purchased a song from ITunes on my IPad and it didn't transfer/sync to my IPhone 4S.  I tried syncing my phone on for the song on my MacBook Pro, and I got this crazy (and annoying) message stating I can't transfer the song for NINETY DAYS!  What did Apple do to ITunes and why?  I am getting so frustrated with Apple that if this continues, I will never again purchase another Apple product.

    There should be no reason you can't sync your itunes library to your iphone...
    Plug your phone into itunes... click on the iphone that is in the corner.. .it usually says your name... such as Lisa's iphone or whatever... then you will see some tabs such as... summary, music, videos, photos... on each one of those you need to check what you want to sync to your iphone. Once you check those boxes then click apply then scroll down and sync... do that one each section -photos, music etc...
    Apple doesn't want you to buy things over... that's why when you buy something trough itunes you can download it as many times as you want for life!

    I would follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue you're encountering with using the Pinterest app:
    1. Update your device software
    Update your device to the latest version of iOS.
    2. Check for app updates
    You can setup apps to update automatically in Settings > iTunes & App Store, but make sure that your apps are up to date:
    Open the App Store and tap Updates. If updates are available, tap Update All.
    If  prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information. App Store will then download and install the app updates.
    Note: Some apps may require a Wi-Fi connection to update.
    3. Install another app from the App Store
    If none of your user-installed apps will launch, there could be an issue with Apple ID authorization. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information. You can also remove an app from your iOS device and download it again from the App Store or sync the app from your computer.Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.

  • Getting Very Annoyed!

    Ok my system is watercooled and the whole nine yards. I have my 2 raptors on SATA 3/4 and I have my AGP at 67mhz and I confirmed it was locking the AGP/PCI. For some reason I cannot get anywhere past about 215fsb doesn't matter the HTT or Mutliplyer.
    I'm at a loss as to what is causing this. I just go this chip from Newegg yesterday.
    CPU-Z shows me revision DH7-CG , Model C , Stepping 0 .
    Any possible ideas would be great. Moving the Sata over to 1/2 is a total no go.

    2xWD Raptor Raid 0 hmm there might be the prob. if in sata1-2. peeps r getting a little better in 3-4 but if u change ur going have to resetup ur raid.
    at the mo this mobo don't like o/cing when raid is in the picture.
    or maybe cos temps r reporting wrong for ur newcastle chip, seeing it as really high the mobo don't like.

  • Email now asks for password every time I try to access it.  Getting very annoying

    All of a sudden I have to enter my email passwords each time I try to access my account.  I check the box that says save in Keychain access and it makes no difference.  Sometimes it asks for my password 3 or 4 times.

    I have been having internet issues on my 4s since I have updated to 7.0.4. Wish I never clicked OK but its too late to regret now!
    Wi-fi works as it should but when I am out without wi-fi, I still see 3G on top left corner but its sooo slow! I can not browse, have to wait forever for Instagram pics to upload! This is getting very annoying. I have read lots of answers on what to do to fix and tried them all out. Today I reset my iphone. Take a wild guess? Its still the same! Nothing is different!
    I am pretty sure its this latest update because until then it was working just great! No complaints! After 7.0.4, it just makes me wanna throw the phone away!
    I can not go to gym with enthusiasm because I can not listen to music on my Iphone! I can not watch my fave series! I feel miserable? Do I have to sit home to have internet? I bought this "smart" phone so I would have internet anytime and anywhere and access my apps anytime I want. Iphone means nothing to me now! Poor Steve (RIP) is probably crying out loud!
    Can someone please help me out? Do I have to downgrade and have it jailbrake? I do not wana do that!

    Okay so I have an HP windows 8 laptop and I've tried downloading itunes like 10 times and still nothing!! Everytime it downloads and gets ready to install I get a "error 2" message saying "Apple application support was not found" "Apple application support is required to run itunes.     I had the same problem with some apps and printer setup software. SInce Rosetta has been discontinued on Lion my only solution was to restore to 10.6 since the manufacturers either have not yet or will not release updated apps. In this case you have to determine how important those old PPC apps are to keep around and if there alternitives that are available to replace the functionality. I would expect a broadband provider to update thier apps if it is something that is required to connect.

  • I think there is a very annoying bug after the latest update of firefox, can I talk to someone, or chat with someone so I can get rid of it

    Since the latest auto update of my firefox browser I am experiencing strange issues. Every evening when I stop working, I close my browser (closing all the tabs that I am working on and in the morning, I restore the session) . For many years everything worked just fine ... untill after the last auto update of the firefox browser .. all of a sudden a got 302 errors ( a blank page with the description 302 and I believe "page moved here" or something to that extend ... i try to click the link and get nowhere.
    I first noticed it on a few wordpress pages (backend ) that I was working on and which were restored from the previous day ...
    thinking it was a server error, since we have several vps and dedicated servers .. i contacted the company who hosts our servers ..
    they looked into it and apparently .. there were no issues on the server side and neither on that particular computer ... but our server hosts told us .. that it is probably browser related and seemed to have something to with a bug with the cache of the browser
    we didn't know what to do .. it was very annoying .. but at that point it only happened once on a hew pages .. so we decided to see what happened the next time
    Next time we did not restore a session with wordpress pages .. but with the google search engine open and on a few other tabs logged into social media .... and as was saidn by our server hosts it was indeed not related to work that we did on pages on our servers ... since that time even the google search engine homepage ... showed us ... moved here
    Can you pease look into it and fix this .. we are doing the same thing as many years on the same computer also a few years .. so it is not anything we do wrong either .. it is most definitely browser related
    so can you please fix it asap .. since when we work on wordpress .. that is not the only thing that goes wrong .. we also have difficulty uploading updates ... when updating sometimes after the update of any particular change on a wordpress page is done ... we are also redirected to a blank page .. so the updated page does not want to load ... in that case we have use our back button ...
    which sends us back to the right page ... but with the old data on it ... then we have to refresh that page .. and only then we see the page updated ... so it seems that there is an issue in both direction with the caching of the browser after the last update

    uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
    ... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
    so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. I use firefox for so many, many years thta I deserve this kind of support .. thnx Robert

I've turned my computer on and off several times, but it persists. It's very annoying and I'm considering returning to Internet Explorer because of it.

    This is a known bug, and has been for years. It occurs when Firefox is your default browser and some glitch (or program) changes that default. Thankfully, there's a fairly easy fix, though it does involve monkeying around in the Registry.
    (Note: These instructions apply to Windows Vista and 7 only.)
    1. Click Start, type regedit, and then press Enter.
    2. Navigate to the following entry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxURL\shell\open\ddeexec
    3. In the center pane, double-click the Default entry, then remove whatever value is there (it'll probably be a weird string of numbers and commas).
    4. Click OK, then exit Regedit.
    5. If Outlook and/or Firefox are open, close them, then restart them.
