Having a Huge problem w/my Creative Zen Mi

Whenever i turn it on it doesn't go to my music or anything it goes straight to the creative picture. And then i take out?the battery to see if that would help and maybe go to the music but?it still goes to the creative picture. i have tried to reboot..that doesn't work. And then i tried to format and it'slike froze the screen. And then same w/clean up.ii believe the way that this?all happened was i wasn't listening to?music on it and?but it'swas on. And it'stried to shut?down and then like it shut?down but the screen i was on was still up but it was frozen. So i tried to turn it off but?that didn't work?so i took out the batteryi?hope someone can help me!! thank you?

Mine has the exact same problem! I have to drain the battery in order to access recovery/format mode and even when I try to use either, it freezes up. When it has a charge, it sticks to the screen that just says "Creative".
I haven't tried using it in a very long time, and had it packed away (it was doing this before packing it away), so all my software disappeared and cables. So tonight I decided to see if I could get it running, but it pooped out. I'm planning on finding a new USB cable and downloading the program and seeing if I can format it from the computer. I suggest you try the same.

I am having some huge problems with my colorspace settings. Every time I upload my raw files from my Canon 5D mark II or 6D the pics are perfect in color. That includes the back of my camera, the pic viewer on my macbook pro, and previews. They even look normal when I first open them in photoshop. I will edit, save, and then realize once i've sent it to myself to test the color is WAY off. This only happens in photoshop. I've read some forums and have tried different things, but it seems to be making it worse. PLEASE HELP! Even viewing the saved image on the mac's pic viewer is way off once i've edited in photoshop. I am having to adjust all my colors by emailing myself to test. Its just getting ridiculous.

Check the color space in camera raw, the options are in the link at the bottom of the dialog box. Then when saving make sure you save it to the srgb color space when sending to others. Not all programs understand color space and or will default to srgb. That won't necessarily mean it will be accurate, but it will put it in the ballpark. Using save for web will use the srgb color space.

PLEASE HELP - Serious problem with my Creative Zen Touch firmware

Ok, so I finally decided that I would upgrade to the latest firmware version for my Creative Zen Touch. I knew that doing so would erase everything on it, so I backed up everything onto my computer's hard dri've. So from that standpoint, I'm in the clear.
HOWEVER, during the upgrade process, my computer froze, leaving my precious MP3 player without ANY firmware. This then drove it into "recovery" mode, where I can either clean up, format, or reload firmware. I've gone through each of these options, but when I go to "reload firmware" my computer will no longer detect my Zen! I've tried reinstalling different driver versions, different firmware versions, etc. The bottom line now is that my mp3 player has no firmware, and my computer won't detect it.
I feel like I probably need to go back to the basics. Unfortuantely, I don't have my installation CD with me. Can anyone post the initial installation file please? Thanks in advance!
I really hope I can work this out, I don't know if I've gone a day without my Zen in the past two years!

Simon, this is actually a common problem with the touch. Mine did it about a year after purchase, so I was safe to open it up and fix it. It is actually a really simple fix and is due to a loose connector. I know alot of other people on nomadness.net were having this problem, so I posted a solution here. Hope this helps!

My Creative Zen V Plus keeps on freezing in the middle of songs on me!!!! On top of that my reset button isn't working....is there another way to shut it down?

ur microdri'ves screwy. i noticed that players that use those are having problems like the micro and microphoto and one of the damsung players and also other companies too. im guesssing that the microdri've wasa bad idea

Major problem with my Creative Zen Touch 20gb pla

I seem to be having some serious problems with my player - the scroll button no longer works, and the right-side buttons (Back, Play/Pause and Forward) all malfunction as well. The main issue is the scroll button - this no longer works at all, and without this function the player is essentially useless in all modes other than 'random' - as I cannot scroll down to choose songs by album, artist, genre etc. Even in 'random' mode, the functionality of the player is negligible - I cannot fast forward a track, as if I hold down the 'forward' button it automatically skips forward to new tracks without the chance to play one of them.
This is not the first time I've had a problem with this particular model - I've had complaints before on this forum about an earlier player I had (same model), a different problem but one that was never fixed - through my own error I misplaced the receipt and was unable to have the player fixed (it was within warranty at the time), so I had to pay ?50 for a replacement - to find that this player is now essentially broken as well has left me disgusted, in honesty. As if this wasn't enough, I actually experienced problems with my newer player almost from the off - the data folder malfunctioned, to the extent that files I'd placed in there were unable to be removed - eventually I had to format the player, not only losing important data from the data folder, but also experiencing the inconvience of having to spend many hours putting all my music back onto the player once it had been formatted. This was not a massi've issue, more a minor irritance, but again it's left me wondering what the problem is...is this model notoriously poor performance-wise? Three major errors on two separate players, two of them seemingly fatal to the use of the player, inside the space of just over a year is utterly ridiculous, I think.
At this point, I'd like to know what I can do to get a reimbursement on the cost of my current player, as opposed to a replacement - although I have found the performance of the Zen Touch 20gb to be generally very good, I'm not willing to put up with having each new replacement fail within a year of receiving it. I have lost all confidence in Creative providing me with a player I can rely on, to be honest.
If anyone could point me in the right direction with regards to finding out how I can go about receiving a refund on the price of my player, I'd be very grateful.

Problems with connection Creative zen M and DVD-CD pla

Hi,
I have problems whem i connect my zen to the DVD player. I've connected zen with a cable going from the headphones to the audio line in (red and white) at the back of the DVD system. I get sound but the problem is that my zen automaticly switch to the FM radio mode, when it should be playing from the music libary. This happens by 70% of the numbers. How can I deal with this problem?
Problem 2 is that I hear a strong noise when I connect my zen to the DVD player. It's al low sound which comes back in all the 5 boxes en sounds like a bee...
Problem 3 is that I can't get the full volume on the DVD system. Even when zen is max on 25 i've to put the DVD system also max before a normal sound is coming to me...

. The reason the ZVM is switching to fm radio is because the headphone jack also supports a wired remote that controls some of the ZVM functions there will be some sort of back feed from your DVD head unit to the ZVM causing this to happen.
2. The headphone jack does carry a bit of noise when used with line in applications and compared to the line out function of the ZVM is muffled and lacks power(this also could be noise in your DVD unit).
3. Same as above(2) the A/V out function has a set volume and is louder and much clearer than the headphone out jack.( The line out is the A/V out function of the ZVM found in the supplied adaptor that plugs into the bottom of the ZVM)
To overcome this problem simply use the line out function of the ZVM either through the dongle and an A/V cable or get an after market cable to suit and that should solve your problems with this type application.

und zwar habe ich einen Creative ZEN Player mit 4 GB. Bis vor kurzem lief noch alles normal. Jedoch als ich gestern meinen ZEN player anschlie?en wollte um noch etwas Musik drauf zu laden, kam ein fehler, von wegen es gebe ein Firmware Problem. Ich hatte mir dann auf eurer Seite die neuste Firmware herunter geladen, jedoch hie? es dann immer, wenn ich etwas auf den ZEN player machen wollte, ich darf nicht darauf lesen bzw. davon etwas lesen. Wenn ich mein ZEN player anstelle, dann kommt eine "Firmware Problem" Meldung und ich komme ins Recovery Mode. Da kann ich dann zwar Clean UP, Format All, Reload Firmware und Reboot machen, jedoch bringt das alles nix.

Since today he gets stuck if "<EM>Zen Touch</EM>" on the screen appears. Put back nothing brings, he gets stuck further there at the same place. My computer does not recognize him and charge nothing also brings.

Hi, I get sometimes the same problem, try to turn on in recovery mode & clean up:
Go to www.creative.com -> support -> knowledge base ->and select you player, & search: "Recovery Mode: What to Do And How To Access"
& follow the instructions.
I cleaned up my player, but this action erased my songs. So,back up your files before do this.

Having a huge problem getting photos out of kalleri into photo shop touch

A problem with a creative Zen Touch 20

My creative zen touch now almost always has the battery indicator that says that it is using outside power, even when it is completely disconnected from outside power. The only time that it sometimes does not have that as its battery indicator is when im charging it from the non-usb power adapter. Then it shows the normal charging icon. This is very irritating because i can never tell how much batter my Touch has left.

Suddenly I am having a HUGE problem with slow response.

Thunderbird has worked like a charm for over a year. Now, all of a sudden, it keeps hanging up when I try to write or send an email. I haven't changed my anti-virus software which is MS Defender. I can't think of anything else I could have done to cause the problem. For a while, I couldn't open MS Word attachments. That seems to be solved now for some unknown reason. I really like this email program when it works, but I need more dependability. Is anyone else having this problem?

you seem to want to get an uploaded file using FileUpload. Did you see the user guide on how to do this? You seem to be going about it in completely the wrong way.

Having a HUGE problem

I have a large amount of movies that were backed up using Cleaner 6. They were exported out as mpg 2 for dvd. Here is the problem: dvd studio sees the file, parses the file (green dot an everything) but as soon as I click the file the rainbow wheel pops up and never goes away. I also tried de-muxing the clips and importing them as m2v but the same thing happens. Anyone else experience this? Any one know what I am doing wrong?

Your files need to be 640 x 480 for the video. They also have to be DVD compliant MPEG2 strems. They can have the extension .m2v, .mpeg, .mpg, etc.
But the audio HAS to be separate in order to import those files into DVD SP.
The audio can be AIF or WAV (48khz, 16 bit stereo)
or Dolby Digital (.ac3)
You can try to use programs like DIVA to convert the MPEG2 stream back to a .mov file (works really fast), then extract the audio and use the audio to put it into FCP and export it back out. Then use Compressor or something to encode it again.
This isnt the best quality, but it might help.
How big are the files?
Send me the smallest file.
There is usually a way to convert ANY MPEG stream to something else.
What programs are you using?

A problem with my Creative Zen Xtra and Mediasou

When I play music off of my Zen on my computer through Mediasource, sometimes Mediasource will close down out of nowhere and will not reopen unless I restart my computer. I have the most updated version of the Zen's driver and everything.
Does anyone know what could be going on here and if so, how do I fix this issue?
