Having a problem after re-install my macbook

I am having problem with my macbook.
I had both window and OS 10.4 on my macbook, and I was planning to make it back into a single system with just OS on it. However, I did it kind of backward, I put in the install disc and have a new OS on the Mac side of the Hard drive and the other half (which is with window) is still hanging there.
I had read some of the other posting, and try to repartition it in Disk Utility, but it would let me do it.
I'm wondering if there are anyway so I can make it back into just only the OS system with all 80 GB of my HD.

If you used Boot Camp Assistant to partition the hard drive, try opening it again, and click through until you get the option to create or remove a Windows partition, and when you get to that menu, click restore to delete the Windows partition.

    Hello,

    Main Problem ->
When I gone to my own site, I was not able to see some images, I mean some of those which uses CSS cropping technique. (I don't know how much you guyz will understand this :P)
But it was working correctly with Chrome, but after I installed MSE, my browsing/downloading speed become very low in both.
The following are some Pic, 1 of them are snapped chrome and 1 is mozilla..

I installed iOS 5.0.1 on my Iphone 3GS. I never can not write in my calendar. Anyone else having this problem after their upgrade?

I was going to suggest - Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings, but if you are restoring to factory settings, that should restore the settings back to factory defaults. But if you are restoring from a backup, after restoring to factory settings, try resetting all of the settings and see if that fixes it.
It might be something in your backup.

  • Hi im having huge problems trying to install flash for my mac 10.5 imac, iv gone through the internet and tried all of the solutions, everytime i try to install flash it says cant read the download file, or it just wont install, anybody plz help!

hi im having huge problems trying to install flash for my mac 10.5 imac, iv gone through the internet and tried all of the solutions, everytime i try to install flash it says cant read the download file, or it just wont install, anybody plz help!
iv unistalled flash, iv checked plug ins it just wont work,

It would have been a great help to know precisely what Mac you have, so some of the following may not apply:
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
(If you are running Mavericks: After years of fighting malware and exploits facilitated through Adobe's Flash Player, the company is taking advantage of Apple's new App Sandbox feature to restrict malicious code from running outside of Safari in OS X Mavericks.)
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
You can also try these illustrated instructions from C F McBlob to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44:  Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, try the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the version 11.5.502.55:)
Download this http://scriptogr.am/nordkril/post/adobe-flash-11.5-for-powerpc to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • No Battery Charge and Other Problems After OS3 Install - Solution?

This relates ONLY to iPhone Users using the "PUSH" Function for Email or Other Apps!
PROBLEM: It seems as though Apple is at least aware of the problem(s), i.e. once Exchange Email or another App using PUSH is configured, there is an OS3 bug that seems to be hardware independent (impacting ALL 1G, 2G and GS iPhones, but not consistently).
SYMPTOMS: Include some or all of the following . . . rapid discharge (less than two hours from a fully charged phone, failure to charge (by AC adapter or USB to computer), failure to charge completely, perpetual dead battery icon, inability to boot, inability to automatically sleep, quite warm on upper back side, slow email, indication of a full or partially full charge dropping to no charge or dead when removed from charging source.
CAUSE: OS3 Bug prevents consistent charging, draining the battery even when plugged in to a computer via the USB or into an A/C adapter (although I've been able to intermittently charge on an A/C adapter). In push mode, the Exchange email client on the iPhone continually queries the Exchange Server, cycling the iPhone CPU and continually draining the battery at a high rate (can
WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD BY APPLE:
    1) Defective Hardware (though I'm on my third 3G in a week, so I don't think hardware is the problem . . . Apple will consider replacement with a new 3G if my third 3G has the same problem)
    2) Corrupted App in iTunes - so I manually reloaded each app directly over wi-fi, one app at a time, this worked until I configured Exchange Email, at which time symptoms immediately appeared . . . so corrupted app unlikely.
    3) Initial data transfer after email configuration . . . but symptoms continued long after this.
    4) Wi-Fi - but turning wi-fi on or off had little effect, beyond normal.
    5) Restore to New Phone - this works fine UNTIL Exchange Email is configured and activated. Thus, the time consuming practice of reload all apps, photos, music, etc. will be for naught, once exchange email is turned on with "push"
SOLUTION: Turning off "push" on your exchange email account
    1) Go to Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calendars - Fetch New Data
    2) Set Fetch Setting to 15 minutes to approximate the much more frequent "push" uploads and downloads. NOTE: Turning off \"push\" at this level will NOT turn off push on your exchange email account and the problem will not be resolved
    3) Scroll down and select - Advanced -
    4) Identify and select your Exchange Server account
    5) Select - Fetch -
    6) Leave settings
Phone should cool down in a few minutes and work normally. The problem can be replicated and resolved repeatedly merely by toggling "push" on and off in your exchange email configuration.
I was told that this is likely to be the "fix" until a patch is issued. No time frame was given for an actual fix that allows Exchange users to use push technology. Disappointing, since broader use of "push" technology beyond exchange was one of the big benefits of OS 3.0.
NOTE: THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT OCCUR ON ALL iPHONES WITH OS3 USING THE EXCHANGE CLIENT. I have second 3G phone, identically configured (including push to exchange email) that has no symptoms at all. Go figure.

Since two days ago, my battery indicator has been indicating 100% until the phone dies, which seems to be one of the symptoms you're describing.
However, I don't use Push emails; my email client is configured to poll an imap server and has been that way since I got my phone over 6 months ago. To be on the safe side, I turned off Push anyway, but I'm still having the problem. Definitely 3.0 related as I've never had this problem before.
Perhaps it's linked to an app? Personally I don't have a whole lot of them installed: Aurora Feint, fstream, twitterific, flixster, wikipanion, google earth, urbanspoon, STM Mobile, iDicto, Air Sharing, Facebook and Apple Remote. I've removed a few and will see how it goes.

  • Problems After Re-Installing And Archive

After having a problem with a couple of applications in Final Cut Studio(Primarily Compressor), it was suggested to re-install Tiger and and archive, as that worked for others. Now, every other start up, the screen shows the multi-language "Welcome" at the beginning of configuring a new installation. When I get the reular start up, it says "Transport Monitor Application Did Not Launch Because Of Shared Library Error." Do I need to find the old system and toss it? It would be nice to find out what's going on before trying another installation. Any help is appreciated.

Transport Monitor is a login item that is normally found in the /Library/Palm/ folder. The contents of the /Library/ folder are not transferred during an Archive and Install. They must be moved manually from the Previous System Folder. If you are no longer using Palm software then open the Accounts preferences, click on Login Items tab, and delete the Transport Monitor item from the list.

  • Imac G5 Sound problems after Leopard install

Hi All, This is my first post and I hope someone can help. I have just installed Leopard and on restart I now have no sound on any applications. I am also having some problems with my Netgear wireless router as the wireless card drops the connection on ocassions.

I am having the same problem but it's periodic. One day I went to work with some video and there was no sound so I hit the sound button on my powerbook, assuming I just had the sound turned off and the icon came up on my screen with the universal cicle with a slash through it indicating no sound. It was like this for a couple fo days and then all the sudden one morning my laptop "spoke up" by telling me the time. It has done that 2 additional times since there.
Any ideas why? It never did this prior to Leopard.

  • Still having data problems after all the fixes. Should I wait to return?

Hi there, I've had the Thunderbolt for about a week now.  I've been having the data connection problems like everyone else, especially right after I end Internet Connection Mode.
I did all the fixes, like factory reset, dialing the *#*#4636#*#* and the ##778 options, but to no avail.  I can only guess it's the network that's having problems.  I live in Spokane, WA and I know that they're probably testing out 4G in the area, so this might be the reason why the phone may be having connection problems.
But what should I do?  What will happen when 4G turns on and yet my phone still has the connection problems?  Will I be out of luck, since I'll be out of my 14 day return window?  Overall, I still like the phone, but I don't want to keep it if there's somthing wrong with the phone itself.

i also had data issues, i called them but they said the sim card is fine. I'm still having alot of issues here to the point where im contemplating getting the iPhone 4
I'm sure they did say it was fine and in that techs opinion it might be but that tech or csr might not have the proper training or knowledge of what you or HTC is asking them to do. Example: I called and told them to reprovision my sim card and the first tech I got then instructed me on how to clear my cache and internet history. So I called HTC back and they told me "no that is not a sim card reprovision and to insist that a tech do the procedure". So I called vzw tech support again and requested the same thing " reprovision the sim card " and what do you know the tech said ok no problem.
If they do what your asking they will have you power down the device > remove the battery > pull the sim card out > wait > then reinstall everything > and power up the device. After that they might have you check a few settings and your done.
So don't let a CSR that doesn't know how to address this issue give you bad feelings toward your Thunderbolt. I will admit that at first I was a little upset about the issues I was having and started to think I was going to have to deal with it till the next 4G device that I would consider a reputable replacement came out ( cause I won't go to an Iphone ever ). Now that I've had my T-Bolt for a few weeks you can't take it away from me. My issues with it have dwindled and my love for it has sky rocketed.
But if you want to jump ship for a 3G, tiny screened, locked down, no widget, pay for everything, itunes, update via usb, soon to be / already out dated, expensive device then more power to ya. In few months when updates roll out and when gingerbread becomes available for the T-Bolt you'll be looking over the shoulders of those that stuck with it and say " I wish my phone could do that ". lol I kid but seriously stick to your guns and demand VZW to the reprovision because if it does for you what it did to my T-Bolt you will regain confidence and love this device.

  • Fan  problem after Leopard install

PowerMac Dual G5 - after Leopard install, fan between hard drive and optical drive revved up like the computer was going to blast off, faster and faster until I powered down by holding down the power button. Leopard seems to be working fine, but with the fan continuing to go at high speed at all times. I've tried reboot, reinstall, pull plug for a few minutes, remove CMOS battery, and zap PRAM, all to no avail. I haven't put the panel cover back on yet, and that may work, but I won't have time to mess with it for a few days and hope for some insight before I try that.Ideas?

Problem went away. Must have been a ghost in the machine.

  • Apple ID problem after Mavericks install

    Hello Everyone,
After upgrading to Mavericks I tried to read one of my books in ibooks, and after signing in with my apple id I received a notification with the following error "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID." The book was originally bought and downloaded on my iPad, but I cannot download them on my Mac. I also get the same error in iTunes when I try to play/download a song from the cloud.
I managed to get the book after syncronizing my iOS devices, but I was wondering if anyone encountered this.

Now that I think about it, this started happening after I installed iTunes 11

I uploaded the new software into our 4 iphone 4's. Two of them have no problem and are working fine. The other 2 keep searching for signal. They will show 4-5 bars and all of a sudden say "searching" for about 7-8 seconds, then show the bars again. We have tried restaring the phones several times and nothing. Our carrier is AT&T. • Problem booting Arch after first install on MacBook Pro

    Hi all,
I've spent the past month intermittently trying to install Arch on an old MacBook Pro with a broken screen running in clamshell mode (I've reformatted, clean installed OSX, and run pacstrap around 20 times now). I was originally trying to install Debian, but the Arch Wiki was so good that I switched. The issue has been the same anyway.
Every time I try to install, I get stuck at the bootloader stage, where I need to make the installation bootable. It doesn't matter what bootloader method I use, since I've tried:
Boot from /boot partition with GRUB
Boot from separate HFS+ GRUB partition
Boot from Apple EFI System Partition (ESP) with GRUB
    Boot with rEFInd
Boot with rEFInd installed to the ESP
Arch itself works fine, but when I go to boot from rEFInd's autodetected vmlinuz-linux from 128MiB ext2 partition, I get the same error message I've gotten with every other configuration:

    :: running hook [udev]

When the Arch .iso live CD boots, it gets the first uhci_hcd errors, and then just moves on with:

    :: hook [archiso]
    [etc.]
Here are the contents of my refind.conf file (/boot/efi/ESP/refind/refind.conf) (I omit all the standard comments):
    timeout 0
    scan_all_linux_kernels
[The example menu entries - all disabled]
    menuentry "Arch Linux" {
    icon /EFI/refind/icons/os_arch.icns
    "Arch Boot"
    loader /vmlinuz-linux
    initrd /initramfs-linux.img
    options "root=/dev/sda7 rw rootfstype=ext4"
    And my refind_linux.conf (/boot/refind-linux.conf):
"Boot with standard options" "ro root=2b121a89-aeb9-430a-8e6c-a05b79f08427"
"Boot to single-user mode" "ro root=2b121a89-aeb9-430a-8e6c-a05b79f08427 single"
"Boot with minimal options" "ro root=2b121a89-aeb9-430a-8e6c-a05b79f08427"
My custom menu entry for Arch doesn't work either (I'm still researching exactly why). I've been quite confused by different posts all over by different people on how to configure the manual refind.conf stanzas. I also tried a direct to root menu entry, where I tried the files as /boot/vmlinuz-linux, etc.
The error I always get here is the same:
    Starting vmlinuz-linux
Using load options "[same as above]"
    Invalid loader file!
Error: Not Found while loading vmlinuz-linux
I've installed GRUB as well, just to be sure. Although I haven't moved it to any other partitions or 'blessed' it in OS X. (I have blessed the HFS+/EFI partitions when I used GRUB.)
Just FYI, I've used the following pages as guides:
My primary guide: Cody Littlewood's installation procedure for a MacBook Pro
The Arch Wiki MacBook Page, which was useful but a bit confusing and self-referential on the Bootloader section
The rEFInd website, by Rod Smith. I've read it fairly extensively (including an interesting comparison of SodaStream flavours)
A Gentoo Wiki page with a rEFInd example
The LFS GRUB chapter, and surrounding material
And I've largely read the Arch Wiki Beginners' Guide, Bootloaders page, GRUB page, GRUB EFI examples page, UEFI page and EFI Stub Loader page.
There have been others, but it's been a while since I read them. I've been trying to make this work for a while.
I've also looked at some other posts on similar subjects:
A post on the Arch Linux subreddit matching my (previous; with GRUB) situation, but not fixing my problem
An Arch forum post, of which there have been others, but google seems to have changed my search results.
EFI-Booting Ubuntu on a Mac, by Rod Smith
    The Debian MacBook Pro page
A post about booting Debian without rEFIt
Again, there are more, but I can't find them all just now.
I've looked EVERYWHERE for a solution.
My question is, does anyone have any ideas on how I might make my computer bootable?
    Almost forgot; I've run
    mkinitcpio -p linux
successfully (I get the two driver warnings that seem to be standard).
