Having a problem installing flash

I tried to to install flash pro to my laptop (mac) it's
already on my MacPro only I keep getting this message; Adobe flash
cs3 already installed to remove use original installer!
I had tried the trial version a while ago and it ran out.
I pulled that software out, or so I thought!
I also tried using the "uninstall player" downloaded from
here!
Nothing seems to be working and I Would appreciate any
suggestions
Thanks Gary

thanks dz and cl! Yes, I tried it all to no avail, even the
erase process you mentioned dz
http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.ht
in hindsight it was a somewhat frustratingly amusing (now there's a
contradiction) process (only in hindsight) option 1 n/g option 2 it
asked to type in my password huh, it just would not except the
type.
So, I decided my i-book is about 4 years old, time for a tune
up so I erased and reloaded it shioot (changed my mind). First
program in was Flash etc etc it runs like a dream, got an extra 10
gigs then I took out all the languages another 2.5 gigs. Hey are
there any programs out there for deleting unnecessary languages on
macs, that is really time consuming and a pain in the place where
the sun don't shine.
it was a rough road and I'd like to thank you both for your
help.

  • Having a problem installing Flash Player 11.8

Every time I try to install the latest version (11.8), an error message comes up and it says "Cannot Connect to Reliable Source." The installation gets to 47% and then stops. What does this mean? I've done the trouble shooting stuff like going into options in Firefox and Enabling Java Scripts, and I've also uninstalled the 11.7 version, but it still doesn't work. Can anyone help?
My computer is running on Windows 7 and it is a 64 bit. Also my browser is Firefox.
Thanks for any help ahead of time!

Download the "offline Installer" and run it with Firefox closed. Should take care of it.

  • Newbie problems installing Flash 11 and windows 7/SWF issues-PLEASE HELP!

I am VERY new at Dreamweaver (llike four days in) - my church has a website & they need someone to take it over so I'm trying to help out while teaching myself something new.
I was doing okay til now. I downloaded a free template to play with so as not to mess up their real site just yet. I was able to get the majority of the site up except for the top part with flash. Error message says: "this page contains some SWF objects that may not work properly in the most recent versions of IE. Dreamweaver cannot convert them to SWF markups. Please delete each of them and insert again" This mesage comes up on the index.html, index-1.html, and index-2.html pages.
I deleted & re-typed everything that had an SWF in it (then realized maybe I only needed to do the ones with the .swf extension, duh on me!) but I'm still getting a gray box with the "f" inside.
Additionally, I keep having to re-install Flash because it says I have to use version 10 or higher - the browserlab worked during the online lessons offered by Adobe, but now it won't work at all! I installed Flash 11 more times than I can count but it still won't work, yet when I go to my Programs flash it's installed twice - once as a 64 bit and once without. I'm assuming one of those can go.
I'm familiar with HTML and have created smaller websites using templates on sites like Yahoo Business, Wix and Office Live and thought I could handle this, but it's really stumping me, thought there'd be a learning curve and trial/error but WOW! Much respect to all you web designers out there, this stuff is no joke!
If anyone could please help me fix this problem and dumb your answer down as much as possible cuz I'm admittedly very lost! I'm worried that I'll have the same problem with the church site because they want some flash aspects. Did several internet searches & couldn't decipher the programmer jargon, nor could figure out if I was doing the suggested fixes correctly.
Thanks in advance for the help from anyone! I have a brand new computer, dell xps15 only 3 weeks old, so it's not the computer!

FYI:  Dreamweaver questions are better answered in DW's General Discussion Forum.
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/dreamweaver/dreamweaver_general?view=discussions
Older versions of DW used an Active-X JavaScript to initialize Flash in IE browsers.  Adobe later switched to a different script in CS4 and again in CS5 and CS5.5 which uses SWF Object Replacement.  I suspect your Template was made with an older version of Flash & DW which is why you're getting the nag screens.
Option 1:   Preview the original template pages in browsers.  If it works,  ignore the DW error messages.
Option 2:  Rebuild the Template by stripping all Flash object and embed code and removing links to any Flash supporting scripts.  Then re-insert your media.  Insert > Media > Flash...

I am experienceing problems installing flash player. I go to the adobe website and install the program and I am told it has been successfully  installed. No flash player  icon apppears on my desktop. When I press the windows start icon and click on "all programs" there is no evidence of the flash player. I am using windows Vista. I am also using Kaspsersky Internet security. It is a private computetr so I do not think  I need administrators permission.  I have tried installing flash player using both interner explorer and Mozilla firefox. Please can anyone help. Many thanks.

Shane, since you must be having problems getting a thread started, I'll just go ahead and try to help you here.
Use IE and go to Help and click on About Internet Explorer. It should tell you sp1 or sp2.
Also using IE, go to Tools, click on Manage add ons and look in all add ons for Shockwave Flash Object. Let me know if it is Enabled and if it is version 10.0.45.2 or says Flash10e.ocx.
Then switch over to FF (Firefox) and find the plug-in SWF version 10.0.45.2 and make sure it is listed and Enabled.
Post this info back to me.
    Thanks,

I have been into computers for about 25 years now and it really ticks me off that after all these years these companys can not put out something that works. It seems like they put it out then expect the buyer to fix there screw ups. Why should we have to do there jobs and have to pay for it too?

  • I am having a problem installing the updated version 10.3.1.55 on my laptop.

I am having a problem installing the updated version of Itunes 10.3.1.55 on my laptop which uses Windows XP operating system. I have download the software from Apple's website and have successfully installed it. However, when I launch Itunes I get an error message "Itunes was not installed correctly" "error 7 (windows error 999)". I have uninstalled the software, deleted all associated files, and reinstalled the software, but I am still having the same problem. I did not have any issues with the older version of Itunes. Does any one have a work around for this problem, or how can I download the old version I was using?

    Hi all,
Sylonious, did you manage to sort this problem out? I have been experiencing similar problems. I think my problem was because I had many different versions of JDKs. I have done a complete re-install. I would be really grateful to you (and anyone else) for help with this problem.
I have re-installed JSDK1.4.2_03, set the "path" variable to "C:\JSDK1.4.2_03".
When I compile using "javac" I get an error saying "javac" is not recognised.
When I compile using "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\bin\javac Freq.java" no error is thrown.
Every time I try to run a java file, I always get the NoClassDefFound error. When run with the -verbose option, files are loaded from C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin - is this correct?
I have removed all previous references to java in the registry editor.
    Please help !
    Regards,

  • Problem installing Flash

I am having three problems with Adobe Flash and would like some assistance in resolving them.
    1)  Problem number ONE:  Several months ago installing an antivirus program broke my Internet Explorer.  All attempts to fix or upgrade IE have failed.  Nothing short of a reinstall of Windows is likely to fix this, and I do not intend to undertake a Windows reinstall at the present time.  But whenever Flash wants to upgrade itself it insists on launching IE, which, as it always fails to load, leaves me unable to automatically update Flash.
    2)  Problem number TWO:  In order to install the latest version of Adobe Flash I went to the page called "Install a Different Version of Adobe" and downloaded the version designated for Windows XP for "Flash Player 11 for other browsers".
The first time I downloaded it and double-clicked on it a window popped up saying the file was corrupt or something of that sort.  I then downloaded it a second time, allowing my download manager to overwrite the first copy.  When I double-clicked on it the file simply vanished off my desktop.  Pooff!  When I went into my download manager and told it to open the containing folder it said, "File does not exist or has been moved."  I then performed a search for the file named "install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe" downloaded from http://aihdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe and found three copies of it in C:\Documents and Settings\PC User\Local Settings\Temp, but double-clicking on it appears to do nothing and when I go to the Adobe site to check which version I have installed it still says, "Sorry, your computer does not have the latest Flash Player installed. Please go to step 2.  (Your version:11.7.700.224 Latest Version:11.8.800.94)."  I now have FOUR copies of the above mentioned file in C:\Documents and Settings\PC User\Local Settings\Temp, all having vanished off my desktop each time I double-clicked on them.  If I copy the file and move it back to my desktop it simply vanishes again each time I double-click it.  It refuses to open and let me run it as per instructions on your web site.
    3)  Problem number THREE:  Because I have a dial up Internet connection I rarely attempt to view YouTube videos.  However recently I downloaded and installed a new download manager with a built-in accelerator which lets me save YouTube videos to my hard drive and convert them to my preferred video format.  I have downloaded and saved a total of three YouTube videos and each and every one of them has NO SOUND!  I've googled the problem and found dozens of posts complaining about the same problem with downloaded videos, but have found no definitive solution.  I was excited with the prospect of finally being able to view some of the YouTube links I frequently receive from my friends, only to be stymied with having so sound.
At this point I am an extremely unhappy camper.  Please help.
    Tristan_6
P.S.:  By the way, as I mentioned, I'm on a dial up connection and for four days have been fruitlessly trying to create an account at your web site.  In spite of dozens of tries the "Create an Account" button would not load.  Finally had to go to a friend's hour to sign up for an account and post this.

    1. You can Repair IE http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378
    2.Download the Flash Uninstaller
    uninstaller (797 KB)
Run it to fully uninstall Flash Player.
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking one (or both) of the following links and selecting "Save target as"(IE) or "Save link as"(other browsers).
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save the file(s) to your downloads fodler.
    Reboot.
Before running anything else, open the downloads folder and run the installer(s).

  • Problem installing Flash on to Mac Serious!

    Hi all,
It's been a really bad few days now. I'm running Firefox 5.0.1 on an Mac OS X 10.5.8 and have recently don't my software update etc... had a small problem with a disapearing dock but nothing major and now like everyone else have been asked to download the new Flash.
So I download it from the offical site it does its thing. when I get the install icon I click it, it asks me to accept all the rules etc... so I do nd then it asks me to close browser do that then it installs.....but it doesnt really install as when i go back on the internet I'm asked to install flash.
    I have already:
uninstalled and install a gizzillion times shutting down and all, have searched my activity monitor have checked in with my disk utility have emptied trash and deleted unwanted plists and now I am well and truelly bemused.
Please please help I need a genius I think.
    cheers

    Hello Ffrrogy,
I may not be the person to give you any useful suggestions since I have a different serious problem with Flash and Safari 5.1 that I can't solve.  However, since no one else has replied to your problem, I'll offer one suggestion:
You can begin by checking to see if the Flash Player got downloaded into the correct location on your hard drive.  Via the Finder, look in:
HardDrive (typically called Macintosh HD - but not your personal user area that probably has your name) --> Library ---> Internet Plug-Ins
In the Internet Plug-Ins folder should be a file named "Flash Player.plugin"
(Note, there is another Library in your personal area that is different from the one in the HD area.  I don't know if Safari would find the plug-in if it were in your personal library.)
If the file is in the Internet Plug-Ins folder then double check your preferences in Safari.  Under Security, be sure that plug-ins are enabled.  If plug-ins are't enabled the Flash Player you downloaded won't be loaded into Safari when you open that application and thus when you visit a site with Flash content, you'll get the message to download the Flash Player.
By the way, I'm assuming that Flash was working in your Safari browser at some earlier point in time.  Also, if you have Firefox, you might see if Flash is working there.
But if your problem isn't with plug-ins not loading then...

  • Problem installing flash player with I.E

Whilst surfing around the internet this morning I vaguely remember getting a message about needing an adobe flash player update shortly followed by my browser crashing. I didn't think much more of it but from this afternoon onwards I discovered that almost every website i visited would throw up a "This website wants to run the Following add-on: 'Adobe Flash Player' from 'Adobe System Incorporation'. If you trust the website and the following add-on and want to allow it to run, Click Here..." message at the top of the page.
I tried resetting Internet Explorer 8's security settings to default (i think they were default anyway) but this made no difference. I went to the adobe website to attempt to install the latest flash player but every time i went to the installation page it would refresh itself after about 5 seconds with a "This tab has been recovered. A problem with this web page caused Internet Explorer to close and reopen the tab" message at the top of the page. The page would then refresh again, this time ending up with a "We were unable to return you to adobe.com. Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website." error page.
In an effort to resolve these problems I uninstalled adobe flash player using the adobe uninstaller (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html), rebooted my computer and attempted to install the flash player again. Once again I couldn't install it with my attempts again ending up at the "We were unable to return you to adobe.com. Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website." error page.
I just tried downloading the Firefox browser and have had no problem installing and using the adobe flash player so I am guessing the problem is some sort of issue between adobe and internet explorer- any solutions?
    Thanks :-)

Hi, You didn't say what version of IE you are using, but most likely IE7 or IE8. It's some option in the browser I'm sure.
Since you ran the Uninstaller, and it Uninstalls all Flash Player from All browsers, try this Adobe Installer that you will download and SAVE to your Desktop. Then close all browsers, keep your Security setting on Medium for the Internet Zone, be sure to use the Administrator account(only one that has permission). Check your system tray (area by the clock) and disable any application that uses Flash, as Messenger services.
Run the Installer from your Desktop and when it is finished, be sure to Reboot(restart) your computer.
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
    Then test here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
Check your websites to see if they are working properly.
    Thanks,
