First question: this is a Captivate forum, are you sure that you have a Captivate problem (with cpvc or an imported video)?

I was running Firefox 5 and have been able to protect it against new versions, but now I am not being warned that there is a new version being snuck in without telling me about it.
The problem is that I work in a virtual call center from home, and the new version is creating problems I never had before.
Is there a way you can supply me with a link to FF5, and how do I protect it against new versions being installed on my machine. This is extremely important as I earn my living from the call center.

When searching through a website, covering many pages of information, sometimes you just want to jump back to a page.
Using the little dow arrow was a handy way to see where you have been and to jump multiple steps/pages backwards without continuing to click back, back, back, until finally reaching where you were. I really use it a lot and am hoping you will either restore it or provide me with a new way to do the same thing.

MaggieThe arrow to open the tab history of the Back and Forward buttons has been removed in Firefox 4 and later.
Use one of these methods to open the tab history list:
* Right click on the Back or Forward button
* Hold down the left mouse button on the enabled Back or Forward button until the list opens

I have used IE and Chome and both I get my igoogle page with the theme I have selected. I use to get Firefox with my theme on it. Then it changed and I could not. I contacted you, I went per instructions and deleted cookies, cache etc. and followed directions. Something I did worked. Now it is gone again. I followed some other question answers and put setup for Firefox 4.0.1 and then deleted Mozilla and then re-installed. That did not work. Now I am reading about Avast Webrep and all these other brainy people's answers which worked for them but I don't even know where to find these and I have not Firefox button or ability to go to extensions. I am so tired of this that I went back, downloaded IE 9 and Google Chrome. I got the theme on both again, even though I had completely uninstalled them as I was going to be a Mozilla person. Well now I just don't know and it has happened twice and I don't know how I fixed it to begin with.
I suggest you to upgrade Firefox to version 7 and post back to us

2.1 update: Does not sound when checking email, can you please assist?
Not sure if this was already posted, so I'm sorry in advance. But when I'm checking my emails, I don't get the tone/vibration for new incoming emails anymore after the 2.1 update from what I noticed. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? or is this just an isolated issue that is happening?

My apple id and icloud account merge together, i want to delete my icloud account because of some problems on name so i want to change name or delete my icloud account .

Once it is attached to an AppleID it is attached forever.
You can edit the name on your iCloud account or setup an email alias if you made a mistake with the email address. -
I've tried unplugging everything but it hasn't helped. Sometimes get an error message saying it was not turned off properly. Operating system is 10. something - not sure without turning it on!

Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.
(Space between fsck AND -fy important).
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck...

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.) -

does not seem particularly specific – do you want to simply combine two images as they are, do you want to clip elements from the one and insert them into the other, …?

HAVING A PROBLEM WHEN I PRINT A WEB PAGE WHICH IS MORE THAT ONE PAGE LONG. ONLY THE FIRST PAGE PRINTS TO SCALE...THE REMAINING PAGES PRINT OFF THE PAGE????HELP-IT IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM WITH FIREFOX BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAPPEN WITH SAFARI??Thank you for the response. I tried to fix the problem with some of the suggestions on that page, but none seem to work. I believe that is the only website that I'm having that problem on. I got to fooling with it a bit more and when I highlight the whole page and select to print the selected area, it actually prints the whole page then, but it won't do it as a default. I guess I can just do it like that from now on, but I thought there would be something in the settings that I could have changed. Thanks again for the help.

I am having a problem when I try to select a photo or itunes song in Imovie or other programs. I get a window with grey lettering that says: "Open Itunes to populate this list" or "Open iphoto to see photos from your iPhoto library in this list. I have tried relaunching programs and nothing appears. Seemed to start happening a while back after one of my system upgrades.
After a a lengthy conversation with Apple Tech. ($20), my problem seems to be solves. The Iphoto problem solved by trashing the plist file. The Itunes was more involved. We had to create a new Itunes folder and import the files into the new folder; and then import the playlists.

I downloaded the 09 version without deleting the 08 (didn't know), and now I am having some problems : when I open a document, it opens with 09, and then when I try to re-open it with 08 it is not possible ! I have a message saying tha "the fichier index xml is absent" (my computer is in French. I want to work with pages 08 until I get familiar with the 09 version. What shall I do ? What does this happen?
Once you open the files in the new version you can't open them in the old version. Pick one version to use (have to be 9 now as you already have converted files)
