Having Color Issues In LR5.3 for Olympus E-M1?

Hello,
I recently updated from LR5.2 -> LR5.3 and had processed a batch of Olympus E-M1 RAW photos to my liking using the previous version.  Now in LR5.3, there is a definite color profile change when I view the same photo in the Library vs. Develop modules.  The Library version appears to be the "correct" one and the Develop versions have a much warmer/yellowish tint and/or different saturation levels.  This occurs at full size so it is not a preview rendering issue, nor is it a monitor calibration issue.  I see in the release notes that there were changes made to the E-M1 profiles and suspect it may be related.
- Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
- How can I retain the color profile used in LR5.2/Library version of the photos?
Thanks in advance,
Kat

It's easy to overlook the word preliminary in the release notes or not understand the implication.
I think the E-M1 was supported in LR 5.2 by pretending it was an E-M5.  To replicate that behavior in newer LR's, make a copy of the E-M5 camera profile and put it in the user-profiles folder, then hex-edit it to say E-M1, by changing the "5" to a "1" in the user-profiles copy, and also change the phrase "Adobe Standard" to "adobe standard" or something else slightly different that has the same number of letters.  It is important not to change the size of the file, just replace letters or numbers with other letters or numbers.  Because it's in the user-profile area, it'll survive future LR updates.
On my Windows 7 computer, the original E-M5 profile file is:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.3\Resources\CameraProfiles\Adobe Standard\Olympus E-M5 Adobe Standard.dcp
The user-profile folder is:
C:\Users\(myusername)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\
or the shortcut that can be typed directly into an Explorer address bar followed by Enter:
%APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\
And the hex-editor I use is HxD from:

Delete background Apps from memory and then Reset.
To Delete background Apps, double click Home button, in the bar at bottom, hold down on an App Icon until the minus sign appears, tap all the minus signs, until all background Apps are cleared from memory. Then Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart itself, ignor the 'slide to power off' let the iPhone restart itself. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.

  • Photosmart 7960 having color issues

I have been running my 7960 with no complaints under Windows xp for many years now.  About 3 months ago when I try and print in color it will have to much green tint.  I have tried color management on/off.  Switch between RGB and Adobe.  Even when I try grayscale it will have green tint.  The only time I can get reasonable color is when I have it on plain paper and fast normal.
Any ideas where to start troubleshooting?

I am having the exact same problem with my HP 7960.  When I print to 4x6 photo paper in the small slot for 4x6 photos my pictures are coming out with a severe green tint.  If I print the same picture on plain paper in the regular paper area, the pictures turn out fine.  I am using Vista Home Premium.  This is a recent occurence, as I have not had problems with this printer until the past few weeks.  Any help or ideas would be appreciated.  This seems to happen no matter what program I use to print the pictures, e.g. Adobe Photoshop Elements, Windows Media Player.
    Thanks so much,

  • Having connection issues?Check here for a solution

A couple of days ago out of nowhere I was unable to connect to the itunes store. Everytime I tried to connect I got this error immediately "cannot conect to itunes store, make sure your network connection is active".
I noticed alot of people saying that the itunes store is busy and try again at a later point, that has nothing to do with this problem because the itunes browser wont even try to connect.
After trying almost everything to fix this issue(including reinstalling itunes) i finally found out that creating another user on your computer and accessing itunes through that account works.
    Hope this helps!

  • Color Issues (General&Photoshop)

Hello. I have been having color issues with my imac for quite sometime and I have not found a good solution.
For some reason, the image previews for files that I have in my computer appear more dull/less saturated than when I open them in Preview or even upload them to the internet. How do I fix this?
I have already went to Preferences and calibrated my display to 2.2 gamma/65 white.
However, when I am creating graphics in Photoshop CS for the web and save for web (as .png) and upload them to the internet, they appear slightly brighter and more washed out.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have photoshop preferences set to color manage. If you already are having photoshop color manage profiles then check out this forum.

  • Photoshop CC Color Issues

When I updated my Photoshop program two updates ago I began having color issues in Photoshop as the rest of the Adobe Suite.  Regardless of whether the color mode is RGB or CMYK the colors appear washed out on the program.  This image http://i.imgur.com/BWVwbx2.jpg  is an example. The image on the right is a screen shot of the original image of the shoes copied from the website, the image on the left is the same image copied into photoshop. When I try to save the RGB file as a jpeg or a PDF it looks the same as it did in the program, washed out.  However,  when the file is CMYK color mode and I try to save it as a jpeg or PDF it looks like this http://i.imgur.com/TAUyeOf.jpg. Both my coworker and I started having this issue on our seperate computers around the same time so I don't believe that it is a graphics card issue or something along those lines. How can I fix this?  I have tried calling Adobe support, but unfortunately the person on the phone was not very experienced in the program and unable to help.
    Some Info about my computer:
Currently I have Photoshop CC with the 14.2.1 update.  I have Windows 7 Professional SP1, 64-bit OS,  8 GB of RAM (7.87 GB Usable) and 360 GB free space on the (C:) drive.

Illustrator and Windows Photo Viewer agree. They should, because they're both fully color managed. I assume Photoshop shows the same.
Picasa is not color managed. All bets are off there, it can display like anything under the sun, depending on what color space the file was created in, and how your monitor displays color.
There is a basic checklist for color management issues:
1 - is the application color managed at all?
2 - is there an embedded document profile, and what is it?
3 - what is the monitor profile?
We've established #1. For #2, see in the lower left corner of the Photoshop image window. Click the little arrow and check "document profile". What does it say?
#3 is often the critical one. This is where your calibrated monitor profile should be - but if you don't do that, it's often a manufacturer supplied profile. These are often worse than worthless. The best option here is to use sRGB if you have a standard gamut monitor (like the U2412) - or Adobe RGB if you have a wide gamut monitor (like your co-worker's U3011). Yes, there is a significant difference between these two.
    Anyway:
Go to Control Panel > Color Management > Devices. Set sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as your default monitor profile there and relaunch Photoshop:
With this setting, Photoshop, Illustrator and Windows Photo Viewer will display  (more or less) correctly. It could still be that the file had the wrong document profile, or none at all, but the file will display correctly as it is.

  • Issue with Visibility Settings for Backgrounds and Layers

I am using Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.10 (Windows) and having an issue with visibility settings for layers and backgrounds. I am attempting to get backgrounds to appear while viewing in Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro but not be printed and so far have had no success.
When using a background the Appearance Options dialogue has "Show when printing" unchecked, but "Show when displaying on screen" is checked. This results in the background not showing on the screen, and the background will only appear once the box for "Show when printing" is checked. It looks like the option for printing is dictating whether or not the background is able to appear.
Using layers has not worked either. The background layer is set to "Never Prints", but will still show up when printed.
I was wondering if anyone else has run into this and has a solution, or has any recommendations.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi setrev2012,
How are you adding the backgroud?
The only way I can think to accomplish this is via a watermark.
    The basics...
Open PDF in Acrobat. Choose Pages > Watermark > Add Watermark.
Select a jpg or PDF of your background and adjust scaling options as desired.
Then click the Appearance Options.. and uncheck the Show When Printing option.
In this image the PDF is a blank page with the word "Test" on it. The watermark is the stamp and impression (a stock photo jpg).
If you want a solid color background, just create a flat image of the background color for use as the watermark.
If you have already followed the steps and still facing the issue then please share the file with me at [email protected] so that i can have a look.
    Regards,
    Rave

  • Video Camera Color issues???

Any one elese having color issues. Mine seems to be on the yellow side. The picture looks great but the color isnt. Not sure if this is problem or not.

This is a known issue under incandescent lighting. I had 3 Iphone 4s (2 replacements after the original) and all 3 exhibited the same very yellow/orange coloring under this type of room lighting.
It's a white balance issue and one that I would think could be fixed easily with a software patch.

I have been having a issue with getting the colors on my monitor to match the colors fro my print lab. I now have the monitor calibrated to match the prints but when I open elements it doesn't use the same colors. If i have it use the calibrated profile by changing the color management settings, the color picker no longer shows true white or black. How do I get elements 12 to honor the new calibrated settings?

Ok so I've done what you said and this is what it's come back ....
I don't know that these are the errors , but they're the things which don't look right ...
    Throughout the shut down there is a recurring line ;
    It says ;
    Com.apple.launchd 1 0x100600e70.anonymous.unmount 301 PID still valid
    Then there are 2 more which I think are related ;
Com.apple.securityd 29 PID job has I overstayed its welcome , forcing removal.
Then the same with fseventd 48 and diskarbitrationd 13
Oh and on Launchd1 : System : stray anonymous job at shut down : PID 301 PPID13 PGID 13 unmount...
Then the last process says "about to call: reboot (RB_AUTOBOOT).
    Continuing...
    And stops ...
Hope this means something to you ... Thanks again for your help so far :-)

I finished adding my transtions to my timeline.  I was having crashing issues so I shut down everything before I rendered the project and now it tells me that the project is unreadable or the file is too new for this version of final cut. What Happened?

    What Happened?
No way for us to know.  But if your system was crashing, there definitely was a problem.  The FCE error message you got normally indicates the FCE project file has been corrupted.  This probably happened due to whatever caused your system to crash & shutting down the system.
First, make sure your system is running correctly.  Then, use the Finder to navigate to /users/yourusername/Documents/Final Cut Express Documents/Autosave Vault and find the most recent backup copy of your FCE project file.  Copy the file to your Final Cut Express Documents folder (copy the file, don't just move it).  Then double-click the copy to open it in FCE.  It should open ok, but will probably not have your most recent edits (transitions).  You may have to rebuild the transitions, but at least you will be back in action.

  • I am having a issue with getting data useage alerts for my iphone 4s

I am having a issue with getting data useage alerts for my iphone 4s from AT&T.  I do not download anything huge at all.
I looked into it and figured out that the phone dials out nightly at 12:29am every night.   I went into my settings and went to general..about..diagnostics and useage..then diagnostics and useage data to see this.  I then clicked don't send...but I am still getting useage alerts.  Can anyone help me please...
    Thanks

Honestly, from reading the thread linked, they all come off as a bunch of whiney people that cannot be bothered to help themselves.
Little to nothing in that thread indicates an issue beyond inept consumers.  Yes, I read several pages on the incessant gripes.  Very few made any actual attempts to troubleshoot issues before whining about the "Apple issue" and those that did actual troubleshooting got their issues resolved.
So no, Apple has nothing to fix beyond a few specific devices that are experiencing hardware issues.
If you have actually put forth effort and done the basic troubleshooting, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.  Whining will get nothing accomplished.

"Did you make the .psd file with a transparent background (checkerboard) in Photoshop? And when you placed it in AI did you choose the top option Convert Photoshop Layers to Objects?"
Yep, and it still didn't work.
But I figured what I did wrong: I was selecting both the text and the heart, and then I was doing the whole Object>Wrap Text>Make thing, as opposed to just selecting the heart and doing it. Once I did it, I moved the heart around on top of the text, and it "made room" for the pic, wrapping itself around the heart.
Thanks so much, and thanks A MILLION for being so patient.
Jeez, when can I get some textbook to learn all the intricacies of Illustrator?
