Accidentally deleted Garageband from iPad - how to get it back?

My daughter accidentally deleted the Garageband app from her new iPad Air - how do I get it back?
It came pre-installed on the iPad, hence when you go to the App store, it does not show as downloadable for free, or in the cloud, you have to pay for it.
Also this iPad has never been backed up to a desktop Mac, so a "restore" from a Mac is not an option either.

Yes, try to contact the AppStore Support, if GarageBand does not show on your Updates/Purchases for downloading again (Download past purchases - Apple Support)
The problem is, that the price for GarageBand changed after the GarageBand 2.0 upgrade from free to 5$. Previously the app was free, but the additional sounds needed to be purchased, and now the app is no longer free, but the additional sounds are. If you did not previously buy the additional sounds, you may not be listed as having purchased the app.

Both my iPhone and iPad 2 are using the same apple ID. And I do not use iTunes match. Back in the days of sync'ing via a wire with iTunes when I was setting up my iPad 2 it took all my music & videos from my iPhone which used up a lot of space, so now when I try to download podcasts on my iPad it tells me that I'm out of space.
So I was wondering how can I delete all the music & videos from my iPad and obviously still keep it on my iPhone?

Certainly you can. If you remove the music from one device, it doesn't have any effect on the other device.
You need to learn how to set up sync preferences for your device. You can use this same process for syncing any content that is store in your iTunes library.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.
Click on all of the albums or playlists that you want to sync - or the entire library if you like.
Click on the Sync Music Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
If you do this, you can pick and choose exactly the unique content that you want to sync to each device.

Are you running iOS 5? If so, have you tried going to the songs list and swiping across a song to bring up the red delete button? Or tap and hold down on an album icon until the X to delete pops up?

Music from dvd, how do I import the music?

I am using a dell laptop. My dad brought hom some dvds w/ music on them. How do I import the music from the dvd's to my ipod. I tried selecting more than 1 artist, but it didn't work; i would appreciate the help. have a good day!

i have a data dvd backup of all my 1400 songs from itunes folder. i tried to import it into a newly dowloaded version of itunes on my laptop with new hard drive.. it placed all the song info in the library, so i connected my ipod and directed it to this new library. it updated ipod successfully. but when i tried to play, i realized that i had only imported the song titles, etc. into itunes folder and subsequently onto ipod.. and because i directed to this "new" library, i lost all 1400 songs on the ipod.. pls help. how do i get my music from data dvd backup to library and to ipod. and do i have to import each song separately.. there are like 25 different folders on the dvd of albums, and downloads from itunes store....i just want what i had before my hard drive died. forgive me if i didn't post this right, my first time...

How can I remove the greyed/phantom U2 songs that Apple put on my iTunes?

This is bothering me quite a bit. Ever since Apple intrusively put the latest U2 album on everyones device, for me, it lead from one problem to another. First I managed to remove the files from my device but now I have a problem where a few songs are just sitting in my iTunes database as phantom files. It is more annoying to see these files also being reflected on my iOS devices. If I do a shuffle play, the audio just shuts off when it comes to this file.
Does anyone have any input on this?

Click Remove Album to confirm you'd like to remove the album from your account.
Sign in with the Apple ID and password you use to buy from the iTunes Store.
You'll see a confirmation message that the album has been removed from your account.
If you downloaded the songs to iTunes on your Mac or PC or to the Music app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you'll need to delete them manually.

How do I remove the "mirror" image on the front camera?

After I take photos on the front camera to say a "selfie" the image is then flipped and saved. I research online and people say it's what the camera sees (like looking into a mirror) and that's how we really look in real life but I can prove this to not be true!! Here is why, I have a beauty mark on my face on the left side and when I take a selfie my iPhone saves it to show it on the right!! And when I look into an actual mirror it's obviously on left where it should be not on the right!! IS THERE a way to remove this on the new iPhone?!? All apple product seem to do this!! iPhone, iPads even my Mac! But this not true on regular cameras. HELPPP this issue is making me not get another iPhone for I travel for a living and take tons of pics.

I noticed that all of the selfies I had taken with Instagram were reversed. This was odd to realize; I have had the phone for a month, and when I see a reversed selfie it looks normal to me ... I part my hair on the left, and I didn't notice that all of my avatars for things had my hair parted on the wrong side. I was reviewing some Facebook photos and it was very obvious that some of my pics have my hair parted on the wrong side. It was kind of weird figuring out that the ones that looked right were the wrong ones...
So I played around a bit. With the built in camera app, when I am framing a selfie, it sure would be awkward to try to center yourself in the picture if the image wasn't reversed. I've had devices with front-facing cameras where you could un-reverse the image, and it is quite disorienting to try to center yourself. So I get WHY the image is reversed (one of the reasons at least). I noticed too that when I snap the selfie with the built-in camera app, that the picture un-mirrors as it takes. There is a brief animation as the image flips side-to-side.
For me and my phone/situation, it is when I use Instagram to take pictures from the front-facing camera. Instagram just seems to grab the actual image from the screen, and not do the un-mirroring that the built in photo app uses. So, my solution is to not use the Instagram app to snap the actual selfie, but to use the built in phone app to take it, then afterwards I open the photo in instagram and do my tweaking. Just slightly less than elegant for now, I am hoping that a future Instagram update will give you control on whether to un-mirror the front-facing camera. But I see this as my phone working correctly, and the app itself being the thing that is buggy. In my case.

How do you remove the pause in between songs?

I have many songs in itunes that should be connected but have a pause in between. I used to know how to change it but I can't remember! I posted this in the itunes forum too but thought I might get a better response in this forum.

No, there isn't.
Here's my typical canned answer for this question:
Your question gets asked on a daily basis, and has been answered many times. If you search for 'gapless playback' you'll see how just how many people inquire about this.
In short... the iPod does not support gapless playback.
If you want to eliminate the gaps, one workaround is to join the individual tracks together, and play them as one single track. You can do this by reimporting the CD into iTunes using the 'Join CD Tracks' feature.

Hello. I want to delete all the music at once, not just one at a time, on my iPad/iPod to make room for my daughters movies. Maybe just delete each alblum instead of each individual song. How do I do this? It's the first generation iPad from a few years ago.

I've had my macbook for about 7 years, so I love my new ipad. But when I added it to my devices and all my song, movies, and tv shows from itunes came over, items came over that I thought I permanetly deleted along time ago. I downloaded what I wanted, but can I delete the purchased history of the others? I really don't want them on there. I tried using the cable to sync but I think my macbook is so old its not working with this newer itunes verison. HELP

There is a big difference between deleting your purchased history and deleting purchases. You can never delete
your purchased history. That is in iTunes forever. You can delete any purchases that you want form the iPad.
In the music app, go to the songs tab and you can swipe across songs in the list to bring up the rede delete button, tap on the album tab and you can tap and hold down on an album icon to bring up the X to delete on the icon.
For movies or videos, go to the videos app - tap on the movies tab and tap the edit button in the upper right corner. The X to delete pops up. Tap on the TV shows tab and you can do the same with TV shows?
I am quite sure that your Mac is way too old to sync with iTunes, but just in case are you running Snow Leopard 10.6.8?
