Having difficulty loading itunes to my pc as the installer keeps saying the folder path contains invalid character... I have an external HDD, tried it connected and disconnected same issue... looking for some help please

Did you check your security software settings? iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues
Did you remove all Apple related software prior to the install? Removing iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista and 7

After installing, boot holding down CMD+s, then when the prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
Fixes a lot of problems, and besides, if your Mac ever gets to the point it won't Boot... this is a life saver!
After you run that... let's see where we are.
BTW, several ISPs seem to have trouble with their DNS Servers lately, might try these insead...

The top 3 fixes to itunes error 9808 seem to be
1) Go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced, make sure that SSL 3.0 is checked and TLS 1.0 is checked. Also under Security make sure that the “Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart)” is unchecked. Then click ok and fire up iTunes.
2) The culprit is Norton. Go to Norton’s Personal Firewall and add the program “iTunes Helper.exe” and set the option to “Allowed” (”iTunes.exe should already be in the Allowed category.)
3) Close iTunes if you have it open right now. Then go to C:/Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes. Delete or cut the preferences.xml file which contains your iTunes preferences. Then go to C:/Documents and Settings/username/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes and delete or move the preferences.xml file. Restart iTunes and it will recreate those files with the default settings. You can change them back later.

It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

Having difficulty loading bill pay info from credit card company to pay my bill using Internet. How can I fix this problem?

I can open and view billing but when I click on Pay Bill the next screen has only white space from left margin to small column with some account information (only half of the column is visible). The right column is approximately 20 percent of full screen width. I tried to pull an update but link in Tools says that no updates are available..probably due to the fact that I have a 3.6 Firefox edition of browser.

Not sure if this is what you mean by "iTunes code," but that may be the code you enter for an iTunes gift card or (other special download code for software on the App Store). For an iTunes gift card, you enter the code on the card to get the amount of the gift card added as credit to your iTunes Store account.
If you don't have one to enter, you can ignore it. If you get one later to redeem, you can click on Account Redeem, under QUICK LINKS on the iTunes Store Home page.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Is anyone else having difficulty with itunes identifying ipads?

For some reason my windows itunes no longer automatically detects my ipad and ipod. The device button fails to appear on my menu bar. I have gone through all the advice on the apple itunes site and have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes on my computer. When i connect my ipad via the USB port it recognises the ipad but opens up a window in my computer. I'm at my wits end trying to get answers. This problem only arose after the last time I received a message through my automatic update system. Is there some sort of bug in the itunes version 64 bit for windows 8?

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

Difficulty Loading External Plugins

Is there other issues that might keep an external plugin from loading besides the SWF not being at the http location and the isFrameworkVersionSupported() not returning true? I've got a couple of tracking plugins that I'm having difficulty loading. One is the GTrackerPlugin the other is a third-party tracking plugin. I've overwritten the GTrackerPlugin's isFrameworkVersionSupported() function to always return true and ensured the swf is on the server I'm trying to load it from. The trace statement in the GTrackerPlugin's constructor isn't getting called from the plugin when it's loaded, although I'm not sure it should being that it's loaded externally. It's difficult to debug external plugin hang-ups with only an error event "pluginLoadError". Any guidance is much appreciated.

Trouble loading itunes match on apple tv

I am having trouble loading iTunes Match on my Apple TV. It has the latest OS, the correct account is accessed and iTunes Match is turned on. I tried logging out and back in, but songs from the iCloud just won't load. It says it may take a few minutes, but it has been over 4 hours in the latest attempt. No problem accessing the iCloud on my iPhone 4.
There are only about 3,000 songs in the cloud, so how long should this take ?
Anybody have any ideas ? I subscribed to have my songs available on Apple TV...

Yes, the initial scan, match and upload process is completed. As far as my network is concerned, there is nothing unusual happening, just some emails etc - normal stuff and I am on high speed.
On Apple TV, the "loading circle" just keeps on spinning, but nothing else is happening. Not sure what else to try...
