Having difficulty setting up transparent GTK themes

I've been trying to set up a minimal dark transparent GTK theme to go with my i3/tint2 setup, using compton.
This is the theme I had in mind: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/?content=149606
Unfortunately, the end result has always been a pitch black gtk theme with no transparency whatsoever :(
The wiki, multiple forum posts, and endless RTFMing has lead me to a dead end... so I'm coming here as a last resort!

Welcome to the Arch Linux forums!
In such cases, it's mostly the best thing to ask the one who made those screenshots for how the transparency effect can be achieved.
As a more general note: Given the information you have provided us, it is difficult to determine what you have already tried, hence difficult to provide any useful help.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I am having difficulty setting up ICloud acct

What am I doing wrong to set up this ICloud Account? I attempted it on 08/10/2013 with no sucess. I have downloaded the ICLOUD, then repaired any wrong stuff only the computer knows then when it has completed the upload it tells me to click finish to continue with the upload or click finish to stop the process. I am thinking there is a glitch somewhere, if it is asking one question with two outcomes.

Having difficulty setting MplayerX as default for ALL .avi/.mp4/etc files.

When I open a file with "Open With" option, selecting "Other", then selecting MplayerX and at the bottom clicking "Always Open With" - it works great for that one file. The rest automatically open with Quicktime. How do I make my MplayerX my default for all the video files?

You need to review your SMTP server settings. Mail > Preferences > Accounts > "your account" > Outgoing SMTP Server > Edit SMTP Server list
What you actually need to specify depends on your ISP.

I Sugges you to log into your hotmail acc and go to security and password change bit, then you will see two-step verification.. turn that off and you will be able to set it up on your iPhone/iPad or even Mac.

[SOLVED] Having trouble making QT apps use GTK theme

Hello everyone, I'm having trouble making QT apps use my GTK theme in openbox.
Some apps seem to work just fine but others don't.
^Such as above, as you can see VLC is working, as is qtconfig, but k9copy and k3b are not.
I've did the suggestions that are listed in the wiki. (http://tinyurl.com/ybhb7yr)
And even rebooted after I did them, still no go.
My .gtkrc-2.0 file simply contains:
gtk-theme-name="Clearlooks_blackblue"
gtk-icon-theme-name="Tango"
Does anyone have any ideas why it's not working with k9copy and k3b/how to fix it?

Besides the trillion topics that explain where the file is, let me add another one.
The UNIX way : ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/
The Mac way :
Finder
Hold Option key
Pull down GO menu
Look closely

GNOME toolbar transparency and GTK themes

It seems that GNOME 2.10 toolbar transparency doesn't work with certain GTK themes. Whether or not it works does not seem to depend on the engine - some pixmap themes (e.g. Grand Canyon) don't cause problems, wheras others (Rubbersoul) inhibit toolbar transparency, leaving ugly opaque patches. Only about half of the themes that come with GNOME and gnome-themes-extras allow for complete toolbar transparency.
What's going on here? Is there any way to fix the problem?

Okay...
- Most pixmap themes don't work.
- No SVG themes seem to work.
- Industrial engine themes mostly work.
- Smooth engine themes may or may not work.
This is weird as hell.

Setting the GTK theme for Chromium

Hello,
Apparently my Chromium installation does not correctly follow my GTK theme settings although it should according to the Chromium settings. There I defined that Chromium should use my GTK theme.

Look at the buttons of the context menu for example. They do not look like as if they would follow the GTK theme.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Toggling between classic and GTK theme does not make any difference.

Have you been syncing the iPod with iTunes? Then you just connect the iPad and set it up through iTunes and sync any content you want onto it.

In terms of games/apps. If they are not universal (you will see a + symbol next to them) or made for iPad (you would see an HD in the name, usually) then they won't look good on an iPad as those apps will open in a iPod sized window, giving you the option to enlarge.
