Having FaceTime/imessage issues

Hi is anyone else unable to sign into FaceTime or iMessage since the IOS 6 update... For some reason everything I try to sign into FaceTime or iMessage I get that my password is incorrect, but I just used my password to sign into here to post this?

  • I'm having FaceTime connectivity issues

I'm having FaceTime connectivity issues. Every time I FaceTime other apple user the connections drops right away.

Well I'm here to own up.  My dad was over today and he has an iPad 2 with iOS 7.1.1 and mine ran 6.1.2.  Over the table both on my wifi I tried to call him on facetime and he tried to call me, in both cases it failed due to lost connection as previously discussed.  He said they had used it to call my brother in england yesterday with no issue.
I bit the bullet and decided with extreme reluctance to do the upgrade.  I did a full backup whilst downloading the update on my windows pc and after the sync I applied the update.  Luckily for apple's sake the facetime connection now works both ways but I'm still left with this hideously atrocious UI color scheme.  I can however report that i can see no noticable reduction in performance so far.  As per suggested on some sites I disabled automatic downloads & updates and tweaked the accessibility settings to "reduce motion" and "increase contrast" including enabling button shapes and reducing white point.  Everything seems to work fine and Thankfully I don'rt feel like I have a hobbled device.  Clearly something between 7.0 and 7.1.1 has brought iPad 2 back up to speed so to speak.
Oh and I still hate you Apple, cheers.

  • Facetime/Imessage issues on Iphone 4 on wifi-ios6

I have an Iphone 4 that is only used now for facetime and imessage.  Neither FACETIME or IMESSAGE will work now since upgrading to ios 6.
It states waiting for activation.  I have turned both IMESSAGE and FACETIME on and off multiple times, turned the phone off and on, checked general settings, the restrictions settings...nothing works now.  The Messages won't send and the facetime attempts to connect and then drops.
This needs to be fixed ASAP.
    This is madness.
    Please help.
    Thanks

Your response did not solve my question - or issue.  Not sure how you get 10 points if you post it as solving the issue.
Points are awarded when the OP marks a response as having solved their issue.
If a response did not solve your issue, for what logical reason did you choose to mark it as solved?
Also, keep in mind we have no way of knowing what steps have already been taken unless you tell us.  Leaving details out in the original post is simply a waste of everyone's time.
Good luck on getting your issue resolved considering your attitude.

  • Facetime/iMessage issue

Hi. I have an unusual behavior in my iPad. I did this in two different iPads and I have the same issue.
I’ve set up my iPad in my wifi network. Everything worked fine, including Facetime and iMessage. When I move to my parents’ house (different wifi network) Facetime and iMessage stop working. Everything keep working fine (internet, app store, itunes, skype, etc) but those two did not work. To make them work I needed to reset the iPad (Settings – General – Reset – Reset All Settings) and setup it again in my parents’ home. Any advice to diagnose/fix this? Because I have a new iPad and I have the same issue now…
    Thank you
    sandro

Actually, one those phones were purchased in Malaysia, and I remember that Malaysian iPhones and Singaporian iPhones share the same model number. Are you saying that this is a hardware issue? I was just thinking that it the problem was because I am using an Apple ID associated with the American iTunes store, on my iPhone, and the phone might be trying to activate by sending a message to an American carrier.

  • Is anyone else having FaceTime issue?

I am having FaceTime issues and wanted to know if anyone else was having issues? It says server is busy on my iMac and won't let me access Face Time

I had a similar issue but mine said cannot verify username and password.
To resolve this i went to generals: App store and clicked on my apple id. when a pop up shows click on view Applie id account. There select the payment process and select NONE in the type of card instead of your visa or mastercard. save it and then you can try getting into facetime., It should be good. It worked for me. Good luck. Lemme know how it goes

  • My phone number is wrong on FaceTime & iMessage

My phone number is incorrect for Facetime & iMessage calls, but correct for cell & landline calls. Anyone else having this problem?
My correct number is listed under Contact, but not under FaceTime & iMessage page. It's some funky number.
    Thanks!

@trdewa - that is exactly what is happening to me. Same funky number too. I spoke to geek squad at best buy and they directed me to apple customer service. I spoke to a tech, who said they are aware of the problem and that sprint customers are experiencing this, although my husband isn't and we're on the same plan.
We also tried all the tricks including a reset and nothing worked. They said that the problem is noted and will be fixed with an update that Apple plans on putting out in the next week or so. I would suggest you call and put in a complaint, and maybe they will roll out the update sooner.

  • MacbookPro (Late 2013) FaceTime/iMessage suddenly stopped working "FaceTime Failed"

FaceTime/iMessage suddenly stopped working "FaceTime Failed" although i am calling the same number, what can i do to fix this?

    Hello cameronmhill,
It sounds like you are unable to use FaceTime on your Mac with an error that it has failed. I recommend these troubleshooting steps from the article named:
    FaceTime for Mac: Troubleshooting FaceTime
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4185
Check that your email address is verified in FaceTime > Preferences. If FaceTime > Preferences shows your email status as "verifying," follow the instructions in the verification email that was sent to complete the process.
Toggle FaceTime off and on in FaceTime > Preferences.
If still unable to Sign In follow the instructions in FaceTime, Game Center, Messages on OS X: Troubleshooting Sign in
    Troubleshooting FaceTime for Mac
You can make FaceTime calls using the FaceTime app. You can call FaceTime users whose contact information is in Contacts. You can add contacts and edit contact information in either FaceTime or Contacts. To place a video call, you may use a phone number or email address.
If you encounter issues making or receiving FaceTime calls, try the following:
Verify that FaceTime is enabled in FaceTime > Preferences. If the issue persists, or if you see the message "Waiting for Activation", try toggling FaceTime off and then on.
Verify that the Date, Time, and Time Zone are set correctly:
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences > Date & Time > Date & Time.
    Enable "Set Automatically".
Click the Time Zone tab and confirm the closest city is correct
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,

  • Facetime Connection Issues - Mountain Lion

I upgraded to Mountain Lion - Facetime worked - it didn't before on Lion.
Symptoms are Facetime rings and then just sits there 'connecting...'
Thought the upgrade to Mountain Lion solved the problem, but now it's back! Have turned Facetime on and off, changed email address, changed DNS, all to no avail.
    Can anybody offer any suggestions?
    TIA
    Andrew

I'm having the same issue with a mid 2007 iMac.  I've deleted all the plist for facetime, logged in and out a few times, turned facetime on and off a few times, and restarted the system.  So, everytime I've tried to make a facetime call the receiving party's computer facetime program doesn't come on.  Everytime someone calls me via facetime on my iMac, the call will ring but never picks up.  Also, the receiving party's computer is another imac with lion.  Any ideas.  Thanks.

  • IOS 8 iMessage issue

I recently updated my iphone 5c to the "best update yet," iOS 8... I am having trouble with iMessages. It is sending them through my email instead of my phone number. My phone number is listed but it is grey and I cannot select it. I do not want to send messages through my email. How do I fix this problem?? I have tried signing out of my apple ID but then the messages won't send at all. I have tried turning off iMessage, turning off my phone, waiting a few minutes, and then turning it all back on. None of that has helped...

i wasnt having this exact issue earlier but since i've updated to ios 8 on my iphone 5, imessages have been giving me a problem.....what i did that seemed to smooth everything out was  settings=>general=>reset=>reset network connections:  you will have to re-enter your wifi passwords as needed but it was a night an day difference......so far

  • FaceTime, iMessage, ATV dead, one user - all related to iCloud.

This started as an issue with FaceTime and iMessage on one user when I upgraded to Mavericks. I don't think I had those features before because I jumped from Lion to Mavericks. Oh - and I can't connect to my Apple TV. All from this one user. Everything works from another or new user - although I think I've seen iCloud refuse there too.
NOW - when I go to system preferences and hit the iCloud button, It just says: You can't sign in at this time, Try signing in again.
I tried talking to Apple but they seemed to give up on me - either that or the representative quit.
    -Dan

One other thing I should have mentioned is the keychain was acting very odd. I would delete stuff and it would pop right back. There was also red stuff in there - expired I guess.
I dragged my iMac to the Apple store and they poked around for a bit...  One place the Apple Genius looked was my user Library/Keychains folder - but he didn't wait for the grinding gear to finish. He went off to look something up and I went to that directory via the Terminal and that filled the screen with files. Back in the finder I found that directory had 168,000 entries. The Genius came back and tried deleting all the files and the Finder went to Not Responding and he killed that and tried deleting in chunks. I think he killed the Finder again and the directory wouldn't let us look at it due to lack of privilege. Maybe he tried again - I don't remember, but eventually via the Terminal we saw something like 4 files. He emptied the trash, rebooted and all iCloud functionality was back plus FaceTime & iMessage
A look later from home and that Keychain directory has 163k files again, but the KeyChain Access view has no red - and everything works including AppleTV connectivity.
So... I had tried to fix this via calling Apple via ExpressLane - they were poking at the Keychain but somehow didn't get it fixed, and they stopped answering my emails. Based on this problem, sometimes you just have to get to an Apple store. Or maybe describe all aspects of the problem on this forum

  • Unable to access facetime & iMessage ):

Bought a iPhone 5S 3 weeks back, upgraded to iOS v8.2. FaceTime & iMessage are found nonfunctional. Applied resetting of networks, pulled both the buttons of FaceTime & iMessage to on/off several number of times after restarting, changed DNS, trick with AirPlane Mode as described in some web pages and YouTube videos were applied too but all in vain.
Can anybody please help me with a possible solution to get my FaceTime & iMessage activated? For the first time I shifted to iOS device and facing this terrible experience! Is this a bug? Both of the APPs are saying waiting for activation and this is a endless wait.
