Having issues with IMAP in Mail
For the last week have been unable to receive emails in Mail for either yahoo or gmail. the accounts continue to work fine on IOS devices?
Here is the error I'm getting:
There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “Gmail” or try again.
The server returned the error: Connections to the server “imap.gmail.com” on the default ports timed out.
Outbound emails seem to work and the outbound SMTP connections are looking good.
I seem to have fixed it - I removed the google internet account and readied it and then restarted the computer and it now seems to be working.

Is anyone else having issues with their mail , where the reply from the person you just contacted contains very old emails from a different contact ?
I mean that I sent an email to a contact of mine yesterday. His reply contained a stream of very old emails I had received in 2009 from a totally different contact all together !! The reply email was in my inbox as being from the original person I sent the email to. This is starting to happen more regularly now , so is a problem !

Stop having issues with 2.2
I upgrade my Dinc to 2.2 and my wifes with NO issues
Do a clean wipe of you device and sd card Do at least two hardresets and your are good to go- also watch any software you install DO NOT Install any task killers at all 2.2 is good at controlling system resources
we havebeen on 2.2 for about a week with no Issues.
Battery Life is good
Quadrant speed 1295
Speedtest 1.8 down 800 up
touch is spot on
Volume is great
No issues with setting up mail i have 3 accounts 2 pop 1 imap
GPS is exact and fast
Your mileage may varyI have done three hard resets and am still having a problem with my POP3 e-mail disapearing. Even with my settings set so that it does not clear the e-mail from my server, it still deletes them. For some reason, it even still deletes from my server.

I am having trouble with comcast e mail using safari
I am having trouble with xfinity e mail using browser, SAFARI
I too had this issue. I was recently an employee and user of Comcast and they do not support Safari. Some functions work, many don't. I used Firefox and had no issues. I also set up my mail using MAC MAIL and didn't have any issues with that.

Anybody having issues with OS 10.9.2?
My Mac book pro has been having issues with restarting rather than waking from sleep. Noticed this at the time I updated software to OS 10.9.2. Seems to be fairly consistent, pressing track pad to awake, it restarts, get msg from Apple to describe problem, so looks like it might be systemic. I have experineced same problem when using my Apple wireless keyboard, restarts instead of wakes. Some applications - mail, numbers, pages also seem slow to load and quit. Also had situation yesterday where numbers files came up scrambled with seemingly random patterns of letters, numbers and symbols. Fortunately when I manually restarted machine it cleared up. Do these occurrences sound familiar and if so, any direction on correction??
Here you go, this may be a different one, but still lists "panic" Thanks!

I am having issues with being kicked off the internet intermittently. ATT states its not an issue with their service. Any ideas?
Yes it is NOT your internet service. It is Apples OSX. It seems to be happening to older computers trying to run the newer OSX ( Mavericks and newer). I have a 2009 iMac I bought with Leopard installed, I upgraded to Snow leopard 10.6.8 and my computer was running flawlessly. I upgraded to Mountain Lion and I noticed my computer running slower... kind of annoying having to wait longer for everything (start up, browsers opening up, apps opening up, mail opening up and so on) Mavericks came out for free and I was excited to get out of this issue. Well, everything went from bad to terrible! Fast user switching had a glitch with desktop picture resetting to the wave, mail rules didn't work properly and I kept getting kicked off the internet (Absolutely NOTHING wrong with my internet). No one could figure out what was going on or how to fix it, even senior Apple tech's! After 3-4 months of searching, troubleshooting and waiting for a fix, I looked at my Mac Pro running Tiger 10.4.11 with no issues what so ever... that is when I made an executive decision. GO BACK TO SNOW LEOPARD! Since May 2014 I have been running 10.6.8 on my 2009 iMac and it has been smoking fast with NO issues what so ever, especially since I maxed out my memory for Mavericks. So to sum it up: some people might get lucky with old machines running new operating systems, but for the most part, it seems older processors can't keep up with the new sophisticated operating systems. Mavericks... Yosemite... FREE UPGRADE! But you will pay the price

Is anyone having issues with imessages disappearing or not being delivered?
Is anyone having issues with imessages disappearing or not being delivered?
I too am experiencing this on my iPhone 4 after upgrading to 4.3.3. I am fairly convinced that it is a software issue. The last update seems jumpy. There appear to be more pauses and stuttering with screen changes too. Sometime the button operates perfectely (even with repeated light touches). Other times, it doesn't matter how hard I press; it takes several presses. I notice it more when i am using a battery case or connected to an AT&T MicroCell. I am having a hard time pinpointing problematic apps, although i suspect that mail with my work Exchange account may be a culprit. I suggest posting your issues on Apple's iPhone feedback page, www.apple.com/feedback/iPhone.html, to ensure that they are looking into this problem. If it is a hardware issue, I'll be pretty upset as I received my iPhone 4 on day 1 of availability and it is out of warranty. Hoping for a fix with an update. Please post on the feedback page.

I'm often having issues with clients not seeing or being able to open attachments, font formatting changes (on the pc end) and the inability to use HTML signatures to promote our company brand.
I imagine your clients must be using Outlook, which is seriously broken when it comes to e-mail standards, especially HTML e-mail. You can work around the issues with Outlook by only sending plain-text e-mails and making sure that, in the Edit -> Attachments menu, the last two options are checked. Unfortunately, that means that HTML signatures are out.
If you need something with a fancy layout, either attach a PDF file to the e-mail or include a link to a website in the e-mail. -

As stated above: Is anyone else having issues with their I Phone 5 running ios 6.1?
I am having issues with the WiFi connection to my AT&T router and voice recognition.
It wont make post to Facebook half of the time. It is lacking the option to post videos to Facebook, only to mail, message, and You Tube. And finally the voice recognition messes up what it types in both Siri and messages. Not having any of those.

Comcast Issues with Mountain Lion Mail Client (v.6)
I am having same issues receiving my e mail in Mail in my comcast account. I did have google but deleted the e mail and even my entire google account to hopefully resolve problem. Problem remains. I have tried so many things and am waiting to hear from a tech. Was on phone with Apple for hours on Sat. morning but no resolution yet. I am wondering if it is an i cloud issue.
<Edited by Host>Hi,
This thread was created by someone who had issues with their Google Mail not being fetched by the Mail app in Mountain Lion.
Their presumption was that it was the Mail App.
It turns out Google have had a problem and it not only effects Macs using Mountain Lion.
This Google Issue should in no way effect the fetching or sending of Mail via your ISP (Comcast) Login.
I don't see any info in your post that links your Comcast account to iCloud so it is difficult to follow your reasoning that iCloud is involved.
This means you have a different issue to the Original Poster.
Unfortunately it is not likely to get addressed here (Broadly speaking the presumption is that a different question should have it's own thread)
It can be difficult to judge sometimes if you have a different issue or not.
I would suggest starting your own thread.

Hi, i am having trouble with my mac mail account, i cannot send or receive any emails because of the server connection problems. Message says it could not be connected to SMTP server. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hello Sue,
I have an iPad 3, iPad Mini and iPhone 5S and they are all sluggish on capitalisation using shift keys. I hope that Apple will solve the problem because it is driving me crazy.
I find using a Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 phone, which I also have, work as well as all the ios devices before the ios 7 upgrade.
It has something to do with the length of time that you need to hold the shift key down. The shift key needs to be held longer than the letter key for the capitalisation to work. For some reason, this is a major change in the way we have learnt to touch type on computers. I am having to relearn how to type!

Hello, Im new to this website. Im having issues with my Macbook. I have the old 2009 model Macbook and it is our schools macbook. The school just upgraded these MacBooks to OSX Mavericks and when i try to open Minecraft it won't let me. It says no jdk installed. I also try to install Java SE runtime but half way through the Software Update it says cant download software because of network problem but I'm connected to the internet and i can browse stuff just fine. Can any one help with my problems. P.S. I don't know the administrator password or stuff like that. And yes we are allowed to play games and stuff on these laptops but only at home not at school so don't tell me i need to focus on school and not games.
Since you updated the operating system, it is probably Minecraft is missing certain files that ware remove or are not longer comparable with the new version of the OSX. what I recommend, is to check is there is an update for Minecraft and install that. If there is not update available, probably the best thing will be reinstalling Minecraft. Hope this will help you.
