Having Issues with my new iPod

Good Morning Everyone!
I'm new to this discussion site and to iPod. I recently purchased a 30gb iPod and have been importing my CDs into iTunes. I have been adding album artwork that I have found from google. Yesterday I noticed that at least half of my artwork is wrong-- for example, I will have artwork for Staind showing on the song info within iTunes, yet on my iPod for that very same song, artwork for the Barenaked Ladies shows up. This happens with at least half of my music. (Everything on iTunes is correct-- it's just wrong on the iPod.)
I was listening to my iPod this morning on the way to work and something else happened-- I was listening to everything that I had tagged as 80s music when all of a sudden Outkast started to play. At first I thought, OK, I just put it in the wrong playlist accidentally. However, when I looked at the iPod screen, it said that it was supposed to be playing The Cars. That happened again with several more songs. Has this happened to anyone else? What can I do to correct this problem? I'm less concerned with the album artwork. If needed, I'll clear it all out... however, songs coming up wrong is driving me crazy!

Have you ever tried the art importer that someone mentioned? I was thinking of trying that to see how that works.

I wanted to tell you that you are NOT alone! The same
problem has happened to me with my 2gb iPod nano! The
album aret doesn't match the song playing! Also when
I am click the song to view the album art up close,
it is often the wrong picture, even if the one on the
front is correct. This is seriously mind-boggling
because I haven'tdone anything to damage it! I have
tryed everything; I've restored it reset it updated
stuff... I think I have to send it back!

To all those having issues syncing their new iPod touch to iTunes:

Do me a favor and try downloading doubletwist from www.doubletwist.com. I was having issues with itunes telling me it couldn't sync music/videos/photos (but it could apps) with my new 32 GB ipod touch 3rd gen so I shipped it back to Amazon earlier this week.
Most other itune replacement software didn't support the new OS 3.0 and I didn't know how long they would take. I just got an update from doubletwist they now support the latest touch and iphones. I obviously can't try it out.
But if several people try this (make sure to check for latest version), and it allows them to transfer music/videos while Apple have their collective heads up their *****, I will reconsider purchasing it again. I love my new HTC Hero, but it just doesn't cut it as a replacement.

Slowed my computer down to unusability, missing (or hidden so I couldn't find them) things I consider key features (tag editing, smart playlists, podcasts). Doesn't appear to do anything I can't already do with iTunes. The Amazon Downloader already adds any of my purchases to my iTunes library.
Oh, and it never recognized my Touch (3.1.2) so I don't know how it would have worked. Would it have synced? Or would I have been stuck with tediously dragging and dropping things?
Given what it did to my computer, I'm unlikely to spend much time trying to get it to work. Perhaps it works better on a Windows box but I don't think I want to subject my low horsepower netbook to it.

Anybody else having issues with the new 1.1??

For some reason, I have encountered two issues already.. Whenever I'm exporting my galleries as web pages, nothing happens! It creates a null folder that I specify but then doesn't export any photos or html pages.. If I delete the folder and do it again, the exact same way, for some miracle it then begins to export.. There is no logical explanation and its clear that its a bug..
Also, when exporting multiple images into CS2, that also fails for me.. It only opens up one picture and even though the others are selected, it doesn't seem to do the trick.. Its not my computer because i have a brand new quad w/ 4 gigs of memory.. I didn't encounter either of these issues with the older version..
Anybody else??

I tried both, and was successfull both times.
External Edit:
1. I selected 2 images (D200 RAW images).
2. Right clicked to get the contextual menu and selected Open with External Editor (I have my prefs set up for Photoshop).
3. Both images opened in Photoshop.
I can't image it being system specific. What camera and file type are you using?

Having issues with calendar on iPod touch

I recently bought ipod Touch 4, but I am having problems with the calendar. Many of the events that appear on my desktop don't appear on my ipod Touch. When I input an event directly on the ipod touch, within a few seconds it disappears. I've tried numerous times to input the information, but it somehow keeps disappearing. Does anyone have any suggestion what to do, because I'm unable to input certain important dates.

I finally got my personnal vendor on the french apple store. She sent me to the ipod team : it is possible to edit event within the ipod touch, even in its french version. So I bought it one and it's great !
Hope to see more apps on it as it is a shame to build such a great engine with so few apps in it : what about the sustainable developement ?

Issue with brand new iPod Nano 7g No Phone, can't contact Apple

Hi everyone,
I just got my brand new iPod Nano the other day, when I opened it up and took the sticker off, I saw a large scratch down the screen. That was annoying enough but the scratch affects the touchscreen ability and it's very tough to ignore.
So like a normal person I want to contact Apple to try and resolve this, but I've hit another barrier. I only have one phone, a mobile and that's bust up. No way I can take or recieve calls unless I become psychic as the speaker and mic are broken. So i'm wondering if there's any other way I can contact Apple?
My nearest Apple store is about a 2 hour drive away as I live in the middle of nowhere, helpfully...

Either borrow a cell or a landline phone. I find it hard to believe no one in your neighborhood, family, school or job have no phone.

Having issues with my new iphone6 wants factory reset, but icloud is grayed out, Need help!

I am having problem with the imessage, facetime and icloud. Facetime and icloud and completely grayed out right from the setting. As to the under the "Messages" setting, iMessage is grayed out too. I tried to use the "reset all settings" function on the phone, but I forgot my restriction code. So I want to use factory restore on itune to restore my iphone, but it needs me to go to icloud setting to turn off the "find my iphone" before I can use the restore iphone. But I can't access the icloud with the phone, since it's been grayed out. Now I am stuck.. Please help!

Okay, there are two accounts on one computer, and my account is the main one though ever since, I've been having issues with downloading new songs and apps onto my iPod touch. Not only that but now all of my music's gone from my library. How can I fix it?

Has anyone ever had this problem before? I would love some advice on how to restore my library with all my music. I have 841 songs on my iPod touch and yet my iTunes library on my account says I have none, ever since my sister made her account on my laptop and some of her songs have gotten on mine (the main) account. Not only that but my iTouch doesn't seem to want to accept any other songs outside of its list. Any advice?

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

Having problems with my new iPod touch can you help me a first time user?

I cannot locate my photos in the iTunes library, I have no problem with the Music entry, is there something I have to do to create a library entry?
Also I do not get the photo folders only the individual photos in one large file (3500+) good quality but not good for specific look up, again is there anything I need to do to have folder organization?

Hi Kappy. I have located the photo files from the sync to my ipod, by the way I am a Windows XP user, and what is showing is a file called 'ipod Photo Cache' which contains folders which have the photo conversions of what is in my 'My Pictures' folder, this cache folder follows at the end of my photo library content.
The cache folder files have an extension of .thumb these are conversions for the ipod and appear to change when I delete or modify any photo in my library and to further complicate things these photos (.JPG format) have an intermediate conversion to a (.cpt format)which are contained within my photo library folders. None of this bothers me since I have my photos on the ipod which is of great value to me.
Thanks for your efforts on my behalf, I will now let this rest and proceed to other new challenges in the ipod world.

Having issues with syncing my ipod.

I am unsure if it's my ipod or itunes messing around, but since the update to 9.1, everytime i attempt to sync my ipod, it frezzes my laptop. After i disconnect it, it comes up with the message "the ipod 'nick's' cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to". I have tried the 5 'r's more than once each, except for restore, as it doesnt show up in itunes and i don't know how to restore it without it. I also tried downgrading back to 9.0.3 and i still had the problem. I always safely disconnect my ipod aswell.
Any ideas on what's wrong? and anyone know how to restore an ipod without using itunes?

Note that it's easy to do but it's quite time-consuming. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

Is anyone having issues with updating their iPod touch to iOS 4.3.3?

did anyone have any issues updating their iPod touch to iOS 4.3.3 and after trying, successfully update it? if so, how did you do it? i cant get it to update.

Anyone having issues with their new iPhone 5?

I've had my iPhone 5 for a month (64GB in white from 3 network). My fella has the same but in black but he's not been having any problems.
I've noticed the reception drops randomly, I've noticed it most when it's been in my pocket. I have to reset it using Airplane Mode to re-fresh.
Also it sometimes crashes on me, stays frozen for 2-5 minutes. Never had this problem with my old iPhones!
And litrally just ten minutes ago I tried making some calls, first time call I heard was what sounded like interferance, then the second and third call no one could hear me speaking.
Another thing I've noticed is that sometimes it doesn't like being connected to my home WiFi. We have BT Infinity and the computers run very quickly of it, however the phone seems to struggle.
Wondering whether these are common symtoms??

I think you must restore your iPhone without keeping backup! One suggestion: save your address book and your favourite apps with iCloud! And if you cannot do without, recover only this data.

Having issues with syncing the ipod to the itunes

when i load the ipod after rebooting it will say songs on ipod "name" cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exists HELP! i just got the ipod nano and i dont want to have to return it. it was an earily christmas present n it also says that the files are being used under another program

Having issues with Microsofts new File Explorer

I am currently configuring a golden image for our student computers. Now I am facing an issue in the file explorer. I have noticed that microsoft added quick access items to the ribbon and file menu.
For instance, I dont want my students to open the command prompt or powershell. The only way I found to prohibit this is to use applocker from the local group policies. But then batch files wont run either. (this is under the explorers file menu)
Another item I dont want my students to use is at the "view" part of the ribbon. Use checkboxes, hide/unhide files and show file extensions. These settings undo other policies I have set on my server.
How can I handle/remove/block these settings?

In right-side pane, add a DWORD value named NoFolderOptions,and modify the key to 1.
User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
Explorer]
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
Explorer]
Value Name: NoFolderOptions

Meanwhile,open Group Policy,and enable "Prevent access to Registry editing tools".
User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System
in right-side pane, set "Prevent access to Registry editing tools" to either Not Configured or Disabled.
Finally,reboot your system.
