Having multiple Goods Suppliers in Partner profiles of Vendor - Uses

Hi All,
We use multiple goods suppliers in partner profiles of vendor so that if the supplier has manufacturing facilitiy at various places for same material and he supplies us from one of them as lsited in the PO.
Above is one of th use of having multiple goods suppliers in partner profiles of vendor.
Other than above are there any specific benefits , can some one help me in listing  out .
Regards,
Vengal Rao.

do you need to follow up an individual order with a GS or many many orders at one time?
I am not aware of any standard PO report by partner roles.
In general the GS partner is just for information purposes, except you are doing business in European Union, then the GS partner is taken instead of the vendor to determine the country of dispatch for the Intrastat reporting.

  • Multiple Logical Systems in Partner Profile for one instance

Can we create multiple Logical Systems in Partner Profile (WE20) for one instance or one System?  If it is possible, can we create Logical System with respect to Plant/Country?

I am not quite sure if I understood your problem completley. But let's see...
Usually you use on on MSCS Cluster Group per SAP instance. So you have your already existing NW 7.0 ABAP stack in a separated Cluster Group, and you create a new Cluster Group for your new Java system.
You can find more information about it in this guide here on SDN:
    Link: [High Availability;
More information about High Availability Setups for SAP System can be found here on SDN:

If you want to use the same database for your clustered ABAP stack and your new Java stack you can do a MCOD installation.
Please see Link: [SAP Note 388866 - Multiple Components on One Database - Installation|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/388866]
    Hope this helps.

  • Multiple goods suppliers ( different branches ) code in single PO.

    Hello,
We want to issue single purchase order in favour of head office of certain vendor which is having multiple branches across country producing same material. At the time of issuing po which branch will supply material is not known, how to account goods receipt for perticular branch at the time of migo under single po? Please suggest.
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
I guess that option of diverting to branch office at the time of GR is not available....
Pls let me know if you found one.
But the other way around is possible (Diverting to Head office) if you make below settings
To link branch accounts to a head office account, you must enter the number of the head office account in the Head office field in the branch account master record. This field is contained in the company code area of the master record.
The head office account can be any vendor account except one-time accounts or branch accounts themselves. Branch accounts and head office accounts must belong to the same company code.

  • PO items with multiple goods suppliers

    Hello MM experts!
We have a requirement where a PO has multiple items and each line has a different goods supplier both foreign or local countries so inbound tax determination will be different.
    Example:
Item 1 - goods supplier foreign country (no tax)
Item 2 - goods supplier foreign country (no tax)
Item 3 - goods supplier local/domestic (domestic taxes apply)
Where in the PO can we maintain the country of origin of the line items?
    Thanks in advance.
    Alvin

    Hi,
You cannot have a separate suppliers for each line item in PO.
Supplier code is at header level so it will come for all the line items.
    In case of Import procurement:
You may have two suppliers one for custom and one for vendor in this case we have a option to maintain the custom vendor in each important condition types so that at the time of MIRO we can pay custom vendor separately and main vendor separately.
    In case of normal procurement:
You have only one supplier for all line items
So you need to check which is better for your requirement and proceed as required.

    Hi,
While configuring partner roles i did all settings ...in PO i am giving my goods supplier name in partner tab ...now when i am doing MIGO that supplier name is not coming in the screen..
    What can be the reason?
    Utsav

    Hi,
    Re:
What else to check? Are you using partner role GS for your goods supplier? Has the GS vendor master the name of the goods supplier in Name 1 field?
Yes i am using partner role in goods suppler....
Yes  the GS vendor master the name of the goods supplier in Name 1 field..
    I created 1 venodr  Main Vendor V1 through XK01..
I created another vendor as Goods Supplier V2 through XK01..
Now i went in XK02, in Vendor V1 under partner roles, i mentioned Goods Supplier as V2...
Now i am creating PO against main  Vendor  V1...Under partner tab Goods supplier V2 is coming from Vendor master..That is correct...

  • Partner profile...port....logical system....!!!!!!!

    Hello Everyone,
few stupid questions came to my mind but no  document cleard it, so thought that someone might throw some light on this.
    <b>
What is logical system in R/3 and why do we create that ?
what do we mean by partner profile and what is its significance?
    what is use of port...???</b>
<u>these all three parameters we look when we create outbound IDOCs for IDOC to file (of any other) scenario.</u>
    thanks,
    Pranav

    Hi Pranav,
What is logical system in R/3 and why do we create that ?
A logical system is your R/3 address where you can distribute data to and from an R/3 system.
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10464_05/integrate.904/b10299/ale.htm This link gives you a better idea of a logical system.
what do we mean by partner profile and what is its significance?
Based on an existing logical system, a partner profile is an identifier for a system used for communicating messages.
http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10465_01/integrate.904/b10408/ale.htm gives you a very good idea regarding partner profiles and ports.
    Hope these help,

  • Goods supplier

    hi guys
if i maintain GS as parner fun
what extra adv i will get
how it will effect at PO,MIGO,MIRO
    am not getting any diff
while MIGO it showing sipmly in Partner TAb item details
goods supplying vendor as some other vendor
is there any other effect by using GS
    nani

    hi,
they are all partner function definable while creating the vendor master.
when there is a change in the goods supplier, invoice presenter, ordering address, vendor....
GS- goods supplier will help in it come to passing the excise cenvat amount.
Excise duty/ cenvat is always taken on the goods suppliers cenvat excise.
so from FI and excise point of u maintaing the GS will give them an additional benifit.

  • EDI partner profile not maintained.

I am currently working on BI 7 and on trying to install ODS from BC its giving me error that
<b>EDI partner Profile is not maintained.</b>
Can somebody please send me the documents on how to maintain EDI partner profile for transferring data from ODS to Infocube.

    Hi Amit,
EDI partner profile is maintained using Tcode WE20.
YOu need to select LS (Logical System ) and your Source System.
And maintain Inbound and Outbound parameters here.
Check OSS Note 886102 - System Landscape Copy for SAP BW 2.X, 3.X and NW2004s BI
Step 6.8: Reactivate all partner profiles that carry the new logical system name after renaming
Execute Transaction WE20 to reactivate the partner profiles. Choose "Partner type LS (logical system)"  enter the logical system name of the partner  in tab "classification", change the  partner status from "I" (inactive) to "A" (active) and save.
    Hope this Solves your problem
    Thanks

  • EDI Partner Profiles

    Hi,
I am new to EDI. We are planning to send/receive delivery documents to our external WMS system via idoc. Is it possible to define the Idoc type and message type in a common area( i dont know where) rather than in partner profile for each customer. This is because we have 100's of customers and it will be lot of work to define partner profile for each customer.
I was reading about creating a distribution model, does anybody has any experience. Please respond.
    Thanks,
    -Naga

    Hi,
If you are dealing with a single external WMS system, then you can use logical system as your partner profile instead of using customer(s) partner profile.
In addition, you can also use message code and message function for additional parameter (to identify the customer). These are part of IDoc control records.

  • Inbound EDI multiple customers using 1 partner profile

I would think that it's possible to set up a single partner profile in WE20 through which you can process multiple idocs against multiple customers for order processing. Can anyone guide me on how to achieve this.
    Thanks, Mart

Absolutely. You could have an EDI Partner called 'GENERIC' for example, and could use that to process inbound EDI Sales Orders. Obviously you would need an identifier to represent the correct Customer account, ideally this would be the Sold-to number. If it's not your Internal Sold-to, but another unique number, then you should be able to add mapping via transaction VOE4 to table EDPAR. I.e the Customers sends an external number 123 representing their Store Id, you map that back to your internal Customer Number. Only trouble with this is if two different Customers had the same external Id, as you would have no control over that. For our generic EDI Partners, the Customer Number is mandatory.
    Cheers, Paul.

  • Differing partner goods supplier

    Hi all,
situation is that vendor AB delivers almost all his products by himself. But there are also a few products that are sold by AB and delivered by partner goods supplier (GS) XY.
As there is always the differing partner XY goods supplier for the special products there is the need to maintain this partner information permanent. Is there a way to maintain partner information in a way like info records (partners for combination vendor - material).
    - no manual adjustment of every new PO
    - not possible to maintain partner GS XY in vendor masterdata of AB as describe above
    Thx for your help

    hey Markus
<b>Is there a way to maintain partner information in a way like info records (partners for combination vendor - material).</b>
I think there is no such functionality in standard SAP.
<b>- no manual adjustment of every new PO</b>
U have to give inputs to the vendor sub range in PO material data tab in item details.
U have to see whether any modifications will serve ur purpose.
<b>- not possible to maintain partner GS XY in vendor masterdata of AB as describe above</b>
U can maintain two patners under GS (goods supplier) using vendor sub range option. for example for subrange 111 - GS will be AB and sub range 222 - GS wll be XY. U can give vendor subranges using alternative data in Purchsing data  when creating vendor master. For this u have to activate vendor sub range for the particular account gruop in OMSG transaction.

  • Why T-RFC Port canu2019t handle Partner Profile Segment Release Version.

Can TRFC Port handle the segment release of each of the segment if configured in Partner Profile.
As per sap, in Partner Profile,  if we maintain the two field "Seg. Release in IDoc Type"  and "Segment Application release" to a SAP Release lower than the current release version then all the segment populated by the IDoc adapter should be populated as per the lower release structure.
For test Purpose I have created two IDoc using File Port and TRFC port and for both of then I have maintained the Partner Profile Fields  "Seg Release in IDoc Type" and "Segment Application Release" as 46C although the latest release is 701.
In the IDoc there is a custom segment ZE1PMX with two Version Release 46C & 701. 46C is having 7 Fields and 701 is having 9 fields.
Test using TRFC Port: Using TRFC port the IDoc that is getting generated are not having the segment structure of release 46C instead of that it is taking the segment structure of latest release 701 which is having 9 fields.
Test using File Port: Using File port the IDoc that is getting generated are having the segment structure of release 46C instead of latest release 701 which is having 7 fields which is desirable.
I have also done these testing in other SAP release like 700 and found that while saving the partner profile with a lower  segment release number it throws an warning message as "Segment definitions missing for release 620/620" and IDocs are not getting generated with a error status Code 2 "Segment E1BPMEPOITEM1 is unknown in Release 620 /". But from release 701 sap allows us to save the Partner Profile without warning and also creates the IDoc without error but the segments takes the latest release structure instead of the release maintained in the Partner Profile.
If any one has already done some investigation on this issue please let me know why there is a difference in TRFC Port and File Port. Is there any other configuration that is missing for T-RFC Port.

    Hi Dennis
This forum is focused on [SAP NetWeaver Gateway|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/gateway], i.e. the (relatively) new OData/REST-orientated mechanism to expose ERP data and functions.
    You're talking about the ('classic') Gateway i.e. the service that runs on port 33<SYSNR>. As a result, you are better off posting in the forum that covers that Gateway, i.e. [Application Server Infrastructure|SAP NetWeaver Application Server;
The names do make it confusing, for sure.
    Good luck!
