Having multiple icloud tabs open in same browser

I like having my iCloud email open in one tab and my iCloud calendar open in another tab using the same browser (Safari). It works sometimes and not others. Is this a glitch? Should it work?

I apologize for the late response. The problem seemed to correct itself and only just now started happening again. Basically, I open a tab, choose iCloud, log in, choose Mail. Then I open another tab with hopes of choosing my Calendar, but as soon as I enter my login credentials I get an error message and am taken to the first /original tab. The error message is below. Before the latest Firefox update I was able to close a private browsing session by selecting the STOP menu item and checking the appropriate selection in a pop up dialogue box. Now, when I have more than one tab open in private browsing, I can't end the session by selecting STOP. The dialogue box opens and offers a START option instead of a STOP option. The same is true using CONTROL+SHIFT+P. To work around the situation I need to close all but one tab and then stop the session. I want to go back to the way it was before the update and opt out of a private session entirely, regardless of how many windows or table are open, with the former two-step process.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

No, your ID is essentially your account. You can have email aliases and you can have multiple accounts, but I don't think that's what you are asking.

You may choose to do this if you have a second iCloud account and need to access its Mail, Contacts, or Calendar data.
Note: While you can configure multiple iCloud Mail accounts in iOS, Push mail will only work for the primary iCloud account in iOS. Secondary account(s) will check for mail based on the settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data.
It's not something I can test - I suppose the second account's data gets added to the lists in iCal and Address Book?

Sorry, but I think you misunderstood. I'm aware that I need to have iOS 6 on my iPhone or iPad to view iCloud Tabs.
I think I should have been more clear. The issue I am having is that I am not able to view the iCloud Tabs on my iMac and Macbook Pro.
For example, if I am viewing a website on my iPhone, with Moutain Lion I should be able to pick up where I left off on my iMac or Macbook Pro by clicking on the iCloud Tab Button in Safari, as demonstrated. When I click on the iCloud Tab Button, the Cloud is blank. I just get the generic statement "iCloud automatically shows all the open tabs on all your devices."
My Apple ID is the same on my iPhone, iPad, iMac and Macbook Pro. I can't understand why this feature doesn't work as advertised. I have also followed all the troubleshooting steps in Support.

Firefox opens multiple new tabs and does not stop doing so until I close the browser and even then it opens up on its own and continues to open multiple new tabs. If I do not get to it quickly enough, I may have to do this more than twice.
I have tried downloading a study on Internet Explorer and do not have this issue. There is also a Microsoft Word option that works on Firefox but it's the .pdf that is the problem.
I have not attempted to download any other .pdf files from other sites so I do not know if it is a problem with all .pdf files. But as stated above, it is not an issue with .pdf on IE.

Could you check your PDF viewer preference and try changing it to a different viewer to see whether that helps? This article describes how to access that setting: [[How to disable the built-in PDF viewer and use another viewer]].
Unfortunately, the settings file that stores those application handling preferences sometimes contains crossed up settings or settings which Firefox cannot actually implement. I had 17 tabs open. When I clicked a link to open a new tab all the other tabs disappeared. I thought a new window had been opened instead, but this is not the case there is only one window open on my mozilla browser. If I try to close the window I get a message that says there are 26 tabs opened, I opened 9 more tabs. Can anybody tell me what is going on here or how I might figure this out?
Also, when I close a tab and try to reopen the tab using the right click menu, the 'undo closed tab' menu is disabled. What happened here? Can anybody tell me how to re-enable it?

I've seen some occasional glitches with windows losing the toolbar area, but not one that disturbing.
If you click and drag down on the 18th tab enough to tear it off into a new window (and possibly the same for the other newer tabs you opened), can you get the 17 tabs to re-appear in the first window? If not, I'm not sure there is a way to mend the window. If it's NOT a private browsing session, you might have to use Firefox > Exit (or File > Exit) and restore your session to get a working window. That won't work with a private window...
As a backstop, you might also right-click a tab in the window > Bookmark All Tabs before ending your session. (Because session cookies and other transient data are not preserved when you reload bookmarks, this isn't as effective as restoring a session. On the other hand, bookmark storage is less fragile than session data storage.)
Regarding Undo Close Tab, are the closed tabs listed on the History menu under Recently Closed Tabs? If so, that context menu item definitely should be enabled.

How to set Preferences such that new tabs open to same page as active when Command-T was hit?

On opening a new tab, the tab by default opens to thumbnails based on recent history. A la Safari, I want the new tab to open *to same page as was active when Command-T was hit*. What are the specific steps to take, to set as the default (preference), new pages to open to "Same page"? ("Same page" is Safari's check box in its Preferences.)
Note, I have navigated available Mozilla Support, and using about:config have reset browser.newtab.url so that the new tab appears blank (discontinuing tracking of recent history for this purpose).

Having multiple query windows open at once.

I wasn't sure how to phrase it so after some digging I'm resorting to asking on here.
I've been working out of the 'Joes2Pros' series and I work within SMMS with SQL standard installed locally for playing.
Most of the time I like to have multiple query windows open to save queries to reference later just for examples.
My question is that is there a way to ensure a query window is not using any databases so that when I run the lab setup scripts for Joes2Pros I don't encounter any errors without having to close my other query windows?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

You can accomplish this multiple ways:
1. Have your windows open with the database context set to master (select master DB in the dropdown on the toolbar)
2. "USE master; go" statement as the first line in all your query windows
3. Before you run your setup scripts, issue a kill command to terminate all other query window sessions (this will still keep the query windows open but they won't be connected to any database)

How to have web page open in same browser window after redirect in Flash video placed in Dreamweaver?

Would be grateful if anyone can help me.

Currently, a flash video plays on the index page. The following action is placed in the last frame of the video in Flash:
navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://www.paris-pet.com/home.html"));
This is working as intended with one exception: Instead of directing to the home page from the index page when the video is completed, it opens up the home page in a second browser window, leaving the empty browser window of the flash movie. This is not the seamless design I was hoping for, and I've also been told on some computers, blocking pop up windows is preventing them from smoothly transitioning to the rest of the web site.
I would like the redirect to open the home page in the same browser window as the movie in the index page played.
Please help. Print designer in over her head.

Brilliant, Jon. Thank you so much. For those of you who stumble on this, I did have a tiny bit of trouble when I edited the actionscript; the video didn't play as expected. After trial and error, this is the code that worked both in playing the video and opening up in the same browser window:

The difference seems to be this: ") before the comma prior to "_self");

When opening a PDF file I get multiple blank tabs open up instead.

I have installed and uninstalled adobe a few time but nothing changes.
I'm running a new PC with windows 7.

You can have infinite tabs opening if you have selected Firefox as the application to handle a file if you get an Open with download window.
Firefox should not be selected as the application to handle a file and you have to remove the action that is associated with that file type.
